I remember Barrow being voted out of Div 4 in the early 70s? Started to hear about them again a few years ago when they started to challenge in the National League. Great video, and as always enjoyed the train journey and walk to the ground and the facilities.

48 years in non-league without access to the funding the EFL clubs at the time got means Holker St is way behind what most fans are now used to, but it is home and we love it. The away corner admittedly is dreadful, but it will be flattened and a new stand built in the summer so the facilities are getting upgraded, and the capacity increased. As we always say, going to away games is a good day out usually spoiled by the 90 minutes of football!!

Thanks Richard, home is home and I did say the ground was traditional and had character, when the improvements come for the away end it will be 100% better 👍🏻 BTW Barrow are having a cracking season!

Great entertainment again Matt. Really like your format. Reckon you can scrub that ground off of a place to never visit again. As you said even the Town End at the Gills is better than that. Dont think Barrow will be going anywhere, and looks like another long trip there next season. Maybe they might have improved the ground by then(doubt it though) Empty train going up surprised me though. There again who wants to go to Barrow lol. I was around the last time the Gills ventured there lol 😂Having to wait for an hour at Lancaster must have been fun😢As you said they should have given you the wheel to drive the bloody thing. Wondered what you did for a living to pay for all that travelling, so imagine you are or were an HGV driver at some time. Best mate from the RAF drives a cement mixer in Swindon at present. Ok forget the Gills away from home mate unless you want to cross Bradford or Northampton off your list. We are crap away. Hopefully you might visit a couple of Conference grounds before the season ends, then take a summer break and continue with your groundhopping next season. Great format and a laugh also. Thats what counts. All the best Dave

Hello Berlin Dave, the train on the way up to Carlisle was surprisingly quiet, train travel should be subsidised in the UK to fill the seats. It was the London to Glasgow train that was quiet, Hardly Barrows fault, New away going up right now & the ground is old & has had zero investment seeing we were stuck 2 leagues lower ( NL regional) so it’s hardly surprising it’s currently shabby, Judge it after several years of FL investment that your club has benefited from
