Manuals for life glad some are still being made
lol everyone likes to say that until it's time to purchase one, then they opt for the Automatic. That's why they're no longer offered in so many models. Back in the Mid 90 as far as I can remember, manuals got to 60 mph faster and got 1-2 mpg better than automatics. Now with the advancement in technology, its the complete opposite, hence people care more about being faster, and 2 more mpg than the driving engagement. Plus, I guess it's hard to operate their cellphones while driving a manual. In October 2022 I purchased my first performance car/muscle car and bought a 22 Challenger Scat Pack 6mt although I know its slower than the automatic. I'd never buy an Automatic performance car....I like the engagement. Heck my 19yr old daughter drives an 08 Civic 5mt.
@@kennyharp4125 Wrong. I only buy manual
@blakeu8547 Well good for you, the overall picture of manuals tells a different story.
@@kennyharp4125 that's because with automatics they can cheat the emission tests and with manual they cannot :D
@@kennyharp4125 Manual if you want to _drive_ the car.
These interiors remind me so much of the B9 Audi interiors that I miss so much looking at the new ones. The CT5-V BW is amazing in every way, truly
I also get b9 vibes from this
@@krabuh same mix of leather, metals, matte plastics/carbon fiber.
Simple, sleek design without unnecessary clutter. Audi had it figured out and threw it away for…exclusive touchscreens and gloss black plastic lol. Good on Cadillac for retaining a high quality interior with properly tactile buttons and switches. Hope they continue in this direction
@@RS3NDIT Totally agree dude!!
100% hit it there... B9 audi interiors were lightyears ahead of F80/F82 BMW's at the time. Now the G chassis has caught up and Audi is doing... something. @@RS3NDIT
One of the biggest reasons I went with an 24 A4 Allroad Prestige over the new A6 Allroad is bc of the mix of physical buttons & screens in the B9.5 opposed to all screens. They still have really nice simple Audi quality but have a good amount of physical controls that are necessary imo. Sucks that this year is the last year of the B9 but that's why I hopped on & ordered an 24 before the books closed on them
Dude, love your videos, one of the best reviews on TH-cam, no music no nonsense, car noises are the best, awesome.
Makes you feel like you’re driving 🙌
Bro the shifting of gear looks so smooth🤯😵blown away. I have never driven a car with an automatic gear but this so so fantastic.
one of the best reviews i’ve seen of the ct5v. absolutely love the car. hopefully i can own one one day
Favorite driving experience out of ALL the cars you've driven. That's high praise and makes me wonder if you're just smitten in the moment..
This CT5-V Blackwing is everything a BMW M5 or a AMG GT63 should be but aren't, this and the CT4-V are the only true drivers sports saloons, the M5 and GT63 may be supercar fast, but they're not engaging like a true sports car, my grandma could hustle an M5, it's that easy to drive, this Cadillac is a drivers car, it's like a modern E39 M5, it's a true 4 door sports car, it's very luxurious yet it's super engaging, it takes effort to drive it hard, but it's super fun and rewarding if you know what you're doing.
How about the Alfa QV? That one certainly has character unlike bmw and mercedes
As a Giulia QV owner, it's fantastic. The blackwing is also incredible and I doubt you could go wrong with either, with the Cadillac having the clear advantage in dealer network. @@ctreacts1537
So many years ago, you made a video that convinced me to get an Audi B8.5 S4. I think you just sold me on my next car too 😂
I can tell you from personal experience that you are hitting your target as far as helping the viewer "find the perfect car ... by driving everything" is concerned. I was able to confidently pursue purchasing an 11th gen Si because of yours (and Tedwards) consistent content on it. Absolutely love the vehicle. Keep up the great work !
That yellow is perfect 🔥🔥
was never a cadi fan, but this car is really tight.
Great review, loved every second of it
I drive a 2023 300C, but man, owning one of these would be the DREAM! Looking forward to the next Blackwing update where the interior gets an upgrade!
one of a kind. love the f82 gold color
Funny how I've watched both perspectives of you and Brower reviewing each of your respective cars at the same time.
