You forget that any pine trees you can maybe tea from. You can also eat it too. just simmer the stick and needles until you see your water change colour. It's high in vit. K. Something very healthy for winter. Dandelions' and their leaves + roots are very good for you to eat make tea and use the roots as medicine.

I’m a tea person and was totally obsessed with green lemon tea. Then I was to the dr on a routine check up and my liver didn’t feel so fine, of course I got the question about how much alcohol I had on a daily basis. I don’t drink alcohol at all so this was a mystery until she heard that I love green lemon tea . I had to stop drinking that and slowly my liver did recover. So take it easy with green tea, it’s not as healthy as some says

I discovered the Oliver Puff Tea Company a few years ago when I started teaching a Colonial tea etiquette section for Colonial Day at the school where I used to work. One fun fact is that the company is descended from one of the tea companies who were involved (i.e. had their tea cargo dumped) in the Boston Tea Party, and they still sell tea from the same exact tea plantations that produced the tea they sold in the 18th century. It's the closest you can get to tasting 18th century Chinese tea!
One point of 18th century etiquette has to do with the "pinkies up" tradition: you only put your pinky finger up if you are drinking tea from a Chinese-style teacup that has no handle, because if you do it with a modern handled teacup or mug, it weakens the grip of your other fingers on the handle, and the cup of tea, if full and heavy, could slip in your fingers and spill. With the Chinese or Japanese teacup, since it has no handle the only parts of the teacup that are cool enough to handle when it is full of hot tea, are the rim at the top, and the little stand or "foot" at the bottom. The diameter of the rim of the teacup is sized to be held between the thumb and middle finger, and it is a natural gesture to extend your pinky finger when you hold the teacup like that, plus it helps balance the weight of the full teacup in between your fingers.

Enjoy both your two TH-cam channels..Colonial Williamsburg sells a chocolate tea called "Cacao Tea" and you can purchase it on there website....Also, to pronounce a word or phrase, go to TH-cam and type in "How to pronounce xxxx"..It will say the word a couple of times. As a tea drinker all my life brewing loose tea in a tea pot is the best, then use a tea strainer to catch the leaves before it goes into your cup or mug. Then put in your honey, milk or sugar, but most good teas do not require any additional flavors besides the tea itself..As a former reenactor for to many years to count, Victorian era and Civil War, it is fun watching your episodes. Thanks again from Arizona 🌵

Would love to see more Syrian recipes modern or old days. Do you plan on living in the cabin full time in the future while saving for a home and land like people who live off the grid? It’s not insulated so it must get pretty cold. Do you try to stick to being method “actors” while you’re at the cabin or do you grab water bottles and modern food/snacks between filming? Otherwise, whats your source for water when you get thirsty? A creek/well like for your dry sink? When you spend the night there do you have an outhouse? Is it a long drive from your homes? How long does it take to film and edit and post a video? So much intrigue…like the man behind the curtain…

The cookies are basically meringue cookies. Don't expose them to any humidity or they'll lose their crispiness.

I am related to Thomas Benedict and Mary Bridgham. the first two settlers to America that got married on the beach of now today Maine. My ancestors moved to Connecticut, which used to be Connecticut County. Today, I am the last Benedict. I hope that my 3,313 cousins, brothers and sisters can get a hold of me on TH-cam, or Facebook. I want to meet my family again.

Your thingermy Bob is a tea infuser. The trick is to only half fill with tealeaves, leaving enough room for the dried tea leaves to swell and release the full flavour into the cup of boiling water. In England our "cookies " are called biscuits and they are generally crisp unlike your softer cookies. Your "biscuits", we call scones, I've seen them referred to on U.S. recipe videos as English tea scones. Xxx the beauty of language x

I don't know what the thing-a-ma-bob for steeping your tea leaves is called, but I would love some of those for my teas. It would be awesome if you don't have to use tea bags and can stir it. Can you tell us where we can get those tea steeping things? Thanks. I am my daughters love watching and learning. Before we knew of you, we got a spider legged dutch oven and baked a whole chicken and also an apple pie in it outside by the fire pit. We found out that we are gluten free, so we don't know if those recipes would do well in a cast iron dutch oven since gluten free baking is so unforgiving. Maybe you might know someone who has had experience with gluten cast iron baking.
Oh! Forget the donkey. I use to have horses years ago. I heard a lot of bad things about mules being smart and mean; therefore very dangerous. I know of a donkey that killed a whole herd of goats. She would back up and kick them with a deadly kick in the stomach. Mean old thing and I felt sorry for those goats suffering to death like that. I told my daughters never to go near that thing at there Uncles. My old large animal vet that I use to do voluntary work, with one summer years ago, swore off ever treating any mule without sedating it first. He told me a lot of bad stories and he would have me assist with studs but this guy was so fearful of them that he wouldn't let me assist with the mules. He would tell mule owners I will not come and treat unless you let me sedate. If you want something practical for a homestead, you should look into a warm-blood horse to pull a plow. Some of them are nothing but gentle giants from what I have heard and I believe there are those in Missouri that give driving lessons. Good luck with your homesteading and soon to come marriage. May the Lord Bless His.

Thank you for this video. Learning today in this episode that y’all met each other in the reenactment of our founding as a country is absolutely awesome enjoy watching y’all grow as a couple and your interactions young man you are truly blessed for one to have a beautiful wife but for your Colemans collective demeanor that you have for the love of her one question is how would you filter your water in those days maybe you could make an episode out of this I know how you sterilize it by cooking but filtering out everything is sometimes tough do you use a rock and sand or how do you do it. I live in my mind I love living in the air of that you live number one for being a patriot but also for the Pirineos and are y’all familiar with George Washington’s rules of etiquette so anyway make this a shorter Zicam blessings to you too I love yawls family enjoy watching your episodes take care

I believe you are suppose to wait to add honey to your tea till after it has steeped and cooled down a bit. So the hot water doesn’t kill any of the benefits such as being an antibacterial and anti-oxidant. But if you are using it just as a sweetener than adding it whenever is fine ☺️♥️

I'm glad you found each other i have been married for 17 years with my husband for 20 and we are more in love then ever so hang in there you seem to love each other and it can work mutual respect is key 🔑 and you seem to have that

Thank you! The story of the ropes being tight on the beds never did seem right to me. I had never even heard the story until about 10 - 20 years ago.
Separately, bakers used to cook their meringues overnight with the low heat created by the banked fires.

You are adorable together! You might want to lower your expectations on that amount of land and a homestead out of the gate. Most couples work their way up. If you wait for the exactly perfect homestead you will live on all your life you might be in for a long wait! The fun is in the journey and not the destination! We had a blast working our way up and feeling a sense of accomplishment each time we moved closer to our ultimate goal! We learned valuable lessons about real estate. Every time we moved we benefited from the accrued value of our real estate! We are now in our perfect retirement home and very happy and satisfied. We worked together and that made us stronger. Looking back, we had a blast getting here!
