I couldn’t sleep so was actually watching this a second time tonight - I got up and scrubbed my kitchen, reorganized cabinets and took down kitchen Christmas as well.

They have racks for pop/soda cans that rolled down a new one as you use them. Would take up alot less space for your dr. Pepper and look nice in your pantry.
Every year we make Christmas treats the weekend before Christmas for our favorite neighbors and family. We are a blended family with 6 kids, 4 are teens now so it's getting to where I get to actually just help them if they want it. I love watching them take charge. Makes me hopefull that they will carry on this tradition once they are all grown up. On Christmas eve we drive around and an Elf always drops off new pjs, a movie and hot chocolate.

While on topic, I routinely wash my (very heavy) stove top grates in our dishwasher. I use the whole bottom rack and they clean up nicely.

Our washing machine was the 8kg top load smart inverter from LG and it has been 3years since we bought it and yet works just fine considering that I always use it twice a week
We had a top loading Maytag washer and dryer for 30yrs with no problems. Changed to a smaller, front loader set of Maytags when we moved to a smaller place. The stink from the front loaders is real and I tried everything to get rid of it. Only when I started making my own laundry soap did it stop. Basically it's just borax, washing soda (not baking soda), shredded pure castille soap and sometimes add some oxy clean and scent drops to it . You can make it dry or wet. Lots of recipes for this on line. Many blessings and a Merry Christmas to you and your family.
About painting your island - if it hasn’t been suggested yet make sure you clean it first with something like krud kutter. And tbh I wouldn’t bother sanding esp if you’re going over your current color with a darker shade.

Our main tradition is Christmas Eve service. Last year my eldest son missed because he was in New York proposing. and of course will miss being in church this year (COVID) but will live feed instead. Merry Christmas!!!
We had to change to top loader about 5 years ago , I couldn’t stand the smell of the clothes any longer. We have well water so for the longest time I thought it was that but haven’t had any smelly clothes since switching. Have LG washer and dryer and love them!

My mom had a set of Maytag that lasted 30 years for real. Me, after trying a few brands I finally was able to afford a Maytag set 2 years ago and now laundry is a joy! I got the large compasidy with spinner. Clothes get cleaner with spinner.

We just got a top loading washing machine from Whirlpool, and I love it! I had a Samsung top loader, and we had a recall on it, they came to "fix it" but we still got an error almost every time we washed a load of clothes, so definitely don't get Samsung... But if you purchase Whirlpool or Maytag, you will also be supporting American jobs! 💪🏻

I guess one positive of Covid is not having to deal with busyness of the season. Been laid off since March but have been saving a little so I can do a little for my birthday on Thursday and hopefully my sister will be off quarantine by then so we see each other socially distanced. You were asking about top load washers. We purchased an LG washer and dryer set about 4 years ago and they are phenomenal. I had a front load prior and I felt like it didn’t last near as long as a top load. If we ever purchase another one it will be another LG.
Hi there!! Love your channels!! I switched to a top loader about 5 years ago. I loved the look of a front loaded. Here is why my, my middle had terrible eczema. After testing we discovered he was allergic to mold... little did we know that the rubber piece in our front loader was harboring mold. I kept up with cleaning it... so, I wasn't aware that it was under the rubber. Once we switched to a top loader his eczema flare ups hardly ever happen anymore! We have a Samsung top loader and absolutely love it. I hope this helps. Merry Christmas!!!

I write everything down, too! it's really hard for me to do the phone notes as well. I need a piece of paper to pull out and hold on my hand, and a pen to mark it off. just easier for me. planners and calendars have always been my jam. these are cool totally customizable. i'll have to remember these.
Not sure if you’re already doing that but it totally helps if you leave the door of your washing machine open after you did a load that way it can dry inside. The same with the detergent drawer.
Also run the washer on the sanitizing cycle at least once a month when you wash towels or sheets. That also helps to clean the washer
My husband and I are going to grab a bite to eat on Thursday then ride around to look at the lights. My new great niece will arrive in April and is being named Ava. Love that name! I think I replied in your last video that no matter what we did, we could not get that smell out of our front loaders.We got rid of them and bought a set of GE with the agitators. Happy with them. I had to buy a new washing machine Friday..its a GE and I love it..my other wash a Matagorda, it wasn't as big as this one. It's a top loader.
Love to ride around Christmas Eve after Church and see the lights however, now no Church thanks to Coronavirus.

I love Frixion pens & use them for everything that's not legal (checks, signature on documents, etc.) I almost always mess up when I use regular pens, so these help me keep things neat.

Also for the stove grates some are cast iron and so putting them in the dishwasher is not the best choice unless your stove manual says it’s okay. Maybe gently set them down between the prongs on the bottom rack of the washer?
I am from Pittsburgh and I have never heard anyone say broom the floor. I say sweep with a broom and vacuum with a sweeper. Have a great holiday this year.
Here in Germany, we almost only have front loaded washingmachines. And I had semlling problems too. I switched from liquid detergend to powder. The powder containes bleach here in Germany and this finishes off the bacterias, which caused the smell. Since I switched, there was noch problem with stinky odours anymore.