Well said. Best sports sedan ever made! Truly majestic and flawed in the right kind of ways.
Just picked up a 24 Civic Si for a daily driver and to dip my toes into modern 6M gear boxes and wow, I Fully intend to snag a 6M Blackwing in my future as a daily driver. Thanks for the in-depth look.
How u like it ? I have a 20’ Si coupe boutta go pick it up rn actually lol
Your si is nothing to prepare you for what blackwing has to offer. Completely a whole different ball game with the tremec 6m my friend.
I've got a ct4 bw (my wife's dd) and I literally am 100% in love with it. As far as I'm concerned that transmission is absolutely the star of the show, the rest of the package does well by not getting in its way. I can appreciate the delphi magnetic shocks but I'm pretty sure I'd prefer a really high end traditionally damped solution personally speaking. That said, I install coilovers on my cars typically, so I'm the guy who hates the softest AND the hardest suspension setting as a matter of course. Either way it's good enough that I'm not thinking of changing anything until things start breaking on their own. I'm also interested in those tires. I'm running 255 rear michelin x-ice this winter because I couldn't find anything in the factory 275 width. I'm eagerly awaiting wider selections in both tires and rims for our car and I hope that's a sign it's incoming.
I gotta admit that yellow is a tough one, it reminds me of what vw was using a few years ago for press vehicles, and that's coming from a guy with a smurf_ucker blue ct4.
Great video..
668 hp sounds so good ✌🏻🤧🤜🏻
Thanks for the ride.
I was all set for an Acura Integra type S. Until now! II just hope something more expensive doesn't come along and steal my heart... like the 2025 CT5 V BW.
I agree. This is the best sedan on the market. Pretty much the only car I’d try to upgrade my Stinger to at this point.
Came to a stoplight next to one of these couple months ago I had my Bentley,GT, Cadillac Driver was floored. I kept with him, but that Cadillac is so fast it is means sounding.
I'd love to own one of these! Might end up looking into a CTS-V
Can’t wait to see the new wrap around screen
What a beautiful car, beautiful color as well.
The exhaust sound is nice
dope glad u liked it , gg cadillac
Such a sweet car!
Those white seats look fire.
Watching you rev match into 1st gear is crazy to me.
Someone has to do it😂
Beautiful vehicle. Our GM dealer here in Northern Virginia has quite a few and they seem to sit awhile. I think because a lot of folks don't understand how awesome this car really is. So ty for this video. Well worth the price for sure. Does it compare to the M5?
I can trust his word cuz this guy can drive manual the right way.
he stalled at 13:12
@@ykwhatitizno?
The first thing I noticed that I didn't like was the screen. Glad to see they are doing something about it. The bmw and mercedes you can get for the same price or cheaper looks way better on the inside. The escalade has a nice inside so they need to do something like that if they're asking 70 to 90k for it.
Chris, I've always been curious - what is your background? How did you get into cars, and doing videos? Do you have any racing experience?
Wow amazing
I would love to see it on the track.
I’ve owned 2015 ATS-V and what a wonderful car it was with one only issue it’s info center it was slow and laggy. I hope all new Cadillac fix that issue.
17:53 In tour mode you can still see your tachometer on the bottom left, on the right of where your odometer is at.
There's a tach in the bottom left corner in Tour mode, it's just tiny as hell. Can't wait for the interior updates to hit, though if we think this is expensive, I can only imagine how much more it will be with said updates.
I like the color. 😊.
Great review with enthusiast relevant detail and enthusiasm.
one thing you comment on is great throttle response
how would you compare it to a C7 in terms of throttle response?
I had a C7 and found the throttle response lazy and uninspiring at Moderate PARTIAL throttle inputs. if you hammered the C7 throttle it responded, but any Moderate inputs and it didn't feel responsive...unlike porsche throttle response which is razor sharp.
hey topher, how are any of these cars so different? i didn’t realize you had like a review for every year of these.
