Does anybody have an idea what happened in game 2?
I couldn't recreate it and I've never seen anything like it on Arena 🤔
Remember to tap that like button ⤵👍
i’ve encountered a situation like this before with excessive Grapshot storm counts
however, I just clicked “no attacks” and my opponent started doing things (note: the opponent in game 2 might have just been afk as a rage quit from your infinite)
I think what happens here is that when you run out of time, the game makes you automatically pass priority on everything on the stack, then gives you an extra timer string to declare attackers… but that timer string starts _while the stack is still resolving_
If the stack takes too long to resolve (which is really easy with how slow the Grapeshot damage animation is), you can run out of time before you could _do_ anything with that time… but the game still thinks it’s your attack step because that’s what was supposed to happen after the stack resolved
@@secondslash587 Interesting 🤔 I guess it was bm to not click No Attacks then 🤣 I wanted to see if I could attack in their attack step once their timer was gone
pressing no attacks fixes it, i think. i've been on the side of the opponent before
@@taode. Oh interesting! Did you just not get priority or did it look like the opponent was choosing attackers as well?
I've got a deck with a similar bug to this. It's caused by the timer ticking down while the stack is resolving. For me what happens is I use the rosie/scurry oak combo while a bunch of Soul warden effects and Trelasarra, Moon Dancer are out. If I got to the end of the timer making squirrels all the life gain triggers the Trelasarra, Moon Dancer scrying. Each scry takes so long it burns through the opponents rope, then my rope back and forth until the stack is empty usually ending in my opponent's forced concession due to time out.
Always a good Sunday when we get some more Brewer's Kitchen.
True
My guess is that you aren't supposed to be able to time out during Upkeep, or at peast its not normal enough for programmers to put in safeguards for it. The system probably got confused since you timed out technically before your turn started
...your upkeep is absolutely during your turn.
@@servantofcygnus computers are dumb like that. December 28th is before the start of the new year, but Twitter still had other ideas a few years back.
I've had it happen where my opponent's timer runs out after mine during my first main phase, I don't think it's tied to upkeep.
Your timer goes up when you target something, even if it is a copy.
"Novel ways to break Arena" might be a more fitting name for this series. As always, truly a joy to watch 😊
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love all of SPBKASO's content, it got me back into magic in the first place. That said, I cannot understate how absolutely golden every one of Phil's videos are. I don't typically comment on videos, but I am now because I want to make sure both the algorithm and MTGGoldfish know that his videos are S+++++++ tier, I don't care how few and far between they are. The quality speaks for itself!
Thank you! 🤩
Yeah Phil is the best. The rest of the guys need to up their game. Don't get me wrong, I like them all. But Phil is on another level for watchability.
Phil is easily the best gameplay MtG content creator on TH-cam
I don't comment on videos on youtube. But when I do it's on Phil's videos.
What's spbkaso
Doesn’t every phil episode create too many triggers 😂
Yeah the deck is the classic infinite two-card combo + payoff, didn't want to use Infinite Mill since I already did that last video 😅
I uses to play selesnya life gain last year and ended up getting mached with mono white angels. The game on arena lasted for 3 hours with both me and the opponent swinging in for >1000 damage a turn in the engame. Game ended because i ran out of card in my deck. Still one of my fondest arena games ever
I keep a single copy of Ajani strength of the pride in my selesnya angels deck for the mirror. Exiling a double digit number of 20 - 50 p/t angels while both players are at 500+ life is just priceless
This reminds me of the time Hearthstone let you stack so many triggers with the Shudderwock that the animations would take up your opponent's whole and prevent them from doing anything until they timed out and it was your turn again
I recently learned Naru Meha is a cEDH commander so it's funny to see a Brewer's Kitchen using her right after
I love all the creators on MTGgoldfish, but Phil has a special place in my heart. Happy to see a new video from the Kitchen 😍
You know it's funny, I was just thinking the other day "man it's been a bit since I've seen a Phil video" and here we are, great way to end the day.
I've been stuck in that bug. Pressing No Attacks will fix it.
