      Using this card 30 times in a month just would not work for most folks. Also, the grocery category is essentially $500/month. I would find more utility with the fee Citi Custom Cash at 5% on grocery spend without a required # of transactions. Today, I use my Citi Custom Cash once each month to purchase a single $500 gift card at my favorite supermarket. Amex can do better!

      The SUB is currently 40K. I expect 60K if it gets refreshed. Btw, the SUB rules are kinda wonky, so if you have either the gold or plat, you might not be able to get a SUB on the green.

    I have no experience with the Amex cards, but I do have a question that I'm very curious about. Would I be able to transfer the membership points from the Gold card, to Delta, and then from Delta, to LATAM airlines?

    Considering the Plat gives Clear and Lounge access, I think Amex should drop the credits and the annual fee entirely, that would get platinum holders to put that spend on the green instead of competitors, while also communicating to green holders that amex wants all three cards to work together

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards
      @RSquared-travel-rewards  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! But unfortunately on their charge cards they need to make money from AFs, so I don't see them eliminating its AF. I'm a fan of 4X on gas, 4x on transit @ $95. oh and keep 3X on flights similar to the Gold. Drop clear and lounge access. They own lounge buddy so that wasn't costing them anything anyway.

    Probably like a lot of other people, I get the main benefits that the Green card offers from other cards, so it doesn't give me much value. I hold all three of these Amex cards. And honestly I feel like this should be the real trifecta instead of the blue business plus because the bbp is a business credit card and shouldn’t be mixed with personal cards. So the changes Amex should do on the green is lower the annual fee down to $95 & add multipliers like : 2 x on Everything, 3 x on gas & 3 x on Entertainment. Keep clear as benefit and remove it from the platinum to not double down on same benefits twice. Also make it a green metal card to match with its other 2 bigger brothers.

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards
      @RSquared-travel-rewards  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with you about this being part of the real trifecta. I can't imagine a scenario where Amex would remove clear from the platinum. That would result in too much disruption. Their travel users holding the platinum rely on such perks and wouldn't want the hassle of having to pick up another card. Amex would never force their big spenders to have to grab another card just for clear.

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards
      @RSquared-travel-rewards  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's another reason to punt on this card. Amex needs to address the issue with SUBs and fix this card asap. Once you have the plat, you'd only get this card for the sub then cancel. Also 40K MR points is extremely weak.
