    As someone who's just really starting out and trying to find my niché, hence trying out different genres of photography, this is really helpful, Nathan. Thank you.

    Very much appreciate your videos. Two years ago I bought D7 58 but I don’t have a very good Camera for video, I’m currently using a D 3400. This gives me a great idea as to what my next steps are.

    Brilliant video. I'm using the Z6 ii with the same Benro head (per your recommendation). Thanks for the explanation of the centr pin issue, I didn't realize it was related to your earlier video on white balance. I use the X ProN and have been turning it off so I can visualize the LCD preview before shooting my flash shots and window pulls. Next stop- FTX ii, I had no idea! Thanks Nathan! P.S. I would pay to watch you edit your RE shoots : )

    I have the Z6 ii..I had no idea you can slap a canon trigger on the hotshot to see live view exposure change when on..I always have to shut off my nikon trigger to see that. and always wondered whats the work around to that was! It annoyed me so much. wow! thanks for that im bout to order a canon trigger right now!

    Hi Nathan,
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
    I have a question as a working pro, but real estate isn't my main "gig'' - what do you think will Nikon 17-28 do the job for real estate photography? I am currently working with samyang 14mm, but it gets really slow sometimes with manual focusing. I can also get a used 14-24 F mount, but that thing is heavy and fragile (I have borrowed it a few times, it is a wonderful lens). Unfortunately there is no rental services in my country, so I have to take a shot and get some kind of wide zoom. I am afraid that 17mm may be too tight sometimes.
    I will stick around, your content is full of real time knowledge.
    Edit:
    17-28 would fit me because of it's size and compactness for event and weddings.
    Edit:
    Is first version of Tokina 16-28 really good enough for modern cameras? Тhey are really cheap now.

    That's pretty much what I shoot, Nikon Z5, same Benro head, and the F-mount 14-24 2.8. I've been thinking about buying an updated FTZ in irder to regain access to my bubble level

    Thanks for the information on the Auto WB. I did notice that slight change when testing out my new body. I also noticed that the monitor and viewfinder tended to be more on the blue side be default (compared to D850 and the Z body shots). Something of note. I am moving away from F glass (except for PC glass) for RE/Arch shoots, however. Mainly due to the weight.

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use any F-mount lens on the Z5 using an FTZ adapter. I recommend the FTZii adapter, here's a link to a package deal on both, about $150 off: amzn.to/3MLUWuH

    Wondering how to get started with a d3400 not sure if i should upgrade or just get a wide angle lense and upgrade as I go?

      While you could practice with any camera and lens, if you want to do real estate photography for pay, then you do need to get the right gear, and more importantly, know how to apply it to various situations to get results clients will pay for. I have books that can help with that at amzn.to/3wEoury and I have online courses as well at LearnRE.NathanCool.com

    Hello, I have a question nikon z5 connected to it via FTZ Samyang 1.4 / 24mm ED AS IF how to configure with the camera. The camera tries to sharpen and turns on and off. Turn off autofocus?

    I’m using Nikon Z 6 with Tokina 11-16 but I can’t use the lens on the widest 11mm setting. It creates black circle around. I can only use Tokina at 14mm

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's because you're using the wrong lens. The 11-16 is a DX cropped lens, it's not made for full frame cameras. You want an FX lens (full frame). This is the Tokina lens you want: amzn.to/3ynEEmZ

    Hey Nathan, love your work. I was wondering what your thoughts were on using a shift lens for RE photography? Eg. The Laowa 15mm shift lens. I live in an area where you can usually see the ocean or river through the windows from a standing height, but you lose the water views when shooting from waist to chest height (especially in the high rises).

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have a money view then capture it, no matter the height. You can also use this technique: th-cam.com/video/08yUJhmKUvU/w-d-xo.html

    Do you think it's a good idea?

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No. Different setups/lenses and the Z6ii has a 1.5x crop on 4K video.

    I just got my z5 with 35mm f1.8 lens. Is the lens going to work for real state photo shoot?

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a lot more to understanding not just the "what" to use, but also the "why" and "how". I'd recommend taking a look at my real estate photography books and courses, which can get you started. Here are some links if you'd like to check them out: LearnRE.NathanCool.com and amzn.to/3sEe4X0

    Nathan, great video as always. My Z6ii under flash settings the last option is Flash Off (flash doesn't fire). Would this avoid the white balance issue and avoid having to use a Canon X Pro C trigger or stacking a single pin flash shoe between the camera and a Nikon X Pro N trigger? Have you tested this? Also, do you shoot with a polarizer to cut glare on hardwood floors? Thanks for all your help and books. Casey

    • @NathanCoolPhoto
      @NathanCoolPhoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! In the "Flash modes" menu, the "Flash off" option is supposed to cut power to the center pin in the hot shoe, so no flash would fire. So if this works as it's supposed to, then the trigger in the hot shoe wouldn't fire at all. You could test it, but I wouldn't rely on it since it's not "supposed" to fire anything in the hot shoe when selected; thus, if it were to work, it'd be an out-of-design fluke that could change in future firmware. Your safest bet is center-pin isolation.

    • @love2cycle2
      @love2cycle2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NathanCoolPhoto Thanks for your reply. I guess that would be the meaning of "flash off". I have been using a single pin hot shoe between my Z6II and the X Pro II N trigger but I am switching to the Canon version because the stacking method raises the trigger too high for my short little legs to see the panel! By the way, I really like the mirrorless camera and flip out screen better than my D800. Also, I can't see any difference between my Nikon 14-24 2.8 and my 14-30 f4 other than the Z lens may be slightly better not to mention much smaller and lighter. Thanks for your videos and books. They have been a huge help getting me up to speed producing top notch real estate photos.
