Sorry. He was defeated at tenerife and lost his arm .
The English armada defeted by the Spanish empire trying to attack La coruña and tenerife and besides the biggest fleet led by Vernon heading to the Spanish Caribe was defeated by Blas de Lezo at Cartagena de indias COLOMBIA.
Spanish empire on wich the sun never set ruled the overseas and the first country sailing around the world led by JUAN SEBASTIAN EL CANO Y MAGALLANES..
less English propaganda and learn about the real English history at school.

@@juanmorales5133 I'm well aware of Nelson's defeat at Tenerife, of which he had recovered from before continuing to serve successfully.
Spain ceased to be a formidable empire after becoming nothing more than a French puppet, until finally having almost all of its empire conquered and annexed by the English-speaking U.S. in just three months. While the Spaniards were raping and enslaving the Cubans and Filipinos, the British was building a dynasty in a newly unified and massive empire in India.

@@briansheehan3430 tell me another joke hahaha.
      English propaganda.
If the Spanish empire was weak then ..why the biggest invasion leed by Vernon until the second world war was defeated by Blas de lezo at Cartagena of indias?
Almost 195 vessel were defeated in Colombia against 6 Spanish ships and 6000 men against 195 English ships and 25000 men.
It was a shame for England. Bankrupt and the tale between legs.
Of course...English do not mention it on history books. .
      Englush PIRATES
      THE SPANISH CONQUISTADORES.
There us a good BBC tv program about the Spanish armada telling the biggest lie and how queen isabel let all the English sailors down after the bad weather spread the Spanish armada because there was not any battle.
Aftermath was that the kingdom of spain leapt ruling the overseas and England picking the leftover up.
Tell me what you boast about and I tell your lack.
Spanish empire on wich the sun never set.
By the way....England is now a USA' muppet.