These cars are absolutely amazing, but I still wish the CT4 BW came with an NA V8 and about 450hp. I will die on that hill.
Thanks, your video is making me want to go for a drive.
I'm looking at a Lexus IS 500, with a NA V8... and i just wish it came with a manual...
On the other hand the CT4 BW comes with a manual but no V8 😭
Yup or at least an inline 6 over the lame V6.
@@awepossum1059oddly enough a IS350 with a manual makes more sense then the CT4 with a v6 and manual. Lol
@@awepossum1059I have a feeling people will start LS swapping it for sure.
@@Rambler_13 Yeah. Dont know if GM has ever produced an inline 6 though.
They still make these in manual, thats amazing.
Impressive.
Mine has manual shift capability and real leather. Still nice.Dual sun roofs.
How does this compare the the G80 Manual in terms of engagement, feel and fun at all speeds? This one, even in this color, certainly looks better!
So I think that the randomized rev you mention when going into neutral with rev match is likely if you pop it into neutral a little harder and you accidentally hit the switch that tells the car to rev match into that gear above or below neutral.
This will be a classic in 2035
for around $100k, if you need or want a fast sedan. I think this is probably the best car for the money. and it sounds SO good!
Why would one neeeeeed a fast sedan? 😂 genuinely wondering.
@@reverbandchill3425 let's say you do track driving but you have a family or you like to hang out with friends. maybe you live in germany (M5 market) and want to get to work quicker. or honestly, maybe because life is too short to drive a boring car. 🫡
@@Panzil these sound like wants though, so I was wondering the distinction between needing and wanting a fast vroom vroom with 4 doors. I get your general point. For sure a good value. 😎
If you don't need 4 doors, I fail to see how this is any better than a Camero ZL1
@@reverbandchill3425Hagerty proved otherwise.
Hopefully they address the lack of heated seats in the rear in the next refresh 🤔
Thoughts on the new 2025 interior?
She's beautiful! 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍
Can you skip shift ? First-second-fourth while around town ?
Hi TheTopher/Chris!
I can't believe this is the only model in its segment to have a manual option, you'd think that at least BMW would offer it like they did with the F10 M5. It's also funny how Cadillac of all brands is creating something like this
They've always made cars like this. CTS-V?
The last actual bad ass American car made.
I'd take this over IS500 anyday. And it's more practical for family with larger rear leg room and trunk space. It can be comfortable commuter and mean sexy beast when you want it to be
The perfect car
Not sure about that Golden Shower Yellow color but i think in a flat gray black or dark red, or maybe more of a ferrari yellow, itd suit the body better.
How's shifter feel...compared to civic type r?
I want one! But I’m about 90k short… hook a brotha up?? 😂 awesome car though. Love it!
5:15 - From what I've seen of the '25 refresh photos/videos, those two physical knobs are gone. If they actually deleted a way to scroll through channels and a way for the passenger to change the volume, that'll be very disappointing. The manual *already* lacks the shortcut controls near the shifter that the automatic has.
Edit: Turns out you noticed this already. lol 24:52
Just imagine the z06 Flat-plane V8 in one of these with that 6 speed mt
This is the new M5
Why no supercharger whine? they wanted to make it more refined?
only manual v8 sedan on sale right now?
The mid-life crisis car for those that don’t want to be perceived as having a mid-life crisis. Just a Caddy to the naked eye, a banshee for those in the know. I dig it.
I do not understand why car companies insist on putting the volume knob on the drivers side. You have a scroll wheel on the steering wheel. It makes no sense that they do that. Your Passenger has to reach across the cabin just to change the volume. I have seen some cars allow you to switch the tuning and volume knobs, my Genesis G70 2023 does that, very nice and very under rated feature in a car.
This car makes 600 horsepower and still gets better fuel economy than my v6 mercury by a long way.
You get this tuned and lean it out because theyre rich for passing emissions, itll be way more fuel efficient and make close to 700 crank
Will get one of these used in 2-3 years on a discount 😉 .. curious the verdict on long term reliability of this engine though.