Oh yeah, I guess it's like regular timing out then. I wanted to see if I could attack in their attack step if their timer runs out
@@BrewersKitchen i was afraid I'd crash the game and lose my win, so I'm glad you tried, for science!
I get so happy when you upload it makes my day 1058205976279492% better
This might be my new favorite blink value deck
Glad to see your videos are still coming! You definitely have the best voice for this series
The deck is cool, but I'm only here to hear "BONUS GAME!" 10/10
Whoo! New Brewer's Kitchen! Meaning, no more wildcards for the next week.
This is what we needed a nother Brewer's Kitchen video
Naban getting some love! He's been a favorite commander of mine since he came out!
Phil's videos get me excited. Thanks for breaking Arena, lol.
*Thanks for the Content!*
Bonus game against Seth, lol.
Always a great day when a brewer's kitchen video shows up! Love your style :)
always a pleasure to see a new Brewer's Kitchen video uploaded. Keep Up the good work!
Return of the King. 👑
I love your content and I don't even play MTG lol. I like every video up front because so far - and I mean this- I've liked every video you've done.
Specifically Brewer's Kitchen. The other two I see on this channel, not so much.
Been looking forward to another of your videos!
thank you mr. brewer
Finally!! We can see some elite gameplay from the best TH-camr: Phil
You know what makes me angry? Not seeing more of your content. Love your videos.
Naru meha!!! That’s my cEDH Commander. 🤩
Love the content!
These videos are so good!
Lol you always come up with these over the top trigger decks and it's awesome bravo good sir😂
New Brewer's Kitchen gobbless. Haven't even watched yet, but I'm liking and leaving a comment for engagement o7
babe wake up new azorious dualcaster mage just dropped
Naru Meha also combos nicely with ghostly flicker, you can blink for example Sunscorched Desert with Naru Meha and get infinite ping in a mono-blue deck.
I do love me a good Flicker deck
Didn't expect to see Ian
I love this series
Ah great job was waiting doe new episode:)
Yo algo, bump this quality content up.
Whoever is editing is brilliant. Was engaged the whole time.
Thank you! 🙏
@@BrewersKitchenhey man, you are awesome. Thank you for your beautiful content bro. Not that it’s important, but I got my constructed alchemy mythic rank title recently. Used mono red Aggro (1/2 monastery monk prowess/fiery inscription/burn spells etc). I’m stoked I was able to do it because the deck only has 3 wilds in it!! Everything else is common or uncommon. Can’t believe I was able to get to that rank with 99% commons/uncommons.
It begs the question,
- is mono red a problem lol? I feel I made that point because I can’t believe you can get to the highest rank on alchemy with mono red aggro with at most 3-4 wild cards😂, what’s your opinion?
P.s.- 3 out of 4 wilds is Feldon, Ronom Excavator
The 4th, Ofcourse, is squee, dubious monarch lol
20 seconds into the first game, I already knew this was gonna be good
Yeah boy, Brewers video 🤩🤩🤩
I see brewers kitchen, I like.
My favorite mechanic (blink) AND brewer's kitchen!? Today is a great day
Always glad to see a new Brewer's Kitchen video! Have you been playing any of the no banlist Historic? I built a pretty gross Simic ramp deck with Oko, Nexus of Fate, and Agent of Treachery (Yorion as companion, of course). Seems like a very Phil deck, lol.
Also funny thing about Oko now - using his +1 on a permanent you control warns you, meaning they view it as a negative effect now, despite them originally designing it with the intention for you to primarily use the +1 on your own permanents (which is why they didn't realize how busted Oko was).
Yep, I actually feel like this format has a lot of potential. Maybe add Force of Negation and some other safety valves and make it Bo3. I'd love to see how the meta would shape up
Babe wake up new brewers kitchen video just dropped
Brewer's kitchen best videos
the arena timer needs to be fixed for combo decks to increase by like 2 second if you're doing actions that actually progress the game state
That would create it’s own issues though, imagine your opponent is making infinite creature tokens but you have a board wipe in your hand. If the timer extended with each of their actions, you would have to wait for your opponent to decide that they’ve looped their combo enough, which if they have the dedication could be many many hours
@@OceanicBacon there can be a middle ground where it still runs out, but it wouldn't run out before you looped a reasonable number is times for opponents on the higher end of the life or deck size bell curves
The game watching you spam ‘All Attack’ rather than ‘No Attack’ be like: “Ah ah ah! You didn’t say the magic word!”
