It doesn't really learn from you. It just has a different behavior tree that makes it act in a certain way under certain conditions like using a certain object too much or hiding too many times in lockers. So it can learn but only from less than a dozens of actions and then it's over, the AI stays the same
It feels like that's the room in the game where the alien is most likely to check underneath a table because you are forced to go into that room and so the developers want to show off that feature so players don't complete the game thinking they were immune by hiding underneath the props in the game

I find that if you hide in a locker it will choose that room to search rather than others. I've played through it several times and seen it cheating. And the player cheating, even on nightmare
Here is a warning the alien does sometimes pull a fuck you and act like it doesn’t know where you are then suddenly charge and pull you out from under a table (once I was hiding and it walked past went into another room stood there for a minute then ran as fast as it can back to the des I was under and pulled me out and killed me)
That may be because you were exposed enough for it to determine that you were there, the man that did this xenomorph trolling right here minimizes the alien's line of sight of him and thus the alien couldn't find where he is for eight minutes straight even though it knew that he was in the room due to the banging noise.
the AI in this game is really smart, the only thing I dont like about it is how it is "forced" to check the closet you`r hiding in, makes closets useless especially on high difficulty.
Not really. Ive completed this on nightmare twice and i often get away with hiding in lockers. Its part chance and partly down to how much noise you made.
Yep! Luckily I figured out that sweet spot between under the table and about to get up so that its ai doesn't see me as it goes to check my desk. Of course, with each agitation the ai gets smarter and sharper until it pinpoints you

Why did you stand all the way up every time you snuck out from under the desk when it was checking underneath it, and how did it not see you standing there when it straightened up?
the higher the difficulty you play on, the worse the tracker becomes. On nightmare, which is what I was playing on in this video, hides the UI, and makes the tracker broken and very hard to read c: For immersion purposes and difficulty

Typically, when you troll the alien you want to have either one of those corner desks or a double desk nearby.
I troll the xeno but that's normally so I know where it is, scarier not knowing where it is than knowing where it is
