I've been using that exact Elf oil under my eyes before concealer for a while now and MAN what a difference it's made in my 45 year old aging dry skin. Then I'll use a brush to blend the concealer and then tap over it with a sponge that I spray with the Elf Glow Dewy Mist. That combo is just magic! That spray is really good just by itself too. On days when I'm staying home, I'll spray that on my skin after I wash it in the mornings and it's so nice!

Dear Robert, I am a makeup artist with quite alot of knowledge of skincare and of course makeup but I keep on learning tips and tricks from you and I just wanted to thank you for this 💕 It really helps me out with my clients and at my job ☺
The whole under eye section was so interesting. I have lines and I have always found the foundation just doesn’t sit right and then you powder and Then gah! Going to try this and see what happens. I am learning so much from your channel. Went through phase of not bothering with make up for ages and now you have got me really interested again. Trying new things and just having fun with it. Thank you ☺️
At this point, my bare skin is preferable - foundation/concealer actually highlights flaws rather than hide them. So I stopped wearing all complexion products. I still go heavy with the eyeshadow and mascara though. I’ll never give that up.
I am late but never miss Robert's videos. My new favorite makeup artist, him and Wayne Goss makes us middle age lady's get a realistic way to use makeup. Thank youuuu Robert! ❤
I have very little space on my eyelids so I use nail brushes to put my eyeliner (as a very thin line on the whole eyeline or if I feel that I want a cat eye I start it in the middle of the eyeline and it is getting thicker towards the end of the eye).
Watched your video ages ago on this and omg! I shifted to a serum, spf, and 2 different putty primers prior to my foundation and i genuinely couldnt believe how much better my makeup was sitting. Life saver! Seems to last a hell of a lot longer with masks too! Love you 🤣🤣
I have a make-up hack I haven't heard anyone talk about: I use eyebrow gel on my bottom lashes. It's subtler than mascara, lasts ALL DAY, and looks pretty natural. Has anyone else tried this? I've been doing it for about a year now and really love the results.
@@Desiree2050 I use (at the moment) Ellen Tracy Eyebrow Stain, but have used NYX brow gel; whatever is on sale/cheap! So far, anything I've used has worked. Let me know if it works for you! :)
OMG for years I haven't been able to get any foundation to stick to my nose - I've tried powder, primers, eye primers, eyeshadows, the lot, but here goes for the eye cream.....
Same! I have to use concealer and that was rough when my concealer was seriously lighter than my foundation haha. I’ve evened things out now 💁🏼♀️ but seriously I thought it was just me!
Totally agree with your points around gel based eye cream and dry skin! I’m an eye cream convert. Used consistently for 5 months and for the first time, I kid you not, EVER in my lifetime my makeup no longer flakes and crapes around my eyes.
I love that Robert recommends so many drugstore products! So many "influencers" are always recommending the more high end or luxury brands. I like that Robert has a good mix, or even will recommend a more expensive brand and then a drugstore alternative.
Love love LOVE your videos and the level of knowledge you share. TYSM 🖤 The reason why a gel cream works IMO is because it replenishes your skin with hydration that we lose as a result of a natural process called - TEWL (or Trans Epidermal Water Loss) which is happening at the dermis layer of your skin. In some parts of your face, the skin barrier is strong so it can hold onto the hydration better so you're not not flaking/ generating too much oil absolutely everywhere. Now this loss of hydration can result in either dry patch/ flakiness (for my dry skin beauties as their skin pores are tiny and cannot generate as much natural oil) OR in too much oil coming through to the skin surface (for my oily skin beauties as they have large pores and skin is trying to nourish itself by producing more oil to replace water loss) BUT both are caused by the same issue - lack of hydration. Gel based creams are water-based (i.e. first ingredient is water in them) so the skin absorbs it quickly, replenishes itself and it prevents flaking/ too much oil generation. So your skin is nourished and make-up stays longer. 🥰 I should mention that I'm no skin expert. This info is just based on my own research, watching a lot of skincare videos (Hi James! 😉) and listening to the dermatologist on YT. Much love xx
When you say the “Hi I’m Robert...” part in your videos you sound like a flight attendant explaining the safety precautions of the flight 😂 It’s kind of comforting haha
I’ve been using your tip for using an oil and I can say confidently it has helped me sooooooo much. My makeup (my under eyes in particular) has never looked this good. I’ve been using the elf one specifically & it has helped me do much. Thank you!!!
Your under eye tip of a bitty bitty bit of oil or eye cream tapped under the eye is spot on. I take a smidgey smidge smidge of Eucerin Original Healing Cream on and tap it on under the eye AFTER my concealer. A very little bit because I am don't want to take any coverage away and that helps a lot with my older skin.
I have been using the dew drops since December when they came out. They do look really good but I found it better to use them on the cheek bone area more than the tzone area. They can make you break out in the tzone, I learned that in December.
Thank you so much, Robert! I've been watching the channel for a while and honestly my makeup has improved so SO much since I transitioned away from watching Beauty Gurus and towards watching tips from professionals such as yourself. It has helped me love my makeup and the way my skin looks more and just overall improves the process for me. That setting spray under foundation trick is so GENIUS! And also taking the extra steps to prep my skin with skin care before going in with my makeup has somehow improved the overall look as well as the feel while I'm wearing the makeup and also lessened how much I break out when I do decide to wear a full face. Love you so much!!
Don’t know what it is but every time I start one of your videos my cat (Akasha-Queen of the damned) hops up right next to me and has to be right there with you. Maybe it’s your voice. Whatever it is she loves you!!

