If your experience is the same as ours, as one researches cooking techniques there are so many ways to cook in the air fryer. I like all your recipes but where I deviate is the pre-heat. I'm a big American Test Kitchen fan and bought one of their cookbooks. In it they say you don't need to pre-heat, this mirrors my experience as I have tried both pre-heat and no pre-heat, I can't tell the difference. The area is so small that it heats up quickly regardless of preheat or not. I did add one minute added to the cook time for a pre-heat while the item was being cooked but I stopped doing that, the only results were an increased risk of over doneness. I might add, we own the Ninja dual fryer so the baskets are a little smaller than your single basket. The nice thing with the Ninja duel basket is you can synchronise cooking times, so if the left basket is 400 F for 20 minutes and the right basket is 350 for 13 minutes, the machine will hold the right basket to kick in at the right time so both are done at the same time.
I just got that model she's using. First thing I did was two frozen chicken breasts. Little olive oil on the outside, Smokehouse Maple seasoning. New here.... Great tips...I just got my air fryer for Christmas.... I'm surprised I can do bacon in air fryer... I thought they splattered too much... Thanks for the great tips and recipes
I'm the guy that has 2 air fryers. One of them doubles as a toaster, proofing oven, general convection oven (because that's what an air fryer really is...) and the other has two different baskets, that can cook things at two different temps for 2 different times. The bad part of that is that each of the baskets is only half the size. So you can see why I have that convection oven/air fryer/proofing oven. Coincidentally, that convection oven/air fryer/proofing oven/toaster/roaster/etc (there's about 19 things it'll do) works a treat for proofing bread dough.
@@reginaschellhaas1395 Between 90°F and 115°F. That should do it in any proofing box. I once tried it in my oven, and it basically killed the yeast, baked the bread too soon, and ruined the thing. Ovens can't go that low, hence the need for a second air fryer that doubled as a proofing oven (it was one of it's selling points, and the reason I paid more than $200 for it)
@@Estranged180 Thank you! We just purchased a Gourmia 7Qrt for $40 at Costco. Shockingly, my non-cooking husband saw it, recommended because he listens to "A Splendid Table". Figured we couldn't go wrong for $40. And we can upgrade if we love and want to invest. As we get older (two seniors) safety and convenience are going to be worth extra $$$. My forearms don't heal as well from smacking on the sides of the oven, plus my balance is going a bit. Could fall in head first, not good. I have a 18yr old duel-fuel range, love the convection, but can't set it low enough to proof, unless I heat and fiddle. Or I had the dead yeast problem, food and effort lost, I feel your pain! . Decades past I used to heat towels in the dryer, set bread in to proof. Absolute disaster was one button away! I'm in my mid-sixties, and I can see the traditional "range" that I grew up with being supplanted by these small, hopefully energy efficient appliances. At this point in life, I would miss my gas burners, but I think I could adapt to sautéing in my Instant Pot. Winter is my bread baking time, but we barely had a winter in NC, not cold enough to heat the big oven. So I'm going to try an AF rolls receipt. Thanks for the proofing temps! May all your bread rise well and cook to perfection!
@@reginaschellhaas1395 All good, but there's more to the story. Apparently, our oven doesn't like baking bread, so I had to find a decent solution. When I say that 'we're not made of money', things sound a little odd when I say them. Things like 'finding a solution to baking fresh bread'. The solution came in the form of a Zojirushi bread oven. This thing is amazing, and it's worth the cost. Here's what it does. It came with measuring cups, a measuring spoon, and a liquid measuring cup. It also came with two recipe books for all the bread you could possibly want, but one of them is, oddly enough, in French. Find the recipe in the book for the bread you want to make, dump the ingredients into the pan, and choose your darkness preference. Then sit back, do nothing, and let it do it's job. I don't have many single use items in my kitchen, fire extinguisher being one of the only ones. This bread oven will mix, rest, rise, punch down, rise, and bake a loaf of bread. Or, if you choose, you can tell it not to bake the bread, and you can use the dough for pizza (has it's own recipe for that) or rolls. It makes a 2 lb loaf. I use it about twice a week, because bread prices have gone haywire.