We have the Maytag Bravos XL, absolutely love it, it’s very deep, can hold large comforters and very large loads. Would be great for your family of 6! Hope that’s helpful. I’ve never heard “broom the floors” but i have friends that’s say sweep the carpet when they vacuum. Lol Love your videos ❤️

I have had a front loader for years with mo order. One thing o di is run a sanitary cycle with all whites about every 6 weeks. And I put baking soda in every load
That has also,kept any dark stains from getting on the door gasket

The gas flame seems to cook the spills on. And o put my stove grates in the bottom
They are heavy. I stand them up like sheet pans. It really gets them cleaner than any scurbbibg I can do

I have Samsung top load washer with matching dryer that I LOVE!!! It has been the best washer I have ever had.
i’m a month late lol, but regarding the stove grates, fill your sink with hot water and some dawn soap and just soak the grates for a few hours. it works great
My thoughts on the smelly washing machine. Try running a long cycle on the hottest setting and add white vinegar, that should flush though any nasties and kill bacteria.

Also I wanted to add we do use the wash cycle to actually wash the machine. Afresh tablets are amazing. Not sure if your machine has that setting on it but most HE washers do.

My husband and I rent, but the washer and dryer we have is the brand Amana? I think that’s it. No idea if they even make them anymore because I’m pretty sure they’re probs original to the apartment. But I absolutely love them! The cycles are super quick. And the washer holds a ton of clothes because the drum is massive lol 🙂 Merry Christmas!!
Hey. My husband and I own an application store where we sale and repair appliances. I recommend a speed queen washer and dryer. Go with the classic model. Speed queen is the only brand that offers more than a one year warranty without taking out extended warranty. As far as your front load the seal around the door may need to be replaced. Front loads are bad about growing model in the seal
Hey Joanna! Sorry to hear about your washer. Try the GE top loader with an agitator. I don't care what anyone says - an agitator is a strict necessity for me. Jana At the Speed Life went from a front loader to the GE GTW685BPLDGtop loader with agitator a year ago & I love the look of it.
Try using a cup of vinigare in your rinse/softener section. Not only is it a good fabric softener but it will help deodorize and sanitize your clothes. I've been using it for a while and my clothes smell better, I don't use fabric softener so I needed something natural.
I try to do that and I don’t use fabric softener either. 😩😩

I think your house and decorations are beautiful and for me personally I love watching you switch it all around cause it gives me inspiration. I love to decorate in one way but then I can get very over whelmed. Like when I try to do flower arrangements I get so overwhelmed. But I to also love my shark plug in vacuum so much better. Now my old Dyson that plugged in was and still is amazing but I have had my Dyson cordless for just under a year and it already went. Now that's a lot of money to spend on a vacuum for it to break in under a year. I have the warranty but I now have no cordless until this one gets fixed by them. And 1 more thing you said your friend from Pittsburgh said she brooms the floor I'm from the Pittsburgh area and I say sweeping the floor lol. I have never heard anyone calling it brooming the floor but in a way you are lol.
I have a front loader washing machine. We have rural water where I live. I had heard that front loaders can develop an odor. So I only used Norwex laundry detergent and never noticed a smell. I got lazy and started buying laundry detergent from the store. It’s been several months and now am noticing an order in my machine. I am going back to ordering the Norwex laundry detergent! I will first clean my washer thoroughly including the seals before making the switch. I also do not use liquid fabric softener in my washer. Norwex is more expensive but a little goes a long ways. I will miss the scent of the commercial detergents but not the odor in my machine! 😉
Good to know! I never use fabric softener, but I’m sure I could do some more switching around with my detergents. 💗💗
we dont tend to have the top loading machines in the UK but for the front loading ones I do find they smell sometimes and like you i feel like i can smell it for days...... I add a couple of drops of essential oils to my detergent and it really helps.
We've always been happy with Maytag products. My one suggestion is to make sure you get a washer with an agitator. Otherwise clothes don't get as clean - whites especially.

I have used this hack before in my front loader that was smelly I put in a dishwasher tablet in the drum and ran it on the highest temperature (no clothes in the machine obviously) and it really worked. Seen it online somewhere.
My husband and I took ours apart. We have the same one as u. We even soaked the band in bleach water and still has a funky smell. I so so so should have gotten another type of washer and dryer. Not to mention I’ve had problems with my dryer as well. If my husband didn’t build shelving over them to fold and have decor on & of course the cost of them I would totally get a new set.

Not sure if you have tried this but I have a front loading washer and I will occasionally run a clean cycle using about a cup of bleach. I don’t have any odors coming from my washer. Also, I have used OdoBan in place of bleach.

To be honest I do cleaning late at night too sometimes and need to open the door for cleaning but where we live here in Malaysia all our doors has grill so not too scary.

I never sand. I clean the cabinets really well and then go over them with liquid sand. It’s at Lowe’s or Home Depot. A lot less grunt work. Plus it gets in the cracks well.

Happy Anniversary to you both 😊 have you ever tried tide washing machine cleaner and I been using a samsung activewash Aqua jet VRT top loader and love it so much the washer is dirty it has a blinking light for self clean you can just run it with water or you can add the tide cleaner and it keeps our machine smelling amazing
