Same here. But I got a small MagSafe charging puck and a short 6" USB cable. Cable makes a simple u-bend to the puck which is in the cubby. Personally, new mx5 soft top. It’s something you can drive the wheels off knowing there are no reliability issues. Also, name another useable car at this weight category…
@@Throttle.Monkey awesome thx so much. My only concern on the soft top is the noise when the roof is up. Plus I like the look of the RF a little more. But the soft top is less expensive and also is a true convertible.
@@chattingwithshap8010 the soft top is easier to put up/down and a true convertible, it’s also quieter with the roof down vs the rf with its buffeting issues. The rf offers slightly better isolation when the roof is up and more security with a hard top. In another 5 years I think true soft top lightweight cars will be extinct. Life is too short to drive boring cars.
this car is very nice. I want to purchase one next year. I was thinking about this, or Supra or Z, but the other ones are quite a bit more money, especially since you can get all the bells and whistles on this and it would still be less than the other two. I really want the brown interior however that isn't offered with the red candy color.
I'm looking for an eventual daily for myself. I have a SUV which will be used for family purposes so this isn't going to be a concern. I'm torn between the MX-5 Miata and a BRZ.
They work great and I've seen a number of folks who've gone that route. The extra sidewall helps smooth out road imperfections a little more than the lower profile 17's. Gives it a nice meaty look.
It's a camera setting relating to frame rate that's causing the flickering. That left gauge pod lets you cycle through half a dozen info settings (trip A and B, maintenance interval, distance til empty / compass direction, etc). It's beautifully rendered and blends perfectly with the standard analog tach and speedo that in person you don't realize it's a screen. Zero flickering.
It's a frame rate setting on the camera. The left gauge is a tiny screen that lets you cycle through half a dozen different info displays. In person there is zero flickering and it blends in so well with the analog tach and speedo it looks like a normal gauge.
An ND is a perfect fun daily driver so as long as you don't mind the lack of storage space and the noise, heat/cold, and smell of being exosed to the elements. I did a 400mi trip with 1 month of clothes and belongings all crammed in the car, top down, in the middle of the winter. I can also barely fit three tires in the passenger seat and 1 sticking out a bit in the trunk, just have some tiedowns handy and swapping tires is no issue. I really don't recommend convertible haters this car though. You'll be miserable no matter what. Juts buy a proper coupe, an RF is no substitute. But if you're open to the top down-experience, there really isn't anything that can beat the enjoyment sitting in stop go traffic with the scorching sun beating down on you. :)
If you're going to track - st, if it's just a daily/weekend cruiser - rf, IMHO. Although you could do either or with both, st is lighter and allows for a proper roll bar while the rf can manage weather and noise better. Good luck with your choice 👍
@@JustinDoesTriathlon ST is my preference, too, for the same reasons. But if you have a not-a-Miata now, either would be an improvement. 😁 While I think the RF is very cool and Mazda did a great job with the styling, the flying-buttress design, and mechanical engineering, I absolutely love the soft top. Roof is so easy to operate and when I want it down I want it all the way down without any bulkhead looming over me in my peripheral vision. And with the double-lined GT's soft top I don't think the noise is intrusive with top up. In the Seattle area the winters around here are no problem. Soft top weathers snow and rain like a regular roof. No leaks.

Good combo. Though you could go used ND2. The ND3 upgrades are nice but, wow, big price jump between new '24s and used ND2s.
Love this! Okay, question for anyone. Deciding between soft top - RF or a used Porsche Boxster 2019. Porsche is still about 15k more money. Thoughts?
@@Throttle.Monkeythanks so much for the replies. Much appreciated. I might also wait for the 25 model year to see if they make any changes.
They're all good, but my love for NCs surpasses all. ❤
this car is very nice.
The transmission should feel buttery and smooth, its brand new lol 22' BRZ owner here.
The amount of voice cracks in this video is insane
What camera and mic do you use to do these videos?
It’s a Beautiful Car ! Wish they would haveput White reflectors in the OLD 🐍 Fang LED spot . ❤
Are 16s with meaty tires great on this?
Im planning to put a set of 16” TE37 wrapped in 205/50R16 Bridgestone Potenza RE004
They work great and I've seen a number of folks who've gone that route. The extra sidewall helps smooth out road imperfections a little more than the lower profile 17's. Gives it a nice meaty look.
is the fact that is less tail happy good?🤔 maybe its faster but less fun?
What gadge was blinking and why? Or is the camera missing frames?
It's a camera setting relating to frame rate that's causing the flickering. That left gauge pod lets you cycle through half a dozen info settings (trip A and B, maintenance interval, distance til empty / compass direction, etc). It's beautifully rendered and blends perfectly with the standard analog tach and speedo that in person you don't realize it's a screen. Zero flickering.
I really want to get one of these but sadly I don't think it will work for all the commuting I'll be doing
Taking the clubs out of the bag and packing the golf bag and clubs separately might work
I've heard (not confirmed) that the infotainment can stay touch screen if you dig in the options.

