I witnessed my neighbor reduce his reputation and his estate through gambling. He was a millionaire with acreage, a successful business, and a paid off home he built himself. He died broke and was living off helocs. It was a sad and humiliating ending to the life of an otherwise good man. Don't gamble!
One time I casually asked a co-worker if she watched any football over the last weekend. She told me no... she can't stand football. Her Dad was a gambler and her house was a house of pain if he lost money on a football game.
I shop at Costco, Publix and Aldi. I hope Publix never goes out of business because the store is a good neighbor to the community. I see my elderly neighbor riding around on a scooter shopping, they bag your groceries and will assist you in bringing them to your vehicle. Many people do not need the assistance however many do. Plus fond memories( years ago ) of bakery donations to my son’s elementary school for their yearly walk-a-thon . I’m not sure if donations are still made . Publix is not always the cheapest but I find great deals like at other grocery stores. I agree sports gambling is on the rise. I don’t gamble and can’t remember the last time I bought a lottery ticket. I’m proud like you Clark of the American people and their strength and resilience after the attack on September 11th . Today is a day to honor the victims of September 11 th 🇺🇸
Thank you for your touching tribute to 9/11 and the brave heroes aboard Flight 93 who sacrificed themselves to avoid more bloodshed and disaster. I did not know any of them personally, but they deserve to live on in our memories. We are a very resilient country, and we need to once again summon the courage to fight against those who try to bring our country down. We must always remain vigilant and never let anyone take our freedoms or our country away. Not being political here, both sides have infringed on our freedoms. I was working nights on 9/11/01 and had just gotten up and turned the tv on for background noise when I heard/saw what happened. I initially thought it must be part of some movie or something, but saw it on other channels as well. It was just unbelievable. I'm not as optimistic as you, Clark. I don't think we've done a great job. Those on the ground that day in NY did a great job, as did the local leaders. But, we've become soft again, and open to further attacks. We must never forget, and always remain vigilant.
Thank you! both for your information you bring to us! and Secondly (more importantly) your words about 9/11 ! and we remain strong and we will not go back!
It might not be related to online sports betting but there seem to be people who regularly spend money on State lotteries and scratch off tickets, seems to me that those people as a group would be doing better to be putting that regular spend into a mutual fund account or even into a Roth IRA at a brokerage if the yearly amount of the spend is within the IRA threshold allowed.
Fact … see people spending 20/40/100 bucks at a crack at gas stations or the grocery store service desk… most of them look like they can’t afford it but who knows. I pitch in my 2$ at my former employer when the big ones get high. I can afford it
Dollar General is an embarrassment to retailing their stores are a disaster, terribly understaffed. They made a big push into food and beverage and nobody is buying food at DG.
My family for many years was decimated by gambling. I had a family member stressed to a fatal heart attack & saw a parent gamble their entire savings & house away while a senior! They ended up penniless at 75. Promoting gambling is like promoting any other addiction, it's very dangerous & hurts many. I've seen enough damage by others & refuse to gamble one cent.
I bought a Tesla Model Y in April. I love it. The sales and delivery experience was perfect. Absolutely no sales pressure. No price haggling. When you're ready to buy, you just open the app on your phone and buy it. It has not yet needed any service. I've seen a lot of improvements to the FSD with over-the-air updates.
Agreed. On my third Tesla. Zero purchase and service issues. No service center in my state because of legacy auto corruption not allowing Tesla to operate here. Not Tesla’s fault.
Mortgage amortization is different than simple interest calculator. Pay off home and be debt free, dirt different paid for. Make more NOT paying Amortization Loan. Run numbers yourself. Think bad advice, at show the option and let person make own decision
Aldi's aisle of shame, Caw Caw, is a big draw for me. Their seasonal specials on goods is always fun to see. The customers there for that are fun and friendly too.

@@Clark Oh my bad... People are losing their jobs and can't afford to buy merchandise according to your own reporting and yet this somehow indicates a strong economy... I guess you missed the -818,000 revision to the jobs numbers and record credit card debt too...

Not an Aldi fan. Customer Service at the checkout is not good. Don't buy bread, chips or fragile items. They grab it, crush and ruin your fruit vegetables, chips or bread. Too focused on speed and not enough on quality. I spend too much time trying to find quality items to let them destroy it at the checkout. I'd rather go to Walmart and do self check. My Aldi,s is a very disappointing experience. Good show. Thanks

Krista gal finally got matching outfit. Vey vey
I have heard that Aldi bases their prices on the other supermarkets that are nearby. We have a WalMart near and Aldi is almost always cheaper

Purposely paying late on a mortgage is complete idiocy.
It's not considered late if it is paid within the grace period. 💚

Great tip, Clarkie! 🙌

💯 Agree! Sorry gambling has destroyed your family. We hope this gambling warning didn't feel like 'promoting' to you. 💚
@@Clark You were warning not promoting. so no problem at all. I was describing all excessive sports betting ads that are everywhere lately.

💯 We encourage using amortization schedules to pay off mortgages early.
Great show as usual. Is there a place where I can find all the products that are marked down. I may have missed the info
Yes! Here are items on deep discount in September: clark.com/save-money/september-deals/
Why gamble on sports games with imperfect officiating? Seems very foolish.
Great show 😊

Agreed, but I call it the “aisle of surprises” 😂 (put a good spin on it) Caw caw!!
Dollar General is not really a dollar store anymore. They've become a convenience store.
Not wrong. But still much cheaper than any 7-11 or any gas mart.

The stuff Estellantis makes is way overpriced junk.
For those who know better than to ever gamble, no warning is needed.
For those dumb enough to ever gamble, any warning is a waste of breath.
I have not noticed any price reductions at Walmart. The price on the Extra Virgin Olive Oil has nearly doubled in the past 4 months.
Price on that has also increased pretty significantly at Aldi.
Looks like extra virgin olive oil prices have gone up everywhere due to drought conditions, poor harvest, and high demand. 💚

Anyone that wants to be paid “off the record” has issues with honesty and credibility. Do you really want someone like that working in your home?

Our Aldi has self checkout.
I have never had that happen to me. I'm sorry it happened to you.
Must be your location. Never have that issue. The staff at my Aldi are courteous as well as fast at checkout.