@@Estranged180 Finding a solution makes perfect sense, especially if you can produce bread that you love, vs a loaf that's a of waste ingredients and time! Your Zojirushi bread oven seems to fit the bill. Thanks for telling me about it. And some sort of bread is "the staff of life" for many cultures and people around the world. Very valuable! My first experience with a bread oven was in mid/late 1990s. My friend group had "potlucks" for the ten of us, every 2 months. One friend always offered to make bread in her bread machine....she was a wealthy woman, could afford the best. The bread was horrible, not only dry (butter could be added, of course!) but flavorless. At first, I thought this was "just one batch". But no, the second dinner was the same. I avoided the bread plate from then on. Evidently, bread machine/ ovens have advanced over the decades, and I trust your judgment and "good taste", heh, heh! I will keep this in mind, and you have described it so well, thank you! But, I haven't bought any sort of bread for well over a year. In our 2 person senior citizen home, bread is a huge treat! Making bread in winter 2021/22 was like serving dessert. But it never got cold 2022/23. So I will use your proofing instructions, and try to make a small batch of rolls, after finding a recipe for the AF on another channel. Should be enough for two people, and I can do another batch, based on your proofing instructions. Thank you so much!
Have cooked egg rolls chicken, can put a small to medium frozen pizza in my case I have to cut it & stack in the basket, nothing fancy just a frozen pizza?.
Is the broccoli frozen or do we thaw it first? That applies to a lot of things air fryer videos talk about. Do the food item instructions strictly refer to thawed out food, or…..????
I trust anyone who knows the delicious difference between regular butter and browned butter! ❤❤❤ Pro tip… dipping your finger in browned butter will NOT yield the results you expect 😅
Try marinating a tender type of steak with teriyaki sauce (I use Mr. Yoshida's), poking holes in the meat so it'll marinate well. I cook it in the air fryer on the steak setting--it is to die for! Another treat is cooking pepperoni slices in the AF until crispy or even leftover chicken skin (tastes like bacon).
I just used mine to make wings cause thats what i cook in the oven but now i get why its called air FRYER wings came out like the had been fried and dont get me wrong oven was good but the crispyness of them having being "fried" omg! So good! So ima go sausages bacon and sht next!!! 😂😂 ima go crazy french fries fish sticks cheese sticks and all i can think that i used to fry 😂😂😂 and will get creative after i get used to it 🙊🙊🙊 flour tortilla quesadilla with carne asada inside lots of cheese then ad guacamole and ill see what else 😂.
Nice video... But you do need to clarify that an air fryer is not equal to microwave. A microwave is for cooking (softening interiors) whereas an air fryer is for crisping (cooking n browing outer later) of food..very much like convection mode of a microwave.
Us in the UK are bewildered by the US delight in chicken wings. A British chicken wing is just a bit of bone and skin, nothing to eat there. Is there a special breed of chook with big meaty wings?
Love your videos, but as a guy that spent 30 years in Seattle please dont listen to the FDA on the 145 for salmon....I get it, they need to cover their you know what, but it will be dry and boring. I've cooked our salmon to 125 for years and have never had issues plus it stays moist and juicy.....just my 2 cents
I love using air fryer .... But I have heard that some studies says its not safe to use ..... please if any one can link pros and cons of air fryer! Thanks in advance
@foodlifedairywithnargisahm5081 an air fryer is just a small “convection oven”. The “unsafe” part would be cooking too many foods at too high temperatures, such as 400 degrees, which can be solved by having lower temperatures such as 380. Occasionally cooking at 400 degrees (200 C) is not bad. Another “unsafe” part of air fryer cooking would be spraying the food with a type of oil that is unhealthy. Avocado oil or olive oil are both good oils. But the pros are that you don’t have to cook as long, and can use lower temperatures, you don’t have to use your big oven, and you can put the food right in the basket, no pan needed, at least with the basket type machine. Cooking a packaged food, you lower the temperature on the package by 25 degrees, and cook 10% less minutes. And you can “fry” things in an air fryer instead of deep frying them, much healthier.
you are rough with your beautiful instant pot air fryer, wish i had one ; ( also can you please show me what the finish broccoli looks like because you did not show it,was it because they burned? i bet they did lol

I just got the same air fryer as your using the instructions say not to put foil or dishes in it?