I love that Phil just wakes up and goes "hmmm today I will crash arena" every video 😂😂
What a way to troll an opponent. Can't wait to try this in Commander 😂
A similar bug also happens to me when I go infinite with three blind mice. This man has been cooking the spiciest of brews lately
Wizards, this is the kind of content you would have envisioned when you conceptualized Arena. Brewers Kitchen is peak MtG entertainment.
Love the videos
The real treasure was the aggro deck we found along the way
Wow, double infinites!
Another banger!
He's back!!!
Man I love Phil's videos 😂
LOL I never saw that bug before ever
GUYS GET THE CHIPS, HE POSTED.
My favorite episode. The glitch was just stupendous dude. 😊😊😊😅😅😅😅😅
I would have laughed so hard if the opponent in game 2 hit you with a Settle the Wreckage on that swing...
Oh I wouldn't even be mad about that 😅
"I wanted to create a bird army just for the disrespect" cracked me up 😆
Clearly you angered the ghost of the shuffler.
Ah yes, I have Naru Meha as a paper EDH deck. I love this combo
I run into a glitch like that often when the game grinds to a halt in a match on mobile and I restart the client, throwing me back into the match with an Ajani avatar and no emotes or canned phrases. It will often be in the middle of my opponent's turn, but it will allow me to drop a land, which then becomes bugged.
Anyone notice that the last game had Seth as the opponent
So, Brewers Kitchen has been a part of Goldfish for a while now. I've been doing a good job at keeping my opinions to myself but I just can't do it any longer. I have to let it out. So here's my complaint: I wish there were 10 of you so there could be way more Brewers Kitchen videos. You make the best jank videos on the planet and I need more of it! This was great, thanks for listening to my rant and making the video.
🤣 Thank you!
thanks
I clicked that Like button before i could even blink ;D
Yes, Yessss
I want. Love it.
Mad lad, you are a bad person.
So am I though, so its cool. Can't wait for the next one.
Cool :)
if you put enough triggers onto the stack you can skip opponents next turn. It has happened to me several times using 1000 year storm to overflow the stack.
We just need morę brewers kitchen
This is a saucy aggro deck. But a lot of the time when I play mill decks I get matched against someone using the most powerful card in M:tG - Gaea's Blessing. So I always pack a way to strip them out of the opponent's deck.
I think you're the only person I've heard pronounce Smeagol correctly, or maybe it's just that your version of it is the best.
man i dont eevn need any combo like this my internet makes me do this
Yesssss
Ok your videos the explanation of cards both yours and opposite is great good work
You should make a yorion version
BONUS GAME
Papa brew!
the disrespect in Game 2... :D
i see brewers video, i click. easy
Been there 😮💨
I want to get back into MTGA, but I don't know how to really conceptualize a deck. The only deck concept I ever had was a healing trigger deck.
Oml if that glitch happened to me I'd be so salty😂
When I play my usual token deck, I need to be careful because I make the game lag so much with so many triggers
I once crashed the game because I activated 900 triggers at once
Get some sleep, Phil. You’ve got a lot of triggers to resolve in the morning.
Arena has weird coding. eg If your game ends before the music for your table has started, that table's music plays simultaneously with any other sound until you restart the client.
Great video as always! whats up with 9:22?
That's one frame of "Greedy Brewer Eyes Closed.png" that must have gotten lost when editing 😅I guess I blinked or something when checking the final edit
Brewer jumpscare
rip opponent #2 XD
Yes. Yes. Clicked in .00012 seconds. Bring the awesome.
Is that... Pokemon battle music??
Haha, I love it when Arena glitches out
The 9:22 - 9:23 ^^' what the heck
We just gonna ignore that the bonus game was against SaffronOlive?
How did he know?
