I’m so glad I had this video to watch tonight because I work in health care also and it has been a long week so far and this helps me start relaxing. Your voice is calming and your dry humor is fantastic. Now I’m going to go re-watch your video with your sister cooking in your kitchen. I wish I was close to my sister so we could cook together in the same kitchen. But there are wooden utensils and heavy canisters that I would just love to clock her in the head with so we stay out of each other’s houses! 🤗 “We’re all friends and family here!” Thanks for the great video!

Suggestion for your hummus - instead of using straight water try using reserved chickpea water. It will add even more to the creaminess.

Wow, the tebouleh and hummus with some naan snack packs are inspiring! I have made these recipes before, but, the KEY, is to have them on HAND so as to not go out and eat unhealthy foods at (most) restaurants. I just bought some latex, collapsible sectioned containers (5) off of Amazon and I’m ready to prepare ahead of time. I never thought of freezing the veggie discards and bones to make a broth. I DO make a broth out of store bought oven/rotisserie chicken. Home made broth is SO much more flavorful than boxed or canned. I never have thought of using a bottled seasoning for a marinade. Good idea. Also, I haven’t made a bunch of dried ramen ahead. You made it like the Japanese make soba noodles (summertime cold, soy flavored noodles). I really like your channel and how PRACTICAL it is. Some presenters are not at all organized, and do not know how to instruct. You clearly do this ALL the time to feed your family and have it down to a routine by practice. I thank God for your channel. Tomorrow I plan on being my cooking day.

. We lived in the country and I home schooled so I had total control of what my kids ate. What ever I shopped for and brought into the home, what ever I cooked is what they ate. I liked this video. Lots of healthy options. We loved tabouleh and raised my kids on hummus. We made it all kinds of ways. White bean hummus, south western hummus.

The hummus recipe is spot on! That’s exactly how my Lebanese family makes it :) I love tabbouleh (my family pronounces it ta-boo-lee, but it’s totally a dialect thing and other parts of the world pronounce like you said it!) our version doesn’t include cucumbers but I know a lot of countries do use them. Ours is also super parsley heavy so the ratio is a bit different than yours. I loved all the new, different recipes this week! It all looks so good!!

In the hummus: Swap out the water for aquafaba or the water from the bean cans. Makes it SO much better.
Save your strawberry tops and trimming for smoothies. Just freeze in a bag until you want a smoothie. The greens and such blend down to nothing.

I pronounce tabouleh as tuh-BOO-lee but idk if that’s right. A great gluten free alternative for tabouleh is to use quinoa in place of the bulger wheat for anyone who needs to know. Really enjoying your vids Jen, I like how they are concise and packed full of info and not just rambling like a lot of others.

Hey Jen! I have a lo mein recipe that is so good and the trick is to boil the noodles and drizzle a little olive oil on them and then put it on a cookie sheet and bake them for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally and it dries them out and makes them chewy like if you were to go to panda express! You should totally try it!

Jen- my family has been making middle eastern food for generations (even though we are French/Irish 🤣). We do not pronounce the “h” in tabouleh. Also- I’ve been using quinoa in my tabouleh for a couple years now because a few of my family members are gluten free! A great alternative to anyone wanting to make this recipe but cannot eat the bulgur wheat! Also I seed my tomatoes before adding them- it seems to keep longer! I really enjoy your healthier meal prep videos!

I looked it up on the Merriam Webster online dictionary and they pronounced it tab oo lah. Also, less commonly, tab oo lee. Just for your edification. I love your videos. Thank you for the time you put into making them.

I’m half Lebanese and grew up eating tabbouleh! It’s so delicious and so good for you! I’m glad to see you making it. It depends on where in the Middle East you are from when pronouncing it but my Dad always called it ta-boo-lee lol hopefully I spelled that phonetically right. 😂

Have you tried making the sous-vide egg bites in your sous-vide thing?! I've never had anything done that way, so I'm curious.

I love Tabbouleh, but I have never found the bulgar wheat in the grocery store. I substitute with quinoa or orzo. Delicious! When I can't find mint I'll substitute fresh dill. Again, delish. A person has to try real hard to mess up Tabbouleh. (i pronounce it tab-bull-eee)

Great job ... you missed the final touch on Hummus by adding some ice cubes three or four which make it more whiter. Try it..