For the steak and salmon do you use the bake or air fryer button?
Replace sausage with chicken breast in bacon wrapped smokies use brown sugar and cumin
Just got my air fryer today
So helpful thank you
Just add granulated garlic to the pizza. No need to add the extra sodium.
Is the broccoli frozen or do we thaw it first? That applies to a lot of things air fryer videos talk about. Do the food item instructions strictly refer to thawed out food, or…..????
Do you recommend a certain type and or size
You know how to manage food with an air fryer girl ❤😂🎉😢😮
Bacon wrapped smokies are called "pigs in blankets" over in the UK.
Thanks so much 😊
Love how you say you made it!! 😂
I dont have an air fryer, but doesnt the bacon shoot grease upwards ? Wouldnt it hit the heating element and be hard to clean ?
I trust anyone who knows the delicious difference between regular butter and browned butter! ❤❤❤ Pro tip… dipping your finger in browned butter will NOT yield the results you expect 😅
Looks delicious! 💝
Thank you 🤩🤩🤩💖💖
I decided to buy a Cosori Air Fryer because it doesn't have forced "preheat" built in so no waiting.
What kind of air fryer do u have
Great video, thank you
Wonderful thanks so much love it
Nice 👍 big like Kiya my friend stay connected
Some of us use air fryers to eat healthier you know... Putting grease on leftovers is a great way to eat healthier... Way to go girl
Thank you 😊
Can you use frozen broccoli???
You can! But it will taste more steamed than roasted
What temp and time for sausage
Not eco friendly but using air fryer liners does save on clean up for messy foods.
Nice video... But you do need to clarify that an air fryer is not equal to microwave. A microwave is for cooking (softening interiors) whereas an air fryer is for crisping (cooking n browing outer later) of food..very much like convection mode of a microwave.
Do you ever use a liner in the basket?
I always use a liner, I hate washing up 😂
Be aware they air fryer coating is Teflon which was suppose to be banned from cookware!
What brand of Airfryer is best to buy
I have Ninja Dual zone, you can cook two different things at the same time.
great video
What brand is your air fryer ?
Thanks!
Thank you so much, friend! Happy new year!!
Thank you☺️👍🙏
Yummmmm
How do you clean your air flyer
Hot soapy water, but I buy the paper liners, job done
Thank you
25lt air fryer anko kmart the best, plus oven....great great great
Us in the UK are bewildered by the US delight in chicken wings. A British chicken wing is just a bit of bone and skin, nothing to eat there. Is there a special breed of chook with big meaty wings?
🤣🤣yall just need to feed your chickens more
Have to by me one I hate using the oven
Love your videos, but as a guy that spent 30 years in Seattle please dont listen to the FDA on the 145 for salmon....I get it, they need to cover their you know what, but it will be dry and boring. I've cooked our salmon to 125 for years and have never had issues plus it stays moist and juicy.....just my 2 cents
I love using air fryer ....
But I have heard that some studies says its not safe to use ..... please if any one can link pros and cons of air fryer! Thanks in advance
ITS NOT FRAYER ITS FRYER
@@janehyden1652 yes know it's just a typing error
@Gerrie Bell thank you so much for your comprehensive reply.
you are rough with your beautiful instant pot air fryer, wish i had one ; ( also can you please show me what the finish broccoli looks like because you did not show it,was it because they burned? i bet they did lol
Next time you do a video, could you tell time and temperature
Is it possible to mention not only Fahrenheit but also Celsius? This makes it for the rest of the world bit easier.
I feel this way about the videos that only use Celsius. Lol. Just do both...until us in the USA get on board with the metric system. 😂
Can I cook steak chicken shrimp salmon
Yes, yes, yes, and yes 😊
