Where I live, it is fairly common for girl's to buy second-hand prom dresses since they really only wear it once and it is such an expensive garment. It's sometimes cheaper to buy it second-hand and pay to have someone alter it. I can see how knowing how to make your own alterations would save the girl even more money. Awesome video.

Great tutorial! A straightforward way to alter the straps! What would we do without seam rippers?
Seam rippers are time saving, I used some times threads cutter to remove old stitches.

I think I would have cut the piping and slide one under the second one front to back same as you would for the piping in a cushion. Slightly crossing over at the seam.

This dress was from my regular client so I just charged her $30 and she added $10 tip.
You can always check price with local shops around you and then just below some of market price since you work from home or goggle Alterations prices in your state. That will bring you website or price sheet. I hope this help.
You can always charge yourself hourly as many people do. But some projects really takes more time like this project was complicated with binders around. If I started charge them hourly they might can get new dress out of that.
