Even a Jeep struggled to navigate the neighborhood streets of Inverness Village 4 this past weekend as heavy rain from Hurricane Debby turned them into whitewater rivers.
I didn't even think this is possible but for all the new areas I have personally seen, the road is paved and when The homes are complete It is repaved with a finishing road with proper drainage with sewer grates on the side
i've owned a stock jeep, a 2000... aside from that one giant hole you're showing, those roads are all very passable for a stock jeep wrangler... my question is how many of those homes are vacant or never sold, and how the developer could get away with not putting in any infrastructure for drainage or paved streets before selling homes?
Insurance for those homes if any is why insurance rates are so high with state & local politicians' working together to legislate fraudulent businesses to take advantage of homeowners.
Class action lawsuit that you can never win or get anything from. What im thinking sue the state of Florida for the contractor, find the plans of development. Sue The State the only way they will stop these builders. I believe pockets are being greased. Theres a behind the scenes somewhere someone knew this was wrong.
Roads that were never paved.... that says it all these developers are the bane of hard working folks wanting to own their own home... bring Ashley Moody out there in her own car and make her drive on those "roads" and see how quick things turn around
To me, this is a failure at the county level where the development approval process starts and certificate of occupancy is issued. The county approved the plan. If the approved plan did not include a drainage plan from the developer, that's on them. The only leverage the county had over the developer is inspections and refusal to issue certificate of occupancy. I The banks will not close the deal without that paper.
this is common practice in fl get together with the neighbors hire a tractor dig the ditches get r done love is the answer [if you live in this comunity and need some advicei have dealt with this exact problem and would gladly assist}
Commissioner, it is your street now! Just get your men and some equipment out there and fix it up! These are property tax paying citizens! You track down the developers and their permits!
I doubt if the county ever took possession of the streets. In my county, the county won't take possession of the streets of a new subdivision until they pass inspection. But we have building codes. Legally those 'streets' are just shared driveways.
What is the issue with Florida? Seems permits do not exist. Who did the inspections? My entire life I heard over and over people wanted to retire in Florida. Not anymore. The State is not what is used to be and is only getting worse.
All you people who running down south to move better think again cause your gonna scammed they know your desperate, another thing is a red flag was the roads not being paved
It's rough when you see an advertisement for a political campaign seeking money on a video like this. Maybe both sides could throw some of that money towards an emergency repair effort and then seek donations to cover it. They might get more votes along the way too.
Infrastructure such as a storm drainage system is usually the Developer’s primary responsibility. However, the Builder had to have known that none existed. The State has to make it right. Otherwise, a class action lawsuit could be initiated by the homeowners. However, that would take time.
how did the developer of that neighborhood get away with making these homes with no road...
It's Florida. Florida's lack of regulation is legendary.

He asked little dicksantis
When the salesman says "stucco" make sure they're not talking about you 😂
😅😅
Developers should be sued. But most likely they are out of business.
Of course they are you're sitting over in Hawaii on the beach sipping margaritas
That place looks like an active construction site. Who would move there? Jeeze, people do your research
Who did the builder pay off to get away with this?!
Three of the five county commissioners.
Rhonda Santis!
Florida a hot sweaty sandbox . with the environment so
Trashed.
Welcome to florida. Who buys a house with no roads?😂😂 you should see who pocketed all the money, someone's living large thanks to your purchase.
I just said the same thing in a comment. They probably from California, Northerns and west Coast ers
You think it's bad now? Wait for big tropical storm or worse.

The developer promised a natural setting for the neighborhood 😅
Insurance for those homes if any is why insurance rates are so high with state & local politicians' working together to legislate fraudulent businesses to take advantage of homeowners.
Might as well been a trailer park.

This mess to be resolved...

WTF!?!?!! You can actually get a mortgage for this type of development?
You bought a home assuming they would install the drainage system and roads at a later date?
“Canyons”. Lol. In actual areas of the country that has canyons, they call these shallow erosions, “washes”, not canyons😂
Wow 😮😮😮
They Dare Put A House For Sale Sign Where The Gully Is In The Road, I Say All These Homeowners Sue The City/County And The Land Owner!
Those homes and that neighborhood are not beautiful. Typical Florida Flintstones homes.
😂😂
Nice

someone doesn't know the definition of canyon.🤔
The highest point in the whole state is only 345 ft above sea level. To people with no sense of vertical scale, that's a canyon.
There are no dream homes in Florida , all real estate is going to zero , only question is when , I predict 30 yrs 😮
Your a genius
I give it 15.
How did the county planning commission let this happen, screams "graft and corruption".
Wah😮. Those are private roads. You fix them. You got the beautiful home for cheap. That's why.

Those are little wash outs, not canyons
Hernando and citrus county are both doing this.
Did they even go to get permits at the town or county building at the permits office. Civil Engineers would not have allowed this building project.
Florida....this is what you get from the GOP...... I don't want regulations.

Permits are loose in TN KY WV. FL is tougher

Just sell the house to someone else for more than what you paid. There, easy fix! 😅

I say sony
I don't live in florida n I know how it is it
This is what you see in Third World countries. Oh, this is Florida, never mind.
Welcome to the Florida dump! Ya did your homework when buying in that development.
Gov. Moisten Lips to the rescue ! 🥳

That’s what you get when you fill a mudhole in to build a neighborhood
