I think sidemount is the right tool for the right job ie: cave restrictions where a twinset cannot fit. But yes, twinsets on a rib are difficult if there is no ladder.

This was really informative. I’m interested in tec diving, and am frustrated with my recreational dive gear (aqualung rogue). I’m definitely into the idea of the standard BPW because it’s so easily configured, but hauling a twin set into a rocky beach entry (Bonaire) just doesn’t seem enjoyable. I like the idea of redundant air sources even for recreational diving. Having your valves easily reachable and visible makes more sense to me for use and troubleshooting a problem too. I just recently saw a video on the UTD channel where they have created a method for rigging their regulators for tying their two tanks together, but still being able to isolate them like with a twin set. th-cam.com/video/wkDaiKfLNqo/w-d-xo.html If you get a chance to look into that let us all know what you think about it. Good point elaborated. Whether is SM or BM both works very well. For recreational diving and exploration it may be a good setup but for a level of commercial and construction diving SM is just not feasible.

Many good points touched. having completed a sidemount course we found that we needed to address all the points you raised and rhib diving, shore diving, particularly in Gozo all needed consideration. It gives us pleasure to dive excusively sidemount now and the problems, real or imagined are largely overcome. Thanks for the videos. M

Steve I have a question I've been watching your videos I got into side mount I want to get an xdeep 2.0 side mount system but I have a Nomad XT what is your opinion on these two different systems
