I was in the army from 1980 to 2003 and saw many uniform changes. What I do not miss is the Mickey Mouse boots. They sucked. We used to scotch-guard our field jackets.
I was an E&E troop at Tinker on the E3's when I got my first Gore-Tex's. Actually took me a bit to get used to them. I was so used to my field jacket. After I did I fell in love with the stuff. Loved how it blocked the wind on the line at Tinker and came in real handy on those cold wet days working the line in Spangdahlem Germany. Still have a couple of jackets and of course a couple of field jackets that I manage to snag when I retired. 10:35
Great video! Good looking jacket. I'm not a veteran, but I do thank all vets for their service to our country. I worked for the Forest Service when I was in college, and some of our gear was military in origin and was of good quality. I still have an Alice pack I was issued as a fire pack. Hard to beat some of the military gear.
Lol. I got there in 86. I visited in 2016 and my old aircraft maintenance shop was still there. The door was opened and got to see my office again. Some of my old equipment was still there, half packed but just left there. The town was using the building to park vehicles. The base closed in '97 I believe.
Great video! I was issued the green camo Gore-Tex like you have, and later issued a new ABU Gore-Tex coat & pants. They’ve got a zip-up Polartec to wear under the jacket. I gave my old green camo Gore-Tex to my Dad. He loves it! I still wear my ABU Gore-Tex stuff on occasion.
Great video. Thanks a ton for giving your opinion on the jacket. I really love this jacket and think it's better than the main commercial brands such as Patagonia, Columbia, or The North Face. Mine is sadly damaged and I need to replace it. Awesome review. Keep the nice content coming.
Hello. Can you probably list all manufactours of this jackets please / or something else!?.. valley apperal, tennier and something..... Thx sir and greets from germany!!!

Kinda miss those days in a way. Still feels like home when I drive on a base. Not the same AF anymore though. Thanks for the great comment brother!

I was born, raised, and still live in Grand Forks- you're right- the winter weather can be brutal! Great video!
Hats off to you courageous few my friend! I will never forget working the missile field in -50, windchill -100.

Some of the best stuff for sure!
Plattsburgh AFB was great. I was there from 79 to 82. My office at the hospital was nice and warm.

I picked one of these up at a flea market for $3 someone cut the tag out but the rest of the jacket is in a great shape
Nice buy!

Thank you brother! Can't go wrong with this one. Hope everything is going well for you.

I don't have that info and would have to do some internet research brother. If I come across something that's accurate I'll certainly post it.
Are the jacket listed as US Military Issue BDU Woodland Cold Weather Parka same as this?
Look for the label like I showed. They are different over years but should be similar,
How should I be washing this jacket?
You can throw it in the washer. Low heat dry. Best to air dry it.
I always hand washed and air dry....30 years no fading
@@MichaelScreamMachineEvans what cleaning product do you use to wash it?
