Thanks Matt! A great instructional video. Time to restart the combat conditioning journey… Could you do a similar video on hindu press-ups please? The best part (for couch surfers like me) is the gradual approach - getting the corpus warmed up first. Thanks again!
Huge respect, sir! Doing the squats and keeping the breathing under control, true master! Recently added hindu squats and push-ups into my training, see benefits, but I still have some time to master before I'm your age😊
Awesome video Matt. I just started doing Hindu Squats today after a several week layoff and I will take the challenge. 'll bet there's some big trout in that river!
Great steps, or “regressions.” First one especially (basically a de-loaded deep knee bend.) Frankly I’d be surprised if many viewers of your channel could get into those deep squats, pain free, even with the initial “warmup” steps. One possible approach is that they actually adapt to the shallow ranges first, before later trying to get into the deeper range. And/or, accessing full range by taking load off (using assistance.) I’d be curious if you’ve considered these matters (or write more about it in your book.)
Matt-in the video, your heels remain flat. My heels come up as I go down. Should I just go down until my heels start to raise? Or just do the squats with raised heels? This video does a great job to help me get started-Thank you
Matt, I’m having knee replacement surgery next month, can these Hindu squats be done after having knee replacement surgery? Just wondering because I want to start doing these again. I have 4 of your books , and they are great.
I thought you go up on your toes at the bottom? Or is that just a variation you can do? I know there are many variations like jumping etc, would flat feet be more beginner friendly and up on toes a little more advanced?
" Now a word from my sponsor which is me." I love that. No one owns you and this content except for you.
@@BennyBoxx Thumbs up!
I bought your book and did your workout when I was in my thirties, it turned me into a beast, no equipment
I love the comfy chair in the hinterlands...

I don't think there is a better way to do bodyweight squats than Hindu squats.
Excellent warm up into the full hindu squats. Very good steps
@@AJLionBoy10 Greatness

On day four brother. Bought your great book and dvds over a decade ago now plus.

@@timnuce6590 very welcome. Montana is incredible.
Wow! Digital version of Combat Conditioning.!
I owned the dvds for years -still have the book!
Thank you Matt!
Beautiful spot for a workout!
@@BRich215 Yes it is! Glad you noticed!
Great video, Matt, one of your best ever! Squats done this way may save my knees.
Very good Matt, I appreciate this.
I have a broken toe so real pushups are out of the question but these are right up my alley.

@@Stick2011 Either way is fine. I did the squats with flat heels as I’m standing on unstable terrain.
getting on it
Howdy sir, do you now find “heels down” to be your preferred method?
Great instructional
@@braedenmoses I do both depending on the terrain. I was standing on a bed of rocks that is part of the flathead river in the spring and summer.

Waiting for hindu pushups❤

Good to hear from you. Best to ask your physician.
Combat Conditioning is the Bom-Diggity! Thanks for the demo of Hindu-squats. Are you living in Montana (God's country) now? I sure miss it...
@@DerekGarner-km4fj My pleasure. Yes, part time.
Starting today...
Now actually
Doctor’s approval, for what? Doctors aren’t taught anything about scalable solutions for incrementally, measurably, improving physical ability.
Do you keep your heels flat or raise them for the Hindu squat?
Depends on the terrain.

@@jonmarek I do both. I was standing on Rocky loose terrain so I used heels flat.
This was pretty cool will give it a try
the first warm up looks like boot strappers.
It is.
Why do we keep heels flat vs going on toes?
@@jimbo2.094 I have my heels flat in this video as I am on Rocky terrain
@@mattfureysays7710 should I be going on toes if on stable surface?
I can never remember.
Good question, and you could do either one. Heels up is more quad focused.
Well i thought on the Hindu Squats you have to go on your Tippitoes not your Heels
