    Lots of good info in here! Excited to see her rip!

      Thanks brother. It’s a Po-Boy budget build. Nothing fancy. Don’t know if you’ve watched any of the other videos on it but eventual goal is an 11second classic daily driver. No beastly goals for this one but should still surprise the hell outta some people. 😉

    I got your reply and I understand now what a great person you are for giving Ray the ride of his dreams and I don’t know the relationship but I’m sure you have a friend for life I enjoy your videos and I’m a big fan you have taught me a lot I have watched some videos more than twice I wish I lived closer I could hold the camera or something

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, brother you have no idea how nice it would actually be to have someone to hold that camera!! I bet I spend half my timing trying to set the stand up to be able to actually show what I’m doing. 🤣🤣🤣

      As for building the car, Ray paid for most of the parts and helped me a lot throughout the whole process. I’ve wanted to build a nova for years now so it was actually a great opportunity for me to do something I’ve been wanting to do and for Ray to get a cool daily driver at the same time 👍🏻

    Hell yeah man it's coming along. I just have my 4" dp dumped right passed the frame under the car. Its not that loud but I may add a borla xr1 in the future

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I’m thinking either a borla or magnaflow straight through muffler eventually but I definitely want it out from under the truck. This things suppossed to be a sleeper so the more quiet the better. 😉

    Motivating to hear the Turbo sing! Very nice 👍
    Have you looked into the issues people are have trying to run a speed density tune year round? From what I’ve noticed speed density is very sensitive to climate change and doesn’t adapt like a MAF tune. Meaning as the temps change so does your tune, just you have to manual tweak it.
    I built a separator/catch can using an old Fram fuel filter housing, the video is on my channel.

      Hey brother great to hear from you! Honestly, I think people overthink things and repeat a lot of internet hearsay. The fact of the matter is that gm used speed density all the way up through 1987. Ford switched to itfor awhile and Honda’s ran it forever. It’s way more sensitive to modifications than MAF and probably a bit to altitude but just a little secret...... did you hear me talking about the POS eBay maf sensor I have? Well I’ve never been able to quit get that MAF tuned in to my satisfaction. So I’ve been running this thing in SD for the last two years. 😉 Havent has a problem yet. HOWEVER, this will be my first time under boost so we’ll just think of it as one big experiment. 😂

    good progress! I never run a gasket in between turbo and manifold. Always seem to have issues with no matter what gasket i use. Lots of exhaust pressure on my setups i suppose lol

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The gasket came with a warped ass eBay flange that I ended up not using. I just figured I use it cause I had it. If it blows out I’ll just throw some copper seal on that bitch and slap it back together. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    the thermo tec silver heat sleeving works good too if you can find it for cheap on amazon warehouse

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a whole roll of the DEI Heat reflective tape. It seemed to work well on the starter wires that were pinched between the shorty headers and the back of the block. If I see any sign of heat damage then Ill be looking at heat sleeving material for sure! 👍

    Maybe a magnaflow muffler 🤔🤔

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats the direction Im leaning but funds are low at the moment. Ironically I have a friend that happens to have two brand new 3" magnaflows for sale. I might see if I can get him to cut me a deal on one of them.

    I miss this truck! After China vette you should do another truck build.

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I kinda miss it myself sometimes. Till I realize I only got to drive it a total of about 18 hrs in the six years I owned it. 🤦🏼‍♂️ I don’t k ow if I’ll do another truck but I definitely have plans for another turbo ls swap in the hopefully near future. 👍🏻

      @BadLuckGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spaghetti? Guessing you’re referring to all the wires for the nitrous? Don’t worry brother, it’s all temporary. Lol. I just didn’t loom them yet because I wasn’t sure if they were staying. Now that I know the intellitronix window switch doesn’t work I’m glad I didn’t. 😉

    You need to get HP tuners. Control your VE maps when your in boost. Stock ecm wont know what to do after it hits positive pressure . You should run AN lines from the intake of your turbo to your valve covers. with catch can of some sort in the middle. I have a simlar build turbocharged forged gen I 383 h/c/i w/ gen3 ecm check it out.

      Thanks for watching! Thanks for advice. I’ve been working with HP Tuners for sometime now and actually have some video tutorials on the subject if you want to check them out. There are several ways to handle the PCV. I’m looking for the cheapest and “cleanest” so as not to have anything unnecessary. I’m actually trying to avoid the catchcan at the moment as I mentioned in the video. This is my first custom turbo build so again I thank you for the advise. 👍🏻
