- I was completely shocked at what my former co-worker told me. When I was driving around trying to find someone to help out, I get a call from my former co-worker that told me that his father-in-law's property needs mowing. The front yard had been maintained, but the backyard was super overgrown and completely dry. Back in January, John (father-in-law) had a stroke, and his son told everybody that he'd "take care of him and the property" during his recovery. Well looks like he never did. And what makes things worse is my former co-worker told me that his brother-in-law stole $150,000.00 from his fathers bank account. Secret got out, and now they are fighting to get his fathers money back. Pray for this family that all of this will get settled.

This hit hard in all honesty. My dad has had a stroke and is completely paralysed down side and bed bound. My mum is awaiting a new hip and has very limited mobility. I quit my job and now take care of them full time. They wiped my arse for enough years, its only the right thing to do to care for them now.
How someone can do this to a parent is beyond me. Utterly disgusting !! Fantastic work helping this guy out, this is what humanity is meant to look like !

Yes, very much so. Those two lost arborvitaes are another project altogether. Their trunks are extremely durable & straight & can be used to edge flowerbeds. The weeds are dead, but the grass is dormant and will come back. An episode like this drought has that much going for it I guess.

Stealing is wrong but stealing from your parents means that you don’t love them. And when you steal from a parent that's sick and helpless means that you are a lost soul. He will not enjoy this money. May God protect and comfort this father. Thank your for helping him. God bless.
Based on how he spent it- pretty much in less than a year- he really enjoyed it. For instance- an unlimited budget trip to Disney on our dad's birthday.

Great transformation! Prayers that the situation gets rectified, and that the elderly gentleman recovers well from his stroke. To steal from anyone is deplorable, but to steal from one's own parent that suffered a stroke is incomprehensible.

It was so pleasing to see such a large property was not full of trash and fallen trees. It is anxiety provoking thinking you will run into a cement block. Overgrown yards in the south seem to propagate them.
Dad takes pride in taking care of his property. He's always made sure that even living alone, he's kept his retirement years full of activity.

Hopefully it won't rot away much longer. My father-in-law is a mechanic and when we can arrange to bring it out here to the east coast, it will be restored for my daughter, who treasures Grampy and vintage vehicles- Ford trucks being a particular favorite.😊

I hope that the son gets what he deserves in spades. In many situations, turning the other cheek is not an option ... but an eye for an eye does. Hope this elderly man gets his money and life back. This is just a guess but some times when that large sum of money can be drugs or gambling. I am only guessing nothing else I will pray for some kind of recovery physical and spiritual.

It's early days- we discovered the issue in May, but things are proceeding on the legal front.
My father couldn't have imagined $150k.
I get it. Dad was enlisted AF and has been pinching pennies for decades to get to this point. His savings was wiped out and credit ruined. To think, I told Dad years ago to take care of himself and use the money to enjoy his retirement years. He was saving for all of us kids and personally, I would rather know he lived a full life than sacrifice it all to pass down when he is gone.
This great country has turned from God and people doesn't have any compassion for anyone anymore, God Bless you for all you do to help others .
