Of course, imagine someone came to you, showing you do things like murdering children, or shooting a pubic place up, or bombing a place and civilians, or starting a war that would kill many people, and it just so happens that Anakin/Vader does all those things in a sense, and much more. It would be absolutely traumatizing, knowing you would become that kind of person, depending on how you are when you see it, if your not a terrible person already that is when your shown that vision.
Certainly gives an idea on what the Anakin persona feels about Darth Vader. Despite being the same person, they view each other as individuals. So, while Vader considers Anakin to be "weak.' Anakin himself thinks Vader is "a terrible person."
This scene almost brings a tear to my eye. You can hear Anakin’s anguish. He truly hates what he will become. The exact opposite of what he stands for. A Sith, a murderer. It kind of breaks my heart to see such a good person fall so low.
Definitely he's methods always were the same. He was rough. And it grew up much bigger when he became Vader. That's so sad. I really disappointed they didn't show us nothing from Anakin's turning in Season 7

There's a potential that things would have been MUCH worse. Remember, Anakin had the best intentions. He had the heart of a hero. You'd think someone with that strong a heart would not let things go the way they did. And yet... ironic, it was his heart, feelings, that destroyed the Jedi AND the Sith.

@@Nite-Rise exactly, it sounded like a little boy being sent to his room by his older brother, nothing that fits the person who was just about to murder his older brother and choked his fiance
Whoami691 Anakin was better than his word. He did it all, and infinitely more; and to Tiny Mace Windu, who did not die, he was a second father ... which was sort of odd. He became as good a friend, as good a master, and as good a man, as the good old republic knew, or any other good old planet, system, or galaxy, in the good old universe. Some people laughed to see the alteration in him, but he let them laugh, and little heeded them; for he was wise enough to know that nothing ever happened in this galaxy, for good, at which some people did not have their fill of laughter in the outset; and knowing that such as these would be blind anyway, he thought it quite as well that they should wrinkle up their eyes in grins, as have the malady in less attractive forms. His own heart laughed: and that was quite enough for him. He had no further intercourse with Ones, but lived upon the Total Abstinence Principle, ever afterwards; and it was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge.
Hexogram :D Damn dude chill. I agree that seeing that would be great. Too bad Disney owns it now and they’ll probably never do it. They’re too busy ruining the OT
I just wish they could have let that Darth Vader breathing sequence be a bit longer so you truly hear the inhale and exhale clear, then letting it sink in with a subtle silence of the imperial march
+IShallUseFire! I think it's just right. Darth Vader's helmet is already iconic so you don't need to hold on it. It's there just long enough to show that Anakin's future is dark indeed.
+IShallUseFire! Before the vision started, at 1:04, you can hear the main theme of Battle of the Heroes, which is the song that plays when Anakin and Obi-wan duel. It's very subtle but it kinda foreshadows that what is about to happen will have a connection to that moment. They did a decent job with this.
I love how the score briefly hints at the imperial march before Vader's mask vanishes. It's subtle enough to not play out the whole melody for us, but close enough that we can feel where it's supposed to go. Just like Anakin's vision.
I absolutely can... no matter what, the decision to turn to the dark side was made willingly. Anakin wasn't insane or forced into it, he chose to become a monster.
@@blueskybelyr But that's the thing it wasn't entirely his fault it wasn't just the jedi fault either it was Palpatine he is the one who planted the seeds to turn anakin evil. Choice 3: Warn the Jedi and Republic about Palpatine ahead of time Choice 4: Stab yourself with lightsaber and end it all Choice 5: Go with Ashoka and join with Maul against Palpatine in season 7.
I love how despite it taking place a couple of years before, this show never hides the outcome of the events of Episode 3. This whole show is founded on dramatic irony. 99% of this shows viewers know the fate of Anakin, and this show is well aware they know. That puts Filoni in a uniqe position where hes able to give us serious depth to this character without having to worry about accidentaly spoiling it. I mean after Ahsoka and Anakins first mission, the show straight up told us that she was going to cause him serious pain and anger.