Nice new test track😊
I love my Miata 2024
A Miata is always the answer

Nice top gear reference lol.
Both hands on the wheel, Bud. That stick's not a handhold... ;)
How would you compare this to the gr86/br-z? I'm looking to get either one in the next year or so.
Miata all the way. Much more satisfying to drive.
@@TopherDrives appreciate the reply
Why is your left guage flashing ?
It's a frame rate setting on the camera. The left gauge is a tiny screen that lets you cycle through half a dozen different info displays. In person there is zero flickering and it blends in so well with the analog tach and speedo it looks like a normal gauge.
When I sit behind driver wheel in this car, my eyes are above a windshield
The GT does have auto headlights and adaptive cc
And auto hvac
Yes, but acc only on the auto. Weird because ACC is available on the manual 3
i wish you could try the Sarasota Supersport Miata with the LS swap!
downshift at 20:32 is ORGASMICCCC
This car is proof that fast isn’t everything. I drove an ND1 and a Tesla model 3 performance back to back and the MX5 was A LOT more fun to drive.
What do you suggest? Something like a BMW drop top?
I would put the top up & have the AC on in scorching heat bumper to bumper. Top down on a open highway is fun. Getting to the twistees even more fun.
first view, like and comment. hi subtopher!
It needs an active exhaust, quad exhaust and sport mode in my opinion
I understand Clubs have stiffer ride/suspension than other models.
Stop it, Stop it!. You're going to make me buy one! I'm just having a hard time deciding between the hardtop and soft top.
If you're going to track - st, if it's just a daily/weekend cruiser - rf, IMHO. Although you could do either or with both, st is lighter and allows for a proper roll bar while the rf can manage weather and noise better. Good luck with your choice 👍
Soft, 100%. RF has terrible visibility, feels cramped, and doesn't feel like an open top experience. ST is far superior IMO.
@@JustinDoesTriathlon ST is my preference, too, for the same reasons. But if you have a not-a-Miata now, either would be an improvement. 😁
While I think the RF is very cool and Mazda did a great job with the styling, the flying-buttress design, and mechanical engineering, I absolutely love the soft top.
No leaks.
Gutted I had to trade mine in earlier this year for a more practical car. That being the new Mazda3, which, dare I say, in some respects is comparable to the MX-5 in terms of driver involvement.
I don’t know what’s your definition of “rush hour” is as I could see hardly any traffic!
rush hour commute but I don't see any rush hour during the drive
I JUST TEST DROVE A 2025 THE BRAKES KINDA SUCK SOFT AND 5 AND 5TH GEAR R NOT OVER DRIVE. SIXTH GEAR IS 1-1 WHY? OVER DRIVE 5 TH AND SIXTH AND IMPROVE THE MPG
Please do HDR videos 😊
I sold my 23, regrettably. My wife hated how small it was, and I hated how uncomfortable the GT seats were. I might get another one in future generations though. Otherwise it's a 10/10.
That’s a shame my gf loves the Miata, even getting the rear end loose daily she never has asked me to slow down. Yes I’m very grateful
I find the seats plenty comfortable but I'm 150 lbs.
The recaro seats will help for sure
Still looks happy! Haha
You have ruined the tail lights for me with one sentence... Well played
Mazda should allow the buyers to add BBS and Brembo pack to the top trim😢
why does it have two antennas
Sharkfin is for siriusXM, the regular one is for regular radio