I actually did a marketing focus group for a japanese company that was launching the states (no idea which it was) where they used an instrument to measure sebum levels in different parts of your face. This is such a good video! All the essentials! I totally agree about eye creams! I have one that saved my under eye area that was dehydrated and wrinkly! I now don’t have any wrinkles under my eyes and I’m 31! The concealer sits so nicely under the eyes! And yes for the serum+ SPF in the morning routine before makeup! During cold days I also add another cream below my SPF because my skin needs it, but during the summer that is my go to!
I recently did an experiment using the e.l.f. poreless putty primer under my eyes. It made such a huge difference. My eyes did not crease at all like they usually do. Thanks for another great video, Robert.
Great tips Robert! I need to watch again and take notes! 🧐 I used to have lipstick feather into the fine lines around my lips until I found MAC Lip Fix! It’s hydrating and grippy all at the same time. AND stops the feathering in its tracks. Love it.
Greta tips as always! I love watching Roberts videos because he has oily skin like I do and it’s hard to find a good Beauty you tuber who has oily skin & can recommend products to help with that, which to stay away from, etc. I especially LOVE his makeup reviews and wish he’d do more of them!

I leaned the tip technique tip of setting spray under makeup from you and I have truly loved the difference it has make in how my makeup lasts through the day and I am so very appreciative of being able to have learned that technique tip
This was the clearest explanation of makeup skin prep I've watched. I can never get foundation to stay on my nose so I can't wait to try the eye gel tip. Thank you Robert 💕
Targeted priming is a great tip! Using a smoothing primer just where you have texture, pressing in a hydrating primer just where you have dehydrated areas, etc. is really helpful. Also I tried the light layer of oil under my eyes and my concealer looks way smoother!

Love you so much Robert! ❤️ Please and thank you!!!! 🖤🖤🖤
I watched your video for skin prep from 10 months ago this week and it 👏🏼 has 👏🏼 changed 👏🏼 my👏🏼 makeup 👏🏼 game 🥰 I have very textured combination skin and always looked terrible after a few hours. Now, everything stays on point. Ordered the elf putty primer and I‘m excited for its arrival!!!
This video complements that other video perfectly! Thanks for helping out!!!!!
At this point I watch your videos just to hear your voice. It's so smoothing.
And he’s ever so handsome 😏
@@74griffo I know right! He's good to look at as well!!!
I have no interest in makeup (well not until now) and just like his voice and charisma
Dear Robert, I am a makeup artist with quite alot of knowledge of skincare and of course makeup but I keep on learning tips and tricks from you and I just wanted to thank you for this 💕 It really helps me out with my clients and at my job ☺
Robert: My morning skincare rutine is all about protecting my skin from the sun.
Me: He is a VAMPIRE!
Like the rest of us xD