This is why the Fives arc is easily in my top 5 cause we KNOW he won't succeed at exposing what's going on. And it's so tragic to learn how close he was to preventing it all
It’s so tragic because the entire time as a viewer ur like “damn it this dude is going to fall and there’s nothing we can do to stop it but witness it”
There's no other way to put it, Clone Wars' Anakin is a hero. A flawed one, but a hero all the same. Passionate, stubborn, prone to insubordination but most of all, genuinely compassionate. Everytime Anakin gets angered, it's due to compassion, or having to let go of something. Both Clone Wars and prequel trilogy Anakins come from the same essence, but the portrayals are almost stark opposites. Prequel trilogy Anakin made me feel like he'd been asking to become Darth Vader his whole life, while I dreaded Anakin becoming Vader in Clone Wars. Imagine one of the most compassionate people suddenly do a 180 and become a merciless killing machine. And the final scene with Vader reflects the same. Anakin might've been sobbing underneath his mask looking at his dead friends and most of all, Ahsoka's sabers.
Its because Disney isn't willing to accept the split personality yet and embrace the animated series fully. "Anakin Skywalker was weak...I killed him", we didn't see Anakin again until Luke, when he took himself back" But it revenge of the sith we see the seduction of Anakin. In the beginning of the movie he was willing to help even the smallest of lives and no one left behind. By the end he values no life over his own.
it’s really exemplified by ahsoka’s quote in rebels, “what surprised people most was how kind he was” because for the most part, we really only got to see that side of him in the show
In the prequel movies they depict fractions of Anakin, in the clone wars there is much, much more screen time to show his transition. Despite Palpatine manipulating him, he was completely right about the Jedi. They lied to Anakin and never aknowledged him. If Qui Gon survived in the phantom menace he would have left the jedi order and take Anakin with him. The Jedi fell to their own hubris, Palpatine managed to convince ppl of a whole religious order who keep the peace and who preach about kindness to become war generals. Anakin saw more of the flaws of the Jedi than the Jedi themselves, they even neglected him so much that they didn't see what he was becoming throghout the years. Anakin saw the final jedi lie when Mace Windu was about to execute Palpatine without any trial or anything and saw them as complete hypocrites.
+Narjumanji Well, making out with a sibling, hating sand, slaughtering children and having anger issues, those are also Skywalker things. And, being unnaturally strong in the force, and a good pilot.
I don’t think everyone fully understands just how important the Mortis arc is in the Skywalker saga. Anakin finally understands he’s the chosen one and Qui Gon Jinn is proven right. The finale with the Father, Daughter, and Son was foreshadowing his future. The DAUGHTER who represented the light was killed by the SON who represented the dark. Vader after turning to the dark side extinguishes all remaining Jedi as Darth Vader. Then the FATHER who represented the balance of both kills himself in order to kill the SON and inevitably bring balance back, because there cannot be one without the other. Anakin returns, kills Vader along with Palpatine and all while killing himself in order to restore balance. Anakin is the FATHER, the SON is Vader and Palpatine, and the DAUGHTER were the Jedi. The Force literally is Anakin’s father. Anakin was born simply to bring balance to Force after it’s been abused for thousands of years. Anakin trained the first balanced force user in years, and that was Ahsoka. She neither aligned herself with the Sith or the Jedi. She simply was one with the Force. But all of this is rendered useless now with J.J Abrams Rise of Shitwalker which completely destroyed Anakin’s entire story and arc. I can only imagine what George Lucas feels to see perhaps the most complex character to hit the big screen be overwritten with the revival of Palpatine.
@@breakdancerQ Couldn't we just say the whole "resurrected Palp" was just a failed clone who did not even last 10 min (contrary to the original who lasted 2 trilogies) ? Then the prophecy stay true...

