This is the adjustment that has helped the most for me and the boys. Staying connected letting the body be the mover of the knob and the hands snap through from connected position. The angle of the video seeing the ball come at you was Sick. Wicked fast there! Harvey dropping K-bombs here with coaching gold. Thanks man!
Thanks Ryan. I tend to get my arms away from my body thinking I'm creation more power when I'm doing the opposite. I will try the back arm/elbow staying inside and connected drill and in my next BP. Appeciate the advice.....I thought the connection and inside the ball was more of a baseball tip. Some say it's different in softball, but I will defer to you every time.
Question: You are a tall guy and the tee was set low. Do you practice hitting the low tee to simulate a lower pitch as part of your routine. I ask this because your game vids you attack the ball higher in the pitch arc. Just curious because my tee is set higher to simulate a game pitch I would swing at which is just below chest height.
Loving these videos man. This is a very helpful drill for me as I tend to cast and also get disconnected by not allowing the ball to get deep in the zone. Keep these videos coming man. Your doing great work and it is definitely helping me!
Good stuff Ryan - thank you! Could you maybe do a video on your grip? I see guys holding the bat a lot of different ways... It would be helpful to hone in on how you hold that bat. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for sharing the knowledge Ryan! I have seen other pros talk about fast hands and using the fence drill you explained here but didn’t really understand it. One question.... What are your thoughts on arm extension? Does more arm extension increase power or how does it figure into staying connected?
LOVED the video, Ryan! Thank you for continuing to provide elite level content for us players trying to be better. It really helps! Could I ask a few questions? 1) how hard do you squeeze the bat? As tight as you can or loose fingers? 2) How hard do you swing in practice vs a game? 3) Do you take live bp or are you all Tee? If so, what is your objective when doing live bp? 4) This may be a video itself, but what is your mentality when you swing in a game? Is it clear headed? Are you focusing on a spot on the ball? Is it filled with aggression and you’re trying to just kill the ball? The more I play the more I find out that a big part of this game is mental and I never played baseball so if these questions are stupid, I apologize.
Appreciate the support, thank you!! Bat should be loose in your hands but able to be controlled, relaxed = speed/quickness, tense muscles aren’t quick! I’m usually 80% swing most of the time, too hard becomes uncontrolled. Yes I’ll hit bp when I’m able to but mostly off the tee, keeps me from over extending my swing. Game mentality depends on the situation, that’s all that matters. Drill work is meant for bp and the cage, once the games start, trust your work off the field and clear your mind.
@@harv2510 Thank you so much! I’ll get to work on those aspects right away. Looking forward to your next video already and hope I get a chance to see you hit in NC in person one day!
I'm 6'2 240. I don't have this power. But after watching you tonight I think I can improve . I see you are on your toes. I guess that makes sense. The activation of the sprinter muscles is the theory I guess . And a faster rotation
Hey big Harv. These videos are awesome and have helped me out a lot. Keep em coming. Real quick question, and I think this is one that a lot of people are curious about. What ounce bat do you use?
Imagine being captured and tortured by the MARINES while at war and you are duct taped to a chair while this guy blast Tee shots at you from 60ft away.
Ryan I'm watching this video on my computer and those line drives have me flinching !!!!!

I should have figured you would become all-world in softball. You sir had tremendous power back with the cubs and Rockies!

I feel like they need to make 33” bats for us 5’10” guys after seeing that toothpick in his hands.
This is fanatic thank you Big Ryan!!

I swing a dc41 right now . What do you think will feel closest to that bat the new krecher or the mach1 xxl ???
I believe the dc41 is half oz, the Harvey Krēcher is a half oz as well

Real quick question, and I think this is one that a lot of people are curious about. What ounce bat do you use?
29 oz
Is it step then hands back then swing?
How many times a week should one do batting practice?
There’s really no answer for that, but I will say, don’t over do it, don’t over think it!
Excellent explanation of the "staying Connected" thanks for the video.
RIP camera