His morning skincare routine is a black velvet cape.

uh, yeah, exactly what the O.P. said
The whole under eye section was so interesting.
I’ll never give that up.
if makeup is not a pleasure for you, stop it...makeup is an art form, therapy and creativity, it does not have to be torture...
@@Verbsdescribeus she literally said that she stopped using complexion product lmao
I always do a triangle at the end of my eye when I do Cat eye and then just drag the line down to just a little over half way
hooded eye gang for the win🤩
Helloooo Robert! Fancy seeing you here on this gloomy, cloudy, cold Spring Day!
I'm definitely going to try, thank you !
Mind blowing!!! Thanks for sharing 😊
With clear brow gel or a tinted one?
@@FleurHatesCupcakes Let me know how it works for you! :)
@@Desiree2050 I use (at the moment) Ellen Tracy Eyebrow Stain, but have used NYX brow gel; whatever is on sale/cheap! So far, anything I've used has worked. Let me know if it works for you! :)
You're always a pleasure to watch! And hydrating under my eyes helps with concealer as I'm 50 now.
OMG for years I haven't been able to get any foundation to stick to my nose - I've tried powder, primers, eye primers, eyeshadows, the lot, but here goes for the eye cream.....
How did it gooo
@@katiefromtheothersidex5362 honestly? No improvement but I have a different eye cream to try tomorrow
@@rantygobshyte8219 he did say gel tbf, I wonder if the cream consistency isn’t sticky enough.
Same! I have to use concealer and that was rough when my concealer was seriously lighter than my foundation haha. I’ve evened things out now 💁🏼♀️ but seriously I thought it was just me!
Omg. I tried your tips on my oily face Robert and I was shook!!! Thank you so much!!
Pronouncing 'niacinamide' makes a reappearance 😅 absolutely adore you Robert 🖤
Totally agree with your points around gel based eye cream and dry skin! I’m an eye cream convert. Used consistently for 5 months and for the first time, I kid you not, EVER in my lifetime my makeup no longer flakes and crapes around my eyes.
I just spent 2 hours watching James‘ videos so this feels like the universe telling me to keep procrastinating and tbh I agree ✨
Lol! Me too haha
I love that Robert recommends so many drugstore products! So many "influencers" are always recommending the more high end or luxury brands. I like that Robert has a good mix, or even will recommend a more expensive brand and then a drugstore alternative.
My foundation NEVER stays on my nose!!! Defo trying eye gel 💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤
I should mention that I'm no skin expert. This info is just based on my own research, watching a lot of skincare videos (Hi James! 😉) and listening to the dermatologist on YT. Much love xx
Creating a framed quote of "Not when my oils get involved!" Lol. It seriously can ruin your whole day and cancel all plans 😂
Thanks to you Robert, I no longer use an orange colour corrector under my eyes and my concealer looks so much better!!!!
When you say the “Hi I’m Robert...” part in your videos you sound like a flight attendant explaining the safety precautions of the flight 😂
It’s kind of comforting haha
Most on point comment. I feel instantly soothed when "hi I'm Robert" plays
The Glow Recipe Watermelon serum is EVERYTHING. I love their products so much
I’ve been using your tip for using an oil and I can say confidently it has helped me sooooooo much. My makeup (my under eyes in particular) has never looked this good. I’ve been using the elf one specifically & it has helped me do much. Thank you!!!
the bobbi brown eye base has really helped stop my undereyes looking dry when applying concealer x
I’m watching this while waiting for an ambulance because I’ve broken my foot hahaha good distraction
Oh, no!! Good luck at the ER!
Hope all is well!
Good luck!! Get well soon!
Omg thats crazy! Good luck
Oh no! Good luck, hopefully you have a speedy recovery.
Your videos are so clean from start to finish.
That Cuffing earring is Everything!!! I'm such a ear piercing person 😮💨🥰💞
OMG, just a little bit 'till 800k!!!?! Couldn't be happier!