I really love this moment seeing anakin horrified to see a glimpse of his future self. It just adds so much more depth to his ordeal of eventually fulfilling that unwanted destiny of falling to the darkside. The clone wars series is amazing. I love this scene.
@Andrea Pearl 15 after watching clips of vader in obi-wan…yeah, anakin had EVEN more right 2 b in despair (as if him killing jedi kids & being complicit in a destruction of a planet FULL of innocent lives wasn’t already enough).
+TheMattMan095 despite how that line in the movie made me laugh, Hayden's "I hate you" really did sound like he's screaming in pain that his limbs were cut off and he's full of rage while burning to death.
Gotta say though the "I HATE YOU" Had no where the same impact as Hayden Christensen's performance. Even though Matt Lanter did a fantastic job playing Anakin and his character development
Do you guys realize how important this is? If you ever wondered how he would've reacted to seeing his future here's your answer. It tears him apart and completely breaks him, as it should. This is how most of us would react to learning we were going to become space Hittler. But what really makes this special is Luke reacts the same way to Vader being his father as Anakin does to becoming the future worst man in the galaxy. That's how much Luke's world was turned upside down. As if Luke was Vader himself.
Yeah, sorry to say this, but Vader is not space Hitler, and he was not responsible for Alderaan. In A New Hope he's really little more than an enforcer, who is said to be "kept on a leash" by Tarkin. Rather like an attack dog. Hitler was not "kept on a leash" by his officers, and a dog is not superior to a person holding the leash. Besides of which, if there's such a thing as space Hitler, who would space Stalin be? Y'know the man who literally killed more people but got away with it because he was on "our" side.
@@englishlady9797 The Galactic Empire is literally supposed to resemble the Nazis, and stormtroopers used to be a type of nazi soldiers. I agree that Vader isn't Hitler's counterpart, but Palpatine/Sidious is, and Vader is like Heinrich Himmler.

After watching this I kind of want to see an alternate ending in which Anakin doesn't become Darth Vader and manages to overcome fate. Not sure how it would go thought.
Ikr an alternate ending where the son succeeds and they end up killing the universes biggest puppet masters let's see palpatine fight/manipulate/scheme his way out of that
+Jordan Hibbert Of course, the Son would become Emperor of a galaxy spanning Sith Empire instead and would be even MORE difficult to depose then Palpatine........ Still, seeing the Son crush Palpatine with the latter realizing at the end that he is NOT the embodiment of the Dark side but rather that the Son is would be amusing to see.
+Shadow64 Same here. I like the idea of Anakin being able to avoid fate and change the future. As for the prophecy about him bringing balance to the Force, it doesn't have to mean that all Jedi have to be wiped out. It could just as easily mean that he destroys Sidious and helps the Jedi reform so that they embrace both sides of the force along with emotions thus achieving balance to the Force, preserving the Jedi Order AND the Republic by extension.
he did what he had to do. the jedis had to be destroyed and so he had to join the emperor to kill him later. no jedi, no sith, new begining so luke would start a new... a new order....fuck he screw it
It’s almost like a Split personality disorder, the immense trauma and pain Anakin experienced after everything that happened basically resulted in him getting most of his ‘Anakin’ side locked away while the ‘Vader’ persona took over, only remnants of Anakin, mostly his pain and trauma was left behind in Vader, but some moments showed Anakin wasn’t gone yet. I think the reason Vader also did so many deplorable things was because he wanted to become Vader completely, the more evil he commits, the more he can revel in his new identity, without fearing Anakin returning. But...we all know how that one turned out.
This "Noooooo!!" feels a lot more impactful than the one at the end of ROTS. Also I reckon the only way to make this scene better would be to have instead of visions, Anakin would have to duel a construct of Darth Vader and Darth Vader telling him (in James Earl Jones' voice) all the terrible things that he will do.
I really like this version of the “NOOO!!!” better as well, because to me it feels like the perfect mix of pain/suffering & anger/hatred. This scream perfectly represents Anakin’s fall to the dark side. It wasn’t just anger & hatred that turned him into Vader, it was the pain & suffering as well.
Sad part is that the Son actually meant what he said about bringing peace. The people who produced the show stated that The Son represents everything about the Dark Side include the "paved with good intentions" aspect. The Son is basically everybody who thought they could use the Dark Side for good.
Wouldn’t that mean that he saw all the way to his death? I guess the only reason he didn’t resist the Son was because the memories of his experiences (and eventual transition back to good) were just memories. He didn’t undergo them individually, but took them in all at once. I’m sure if he had the maturity of future Anakin, he could’ve resisted the temptations of the dark side and stood strong against the Son.
I. Th. Um, there was nothing character developing in this vision. It was loud and in your face, and unlike the 2003 version, this one is pointless since their memories are wiped.

