- Watford lost at home to Cardiff City at Vicarage Road in this EFL Championship game. The away fans were some of the loudest I have heard for this channel!

I was there with Cardiff, and though it wasn’t a great game to watch, it was a great day out, and a good result. Someone else mentioned the Cardiff mascot (a girl of about 6 or 7) and I’d like to send my thanks to the guy in the Watford hornet suit, because he went out of his way to make sure she had a great day to remember.
Harry the hornet is brilliant, spent ages with the kids in the family stand as well
Yes it is quite rare for the home mascot to give so much time to an away mascot in front of the away fans 👍🏻⚽️
Enjoyed the game yesterday - I thought Watford showed some class with the Cardiff mascot before the game. The guy is right - it’s a quality ground tbf. Bluebirds!
Yes, the little girl mascot was hilarious, the Cardiff crowd reacted really well to her 👍🏻⚽️
Love vicarage rd,wolves fan
It was a nice place to watch football fuzzball 👍🏻⚽️
Love your videos mate , keep up the good work , really enjoyable watch
Nice one, a trip to your Leeds is on my list 👍🏻⚽️
Good video mate, was a great day for us lot as we rarely win away but our away support is top
I must be a lucky 🍀 charm 👍🏻⚽️
Class channel mate! Would love to visit every stadium myself one day fair play to you! I was in the away end for this game! Was a good turn out for us in the stand and also on the pitch for once! Haha😂
Good luck with your future ground hopping, it can be an expensive hobby 💷💰
in that away end was quality, none the less great video pal
Cheers buddy 🏴👍🏻
Love the videos mate, class :)
Thanks Walrus, love the name 👍🏻⚽️
Great video mate. Subscribed 👍
Nice one, thank you for your support 👍🏻⚽️
This is the second of ur vids I’ve watched and there are class …keep em coming …proper football fan…👍
Btw Bluebird fan 🏴
Thanks Jeremy, what was the first video you watched? 👍🏻⚽️
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 Millwall away with the Boro …I’m abit old school and started watching in 70s ….too many people doing these vids are just about the numbers and not the quality ….
@@jeremypowell8039thanks for returning, appreciate it 👍🏻
Away end is a death trap especially the access area to seating areas. Would hate to be in a situation were the it had to be evacuated in an emergency! Lot of these old fashioned grounds are the same modern stadia have their critics but at least in most cases they are safe!
It looked quite modern from where I was sitting? 👍🏻⚽️
We're definitely not a London club. You horns!!
Serious question,I know your called the hornets for obvious reasons, but how is it that your not called the 'red moose' by the animal on your club logo?
@nicholasevans1139 the 'moose' as its affectionately called is actually a deer. A Hart more precisely, the Hart being the emblem of Hertfordshire. Its always looked like a moose to me though.
@kristianweiser7815 Thank for clearing that up for me. No disrespect intended. Thank you for the knowledge drop.
@@nicholasevans1139 none taken mate. The owners did look to change it a few years back. Most designs did incorporate a hornet. But the vote went the way of the current badge.
👍🏻
Must admit the ground looks good Matt. Remember going to the old Vicarage Road around the late 70s, when the Gills lost there in the FA Cup 5th round, after beating Peterborough at the Priestfield in front of a huge crowd, 5-1. Back in those days Watford had alot of Skinhead bovver boy fans, which was very intimidating. My mates and myself kept our mouths shut and were pleased Watford won lol
Haha, if in doubt keep your mouth firmly shut so you don’t get a clump 👊UTG
It is a good old fashion ground , been a couple of times , not far from town centre neither if memory serve me . When you heading up North again ?
Heading up north hopefully in a few weeks ⬆️👍🏻⚽️
I'm not a Watford supporter but I think they would definitely class Luton Town as the main rival.
I think you are right 👍🏻⚽️
According to Google Brentford is 12 miles from Vicarage Road, as the crow flies, Arsenal is 14 miles, Tottenham is 15 miles and Luton is 16 miles. Watford are quite often included in London statistics and Ben Foster won Goalkeeper of The Year at the London Football Awards in 2019.