I’m waiting for the used ones to get in the $60-70K range. They getting down into the low $80’s now. Another year I should be able to pick one up at my price point. I’ve had good luck buying lightly used Cadillacs. Someone else can eat the depreciation.
you think the ACC in the type r sucks?
I thought it worked pretty well. First car I’ve ever had it in but it worked pretty well the few times I’ve used it. I was on a turnpike though, not sure if that makes it work better than being on highways where following distance is probably a bit closer maybe?
I've gone back and forth on it, ultimately I found myself disabling it and just using old school cruise. My problem with it is I constantly feel like the car is braking too much and holding up drivers behind me (making them want to pass) while following traffic up front. In traffic, it's easier to just take over myself.
Pierwszy raz widzę jazdę amerykański samochodem z ręczną skrzynią biegów. Podobno w USA trzeba mieć specjalne prawo jazdy na jazdę samochodem z ręczną skrzynią biegów?
As fantastic as this car is on the track, I hope Cadillac does something with well with the refresh. The C-pillar & back never grew on me.
Otherwise, great review! And, I'm glad this has a proper transmission.
All the refresh does is change the front headlights to the "droopy'' ones like on the new escalade, and merge the two screens into one panoramic one, as is the style of the times. I think it's a sidegrade at best.
Please review 2007-2008 Acura TL Type-S.
Can you drive it automatically?
That engine is awesome but I'd prefer the CT4 V blackwing size wise.
yeah agree, seen one of these at a show and they are too big. CT4 V is the perfect size.
Just got a CT4 Vee Blackwing for
the smaller size and much lower price (than the CT5) to say nothing of better fuel economy 😊
Amazing car Tons of track engineering
Love it 🎉
Other cars : 992 Turbo S Lightweight- Porsche GT3 Cup racecar - McLaren 600LT - C7 Corvette Grand Sport street/ track car
9:02 I can definitely hear the supercharger
Dont forget everyone you can still buy a gen 1 cammed CTS-V for about 15-17k and make the same power as this puppy. This car is perfect in every way besides the price.
michingan roads are so smooth a pothole blew off my hubcap :(
That red Toyota Tacoma in the distance looks familiar…
Dude, it's been like 11 years. You think maybe it's time to use a different song to showcase the stereo system lol, but other than that, nice drive.
What's the nurbergring laptime for that POS domestic? 45mins?
Could not find a lap time for the Ring.. But did find this..
At the Dubai Autodrome GP Circuit it ran the 3.34-mile course in 2:17.63 seconds, Making it the fastest production sedan to ever run at the track. To put in perspective It was 6 seconds slower than a Ferrari 488 Pista.
That fast enough for you?
Why would you think it is slow? Has it all... good power, good brakes, great suspension. All for $93K... making it a bargain against anything from Europe that can compete with it.
Dude, the song at 28 minutes I thought that was this kid novaspirit
I thought you already had a Blackwing ?
Regálamela 😊❤❤
Jaw dropped when he got out of the car
If you do not want/need the larger size of the CT5VBW would you put the CT4BW in the same category as a "one car solution"?
The 4BW is an amazing car but it's simply not on the same level as the 5. It just depends on what you need, and what your budget is. The deal with the 5BW is that it's almost too fast to enjoy on the street. If you wring out the top of 3nd gear on an on-ramp you are going crazy fast.
@@57precision This is why I believe the 4BW is just the better DD and a better "one car solution" than the 5BW, as unparalleled as the latter is. I don't want to be driving around town in perpetual 2nd gear.
Chris in the background filming the tacoma is quite proper
Refinement & manual.
M3 and m4 competition are just a completely different beast in terms of acceleration. Also the interior feels alot more luxury sports car. In comparison the caddy just felt plain jane and dated..I was torn between the 2 but i ordered a g80 m3 comp xdrive.
This compared to the m5cs kinda crazy
i love it. i love it. i love it. i love it. someone give me the money to buy one.
I want that to be my valentine
Caddy daddy
This is the M3??? I’m torn.
