  • Basic installation of 2007 Chevy Suburban LTZ Dashboard cap from TXDashcovers.com....
    Buy online now www.txdashcovers.com/07yutasu...
Great DIY Project..This same dash cap will fit most 2007-2012 year model Yukon Tahoe Suburban SUV'S. Most of the 2007-2012 year models will all crack in the same place generally.
Install one of our ABS Vacuum moulded plastic dash caps. Installs over top of existing cracked or broken OEM Dashboard in less than 45 minutes in most cases

    Good job.
In Saudi Arabia the cracks are a very very common problem due to weather conditions (heatwise).
we have a lot of workshops do fix the cracks and also they install a 5mm leather on the full dash (US made or German made) like the ones on the seats and they niddle it down if you want or glue it up on the whole dash and it fits 100% and you never know it was leathered up. They do the whole job for around 300-500 bucks (depends on the cracks on your dash to fix it).

@@LarrySbrusch tbh, in my pov, it's the best way to resolve this stupid common issue of gm dashs, install a hard fine well made leather to also terminate the weird plasticy sounds when you get pumpy roads sometimes. No plastic sounds no cracks and the airbag's hole also is clear they don't put the leather on it.
      Here's an example : th-cam.com/users/shortsS2DS0HETUT8?feature=share
You'll never know. He installed leather on the doors interior too.

Years ago I did my 98 Dodge Ram. The color was a little off. As the dash cover is of the highest quality. More than likely my original factory dash was a little off on the hue color. I went the a Home Depot and bought one Rattle can of Krylon Dove gray. I used phone books and wedged shoes against the windshield over night. When I sold the truck to a guy around the corner, I told him what I had done. He looked at me and said he couldn’t tell. He thanked me for my honesty. Now I need to do my daughters 2008 Silverado 1/2 ton and my 2008 Silverado HD 3/4 ton. There’s only one place to get a good-perfect fit, so I’m back to see what’s might have changed over the years. The new piece of advice was: using the folded cardboard in the adhesive setting process for the side wings, against the doors. No..... I’m not a paid commercial ad, just a happy customer.

Not much has changed except for the shipping companies going nuts of prices for shipping..We still install them and make them the same way. One at a time..each time trying to make them fit or look better.. the two piece on the pickup style can be a little bit more tricky and may require some additional trimming around cluster area and pillars.. Not much, just a little buffing to get an exact fit.. Appreciate the comment. Thanks Larry

One tube of adhesive comes with cover. You may need 2 if yours is cracked real bad. As long as you put liberal amounts of adhesive where you have more cracks, you will bond the two pieces together to help alleviate the rattling

Can you do something about the background noise?????? Just joking, jeez some people are never happy. This is a genius idea and product. Can't wait to try it on mine. Mine is a 07 so will probably need to trim a bit but seems like it couldn't be easier. Thanks for the vid and for making these, I didn't know there was a USA made option.
Question though. On the tahoe I just bought, it seems the old cracked dash is actually peeling. Like you can rub your fingers on it and little pieces rub off the surface. Very weird, almost like a snake sheds its skin and the very top surface is lifting up. I'd say the sun did it, but I'm thinking maybe the previous owner put some sort of chemical that ate the surface away. Would you say I should just scrub the old one with something like acetone to get the flaking surface up? I imagine the peeling crap has to come off before trying to glue the new one on top. Thanks.

@@LarrySbrusch This is the type of mindset that creates the "bandaid" idea.