This is exactly why I asked the question, I’m receiving some differing opinions, thanks for your comments 👍🏻⚽️
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 👍
You missed QPR .... also 12 miles as crow flies .....
@@jazzloverjonny 👍
As a watford fan I would definitely not class us as a London club and think all of our fans would say the same thing. Biggest rivals are Luton 100% great video tho mate
Thanks jasprr for your support, appreciate it 👍🏻⚽️
For me Watford is culturally more London suburb than Hertfordshire town. Inside the M25, red buses, underground station. As to rivals, the highlight of the season so far was beating QPR twice. In the 1970s the rivals were Southend, Brentford and Swansea.
I’m surprised with the Swansea rivalry?? 👍🏻
Come to Cardiff next in the canton stand I'm sure you'll enjoy 🙆🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️
Is the Canton Stand where all the singers congregate? 👍🏻⚽️
No I dont class us as a london club and definetly luton are our biggest rivals by a long shot, we played borehamwood at the start of this season in a friendly which ended 0-0 but no hate between us as they let any fan anywhere around the ground
Luton v Watford may be worth a punt in the future to watch 👍🏻⚽️
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 100% would definitely recommend
Got to agree. That yellow and black Watford strip is an abomination. As far back as I can remember Watford always played in a yellow shirt and red shorts. Very classic and very distinctive. A bit like Partick Thistle in Glasgow. I always liked those colours.
They are a good combo those colours, the new kit looks like a fluorescent jacket 👍🏻⚽️
When Gillingham game at Barrow was called off,I went up to Watford v Southampton and sat in the Graham Taylor stand.Right tonight of to Wingate & Finchley v Chatham Town.
Another Chatham defeat, their chances of catching Hornchurch are now looking remote
Who put the ball in Swansea’s net? OLLIE FUCKING TANNER
Ollie born just up the road in Bromley 👍🏻⚽️
Definitely not a London club and Luton are our rivals. The yoof of our fanbase will probably claim Palace or Bournemouth though 😂
Excellent video mate. Keep up the great work
Thanks for your positive comments and the clarification 👍🏻⚽️
They have done a great job upgrading the ground over the years especially filling in the corners wish they could do that at molineux.
Molineux could be a massive ground if they continue their plans and follow on from that newer stand behind the goal 👍🏻⚽️
Really enjoyed this video and seeing Watford lose as they always had the wood over us Gills. What a good stadium built to affordable budget knowing Elton and great atmosphere from the welsh boyos 😊
Thanks Brian, I bet you miss the UK just a little bit with all these footy grounds, don’t you, go on, admit it 👍🏻⚽️
Yes, I still listen to radio podcast
commentary on Saturday night in Perth 10pm till 1.30am on radio Kent
You can try to go Clapton cfc
London oldest ground one day😮
Watford Lost
Will they sack their manager?😅
Just checked out Clapton CFC, there is no ground as such, just a pitch 👍🏻
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 old spotted dog is the oldest stadium in London if you can google this
Would be good for your channel
Great video and what a day. Also, you’re correct, we aren’t the biggest fans of sw*nsea to say the least. 😉😆
Hilarious songs from you guys, one was about finding a dead cat in a bin and thinking it was a treat 😂
Me definitely not looking for myself
Haha, any luck?? 👍🏻
🔵🐦
👍🏻⚽️
Bloobirds!
👍🏻🔵⚪️
Atmosphere at the allotments ???? Maybe in the Cardiff bit...
If you want atmosphere, and a traditional ground, you need to get yourself to Kenilworth Road.....however getting a ticket is the tricky bit..... good luck 🧡🧡🎩🎩
I went approximately 20 years ago, will probably have to wait until they get relegated before I can get a ticket again 👍🏻⚽️
I'm reliably informed that the (wanky) Watford FC went to Rome to see the pope. Apparently his holiness was less than complimentary...
😂
I have no idea what you are talking about? Have I missed something 🤔🤷♂️
@@mattthegroundhopper9242 oh, it's a Luton chant about Watford going to see the Pope. In an uncharacteristic display, the pope tells them to F off.