In my opinion this is the best scene in TCW because we get to see Anikins reaction to Vader, to what he will soon become, the line "Know yourself, know what you will become!" is so powerful because it is all true. He tries to say stop it but his voice cracks as he hears people suffering, then he says in the most feeble tone ever, "I will not look!" showing his fear. Then we see him suffering shown by Palpatine's force lightning, his sorrow as he ignite his sapphire blade to yunglings, his greatest fear come true as he himself kills his wife, his _hatred_ for his former master, as he delivers his famous line "YOU WERE MY BROTHER ANIKIN!", you then hear Palpatine saying a powerful _sith_ you will become, showing his soon turn to the dark side of the force. You see the destruction of Alderon as Anikin yells "I HATE YOU!" as you hear the millions of screams from Alderon, as the ghastly figure of people he killed accumulate around him, including padme and count dooku as he falls to his knees, "no, No, NO" as the ghastly figures slowly form into an ominous black mask. *"NOOOOOOOO!"* as a single iconic breath is taken and that all to familiar tune of an imperial march plays in the background as the mask fades, Anikin falls feeble. He soon says in a broken heart of a voice "I will do such terrible things..." Also another thing... I love how in eps 3 when obi says you were my brother he sounded wounded and sad as Anikin gave a harsh I hate you, but in TCW its as if the roles are switched and obi is giving a harsher you were my brother and anikin sounds more hurt and lost and betrayed... Count Dooku, Darth Maul and Fives: We told you guys a thousands times!!! The Republic is secretly under the control of the Sith!! Obi Wan, Padmé, Ahsoka and the whole Jedi Order: Wait.. it's already April's Fools?
“Pttf, you mean this old guy who does evil head turns, hides information and does shady acts, looks evil and who is somehow usurping greater and greater power because of this war? Nah, it can’t be true”
Oh my fucking God. Dooku was feeding seeds of distrust between the Jedi and the Senate. He knew they wouldn't believe him, because he had already betrayed them. Fives and Maul are a different story. Maul was sincere, and he almost had Ahsoka, but he lost her by revealing that Anakin had to die before he could become Darth Vader. Fives had been drugged to go insane, and Anakin was skeptical because the Chancellor had been a father figure to him for over a decade.
Too bad they didn't finish the series as a Netflix exclusive though. There was originally supposed to be 8 seasons, but since CN had control over it, instead of handing it down to Disney, they immediately tore it apart, being the selfish bastards that the channels producers are. And we were actually going to see Darth Revan, order 66 and Darth Vader involved in it too. (Sigh) We can only dream now...
I think it's interesting how the Son lures Anakin to the Dark Side with promises of doing good with power(or at least preventing bad things from happening), just like how Palpatine would.
I believe it’s because, Sidious is in fact a reincarnation of the sun? I’m not sure, but I read somewhere that he is the literal embodiment of the dark side.
As you can see, Anakins main interest throughout the saga is peace. He joined the jedi to bring peace, he joined the sith to bring peace and he overthrew the emperor to bring peace.
I love the detail that, even though Anakin no doubt saw the pain and suffering he will endure in his future, the biggest fear for him are the actions he will take. Just goes to show just how good of a person he was.