Don’t know what it is but every time I start one of your videos my cat (Akasha-Queen of the damned) hops up right next to me and has to be right there with you. Maybe it’s your voice. Whatever it is she loves you!!
omg same with my cat!! Robert do you have something to confess? TuT
I’ve been playing around with primers and layering base products for different finishes. This is perfect!
My make up ALWAYS cracks into my smile lines, it makes me look old and cakey even when I’ve barely got any make up on :( please could you do a video on how to stop this? 🙏🏻💗
Pore filling primer! Pat it on!
You look extra gorgeous in today’s video hun! 💜 it’s the hair for me 😏😝 my favorite makeup hack is dampening my beauty blender with setting spray instead of with water
I am here with my cup of tea ready for your advice lol plus uploaded my video earlier than normal so I could be here lol xx
What a great video! That oil under the eye tip is gold! I got that from Wayne Goss a hundred years ago and it works wonders on my "normal" (I don't know if the term is normal nowdays) skin. Really amazing content.
I need to find a Robert who has really dry skin and can tell me what to do and buy! I only trust Robert and I be waiting for him to be like so on dry skin for example... and then he doesn't 😭😭
Yeah same! I really wish he gave more pro tips for those of us who are lacking sebum! I actually did a marketing focus group for a japanese company that was launching the states (no idea which it was) where they used an instrument to measure sebum levels in different parts of your face. My forehead was a big fat zero
@@joannablack Thats really cool! I am pretty sure mine would be in the negative lol.
My reptilian, peeling, dry skin would probably be the same too! 🐍
This is genuinely my fave type of Robert's content. That and Welsh Twins hilarity 💕💕
When you said niacinamide I literally said "You did it!!" 😂💜
Using a setting spray while my concealer & foundation is still wet has changed the game for me!
I have super oily skin & this step before powdering is *chefs kiss*!
Love your channel, almost at 800k 😚
Can’t wait for you to hit 1m !
Harassing Robert into doing the tiny hands challenge day#8
Still going strong!! (for no reason)
I have a wee giggle every time I see your comment in these, love Jaime
Yes!
What is the tiny hand challenge?
@@DanielleNicoleMakeup if I’m correct I’m pretty sure it’s that he does his makeup with tiny plastic hands instead of his regular hands. There are some MUAs that have done it if you wanna look up some videos and it’s fucking hilarious tbh
@@jordanh6123 oooooh. That does sound hilarious! 🤣 TY for clarification 🥰
Perfect thing to watch while I “recuperate” from my second vaccine shot. 💜
Me to! Got me second yesterday

I recently did an experiment using the e.l.f. poreless putty primer under my eyes. It made such a huge difference. My eyes did not crease at all like they usually do. Thanks for another great video, Robert.
4:22 😂😂 robert is too cute
Great tips Robert! I need to watch again and take notes! 🧐 I used to have lipstick feather into the fine lines around my lips until I found MAC Lip Fix! It’s hydrating and grippy all at the same time. AND stops the feathering in its tracks. Love it.
I saw the thumbnail and thought “omg did robert had a haircut ?” But I clicked and im DECEIVED (i make this sounds like a big deal lol sorry😹)
Greta tips as always! I love watching Roberts videos because he has oily skin like I do and it’s hard to find a good Beauty you tuber who has oily skin & can recommend products to help with that, which to stay away from, etc. I especially LOVE his makeup reviews and wish he’d do more of them!
Robert, I couldn‘t help but stare at your very interesting ear piece. Would you share the details? Please?
I just love watching Robert and James. They are always in a happy, fun mood. And they give GREAT tips!

THANK YOU!!! This was fantastic. You are a great teacher, Robert.
I LOVE his scar in the eyebrow!!!! 👀🖤🖤🖤
Robert your skin and understated makeup is amazing in this video! You look absolutely gorgeous dahling! 🥰 💜💜💜
Robert! How did you know exactly what I have been struggling with in my makeup routine?! You literally read my mind! Thanks so much 🙏
Targeted priming is a great tip! Using a smoothing primer just where you have texture, pressing in a hydrating primer just where you have dehydrated areas, etc. is really helpful. Also I tried the light layer of oil under my eyes and my concealer looks way smoother!
Robert is the only person I trust with advice.
I absolutely love your videos. I really appreciate you showing examples of the products you mentioned in all price ranges. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! 🥰 ❤️
