The HMS Hermione Mutiny 1797
The mutiny aboard the royal navy frigate HMS Hermione is almost unknown in wider circles yet those dramatic events in 1797 were more savage and brutal than those famously acted out eight years earlier aboard the Bounty.
Whereas William Bligh has been unfairly labeled a tyrant, the same accusation of unfairness can not be said about Captain Hugh Pigot.

The greatest naval disaster was at Cartagena of indias or Spanish caribe. The biggest English fleet led by Vernon was defeated by Blas de Lezo in Colombia and besides the English armada defeted at tenerife and la Coruña north of Spain. England must learn from its mistakes.

@@juanmorales5133 I'm well aware of Nelson's defeat at Tenerife, of which he had recovered from before continuing to serve successfully. Spain ceased to be a formidable empire after becoming nothing more than a French puppet, until finally having almost all of its empire conquered and annexed by the English-speaking U.S. in just three months. While the Spaniards were raping and enslaving the Cubans and Filipinos, the British was building a dynasty in a newly unified and massive empire in India.

@@briansheehan3430 tell me another joke hahaha. English propaganda. If the Spanish empire was weak then ..why the biggest invasion leed by Vernon until the second world war was defeated by Blas de lezo at Cartagena of indias? Almost 195 vessel were defeated in Colombia against 6 Spanish ships and 6000 men against 195 English ships and 25000 men. It was a shame for England. Bankrupt and the tale between legs. Of course...English do not mention it on history books. . Englush PIRATES THE SPANISH CONQUISTADORES. There us a good BBC tv program about the Spanish armada telling the biggest lie and how queen isabel let all the English sailors down after the bad weather spread the Spanish armada because there was not any battle. Aftermath was that the kingdom of spain leapt ruling the overseas and England picking the leftover up. Tell me what you boast about and I tell your lack. Spanish empire on wich the sun never set. The speaker forgot to tell, the only reason Nelson and Parker could pass down through Øresund ( the strait between Denmark and Sweden) was because the Cannons in Helsingborg did not fire a single shot, so the English fleet could avoid the Cannons placed on Kronborg the fortress in Helsingør. If the swede had done a little damage and Kronborg had the chance to fire upon the British fleet Nelson would never had won in Copenhagen, and after such an attack the British should fear the Danish fleet
