he played that from 2004-2006 he didn't miss beat it just 1/4 "push to the right" and starting from 2/4 click of metronome so some pp could think or feel it's a mistake but becouse before he endend from 4/4 to 1/4 with his snare hits and crash hits and the gap from 1/4 to 2/4 is fullfily with little 2 bass hit and china hit when munky already started the main riff on 1/4 - it not a mistake it just a feel/drummer's grove so some pp don't like it (like Lars half crash blast between 1/4-2/4; 2/4-3/4; 3/4-4/4 hehe); then he back without any errors to normal playing of metronome to 1/4, 2/4/ 3/4, 4/4... hehe
Agree, Ray is far superior from a technical perspective but Dave's clunky sound and swing groove feel were a huge part of Korn's sound. I liked a lot of their post-Dave stuff but they were never the same