Razh 80 yeah
A Pale Blue Dot ya, the clone wars was an incredible series. I can’t wait for the upcoming new season 🥳😳🤤
By the end he values no life over his own.
it’s really exemplified by ahsoka’s quote in rebels, “what surprised people most was how kind he was” because for the most part, we really only got to see that side of him in the show
Anakin is still a guy I like, despite so much that happened.
@@poppapalpatine7659 They did in Kenobi though.
"You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker. I did."

+Shane Michaels She said no when Han died.
+Darovit That tears it then.

Proof that Anakin and Vader are 2 different beings that share the same body
Not exactly, I'd say two personalities.

Matt Sloan would also do good, he’s always been right there with JEJ
I really like this version of the “NOOO!!!” better as well, because to me it feels like the perfect mix of pain/suffering & anger/hatred. This scream perfectly represents Anakin’s fall to the dark side. It wasn’t just anger & hatred that turned him into Vader, it was the pain & suffering as well.

The future : Rey skywalker
Anakin: NOOOOOOOOO
As if Anakin wouldn’t respect the shit out of Rey for overcoming a similar upbringing to his.

You would be too if you saw that you were going to be an evil person consigned to a life of destruction and suffering

Anakin: I'm going to be a father? I'm so happy! I have to go tell everyone! Yoda! Where you at? I'M GONNA BE A FATHER!!!
I love this thread😂
*"NOOOOOOOO!"*
as a single iconic breath is taken and that all to familiar tune of an imperial march plays in the background as the mask fades, Anikin falls feeble. He soon says in a broken heart of a voice
"I will do such terrible things..."
Also another thing... I love how in eps 3 when obi says you were my brother he sounded wounded and sad as Anikin gave a harsh I hate you, but in TCW its as if the roles are switched and obi is giving a harsher you were my brother and anikin sounds more hurt and lost and betrayed...
Eps 3: "You were my _BROTHER_ Anikin... I _loved_ you..." after Anikin said *"I HATE YOU!"*
Tcw: *"YOU WERE MY BROTHER ANIKIN!"* and more of a
"I _HATE_ YOU!"

+TEAM 509 (obtainedcash610) I have the high ground
Anakin: ruahhhhhhhahahhhhhhhh "burns"
+Dylan Fincher I HATE YOU!!!!!
+TEAM 509 (obtainedcash610) can u imagine if star wars history was actually changed like the son is
basically the dark side so if he killed obi wan ahsoka then leave the
planet with his new apprentice darth vader the son would take care of
palpatine because he is a rival then anikan leads the 501st to kill the
jedi in the temple after the son killed the sith lord he initiates
order 66 then when all the jedi is exterminated they use the future to
coordinate the remainder of the war eliminate competition and then a new
empire is born with the son leading it and darth vader as his second in
command.
Kinda sad that if the father didn’t make anakin completely forget what he learned in this scene, revenge of the sith, a new hope, empire strikes back, return of the Jedi, force awakens, last Jedi, and rise of skywalker all would’ve never happened
Wavy Gravy that needed to happen or else there would be no balance for the force. Sad thing is anakin had to go through so much pain
Yeah, the amount of suffering he endured as Anakin and as Vader, as well as all the pain and suffering he would cause to the galaxy seemed to be set in stone.
He was always a slave, until Luke saved him.
Very true.
@@ade8182 I disagree. like... A LOT. If Anakin would've remembered any of this he sure as he would've stopped it the moment Palpatine revealed himself to him. "Together we will destroy this Emperor you see in your visions" yeah, according to George Lucas: Palpatine and the Sith's extermination does restore Balance to the Force as the Sith are like a cancer seeking to control, dominate, obliterate any traces of the Lightside. There will always be Darkside users and dark Jedi, that is the nature of balance.
@@xrstevenson Definitely not. Bro, the whole point of ALL THREE ARCS, AOTC, ROS and here, Mortis, is that knowledge of the future + fear of loss are the key ingredients that push Anakin to darkness. Every single time. He was literally planning to leave the planet with the INCARNATION OF THE DARK SIDE ITSELF.
This is hands down my favorite moment in the entire show. It is such a phenomenal show of the horrors he will commit and it conveys so much emotion.
& how despite the many flaws he has, anakin meant well as a jedi & the last thing he ever wanted was to be everything he was doomed to become (darth vader).
Unpopular opinion: I wish they just reused Hayden Christensen’s and Ewan McGregor’s voice lines for this.

I 100% agree.
They would have to pay him if they did and he would get royalty checks which they aren’t pay
So your plan to avoid your destiny of joining the dark side is...to...join the dark side? That'll work.
+Liz Barwise the dark side does not make him evil. the fear of lose everything he have were used by palpatine to make him evil. sorry for the bad english
Yes it is cannon this story arc just didn't have an effect on anything because the convenient "everyone gets mind whipped changing nothing" ending, but at least they placed a lot of foreshadowing that made us all go "Oh I see what you did there" that made this entertaining to watch.
Liz Wise months of manipulation my friend
White Ice Tv you dont even know what youre talking about, stay in school
0:45 If you look at the Volacnic surroundings and the way he approaches anakin and Battle Of the Heros softly playing is a nice touch
Son in TWC: "we really don't need to be enemies"
Vader to Ahsoka in Rebels: "we need not be adversaries"
The fact that instead of deceiving Anakin like he did all the others, this time what he's showing Anakin is 100% the truth.
Im still convinced that he showed him the future sparingly
Not involving any visions of luke and leia
Otherwise he would be even more conflicted and uncertain with the way he should react after seeing these visions
And yea even tho this wouldn’t guarantee anakin accepting this exact future, he would still become more hesitant to join the son
Probably xd
Seriously, Anakin? You fell for the old Dark Sider claiming to bring peace to the galaxy trick again? Tsk tsk. (Of course, in this cause, you fell to the LIVING PERSONIFICATION OF THE DARK SIDE OF THE FORCE. Talk about foreshadowing).
What do you mean again? The time with palpatine hasn't happened yet
I think he means he movie, which came first. But yeah, in Clone Wars, you're right.
I mean when done one shows ya vision of u becoming hitler and the things u did I’m pretty dawm well sure anyone will go the opposite way word exactly what happen everything that was gonna happen in fact him joining him would of been better then him ruining will sidius why he wanted to rule the galaxy as the so h this guy didn’t he just wanted to kill all the jedi and sigh to him that was a way of bringing balance

Oh my god the chills from this scene, when Vader appears especially.
Coming back to this after seeing “Shattered” and “Victory and Death”, this scene hits so different. Even though in a sense, Vader was in a weird and twisted way necessary to bring balance to the force and the universe but imagine of Anakin kept his memories after this episode, imagine what would’ve happened
Count Dooku, Darth Maul and Fives: We told you guys a thousands times!!! The Republic is secretly under the control of the Sith!!
Obi Wan, Padmé, Ahsoka and the whole Jedi Order: Wait.. it's already April's Fools?

Honestly the people in the Star Wars Galaxy were so fucken stupid. Or more specifically the jedi
@@Teddysha22 I think speciali obi - wan and Ashoka
Oh my fucking God. Dooku was feeding seeds of distrust between the Jedi and the Senate. He knew they wouldn't believe him, because he had already betrayed them. Fives and Maul are a different story. Maul was sincere, and he almost had Ahsoka, but he lost her by revealing that Anakin had to die before he could become Darth Vader. Fives had been drugged to go insane, and Anakin was skeptical because the Chancellor had been a father figure to him for over a decade.
We got the stupid Mundi to thank for all of this. He was the most arrogant character that didn’t want to believe the return of the Sith

Too bad they didn't finish the series as a Netflix exclusive though.
