Mr. Rebholz, forgive me for disturbing you again and I should have requested this sooner while I talking about the furs of hyenas. Now, though the nature the request itself might sound polemical, I have fascination with skyscrapers and buildings and I was wondering if you'd have any trouble teaching how to draw skyscrapers and or building on fire or on some type of fiery state of smoke, a burning edifice basically. This might be a sensitive given the tragic ordeal that transpired for the American population decades ago during the WTC but, my art tends to criss-cross the violent nature of existence's unpredictability, sexology and the archetypal betrayal of humans by using hyenas as symbolisms. Sounds very wild I know and recently I have an idea to enmesh those things. One of my favorite writers is Jordan Krall who wrote a book called The False Magic Kingdom Cycle and another one called Your Cities, Your Tombs, and I am also very much into William S. Burroughs and J.G.Ballard's The Atrocity Exhibition. So as you can see my graphic depictions based on these literary works will definitely create a very provocative if not somewhat politically incorrect artistic expression. If you feel hesitant to teach how to draw realistic edifices on fire, then at least teach me how to make fire realistic and I'll take care of the rest I've does it once but without the fire, only with smoke.
Thank you one again if you happen to find the request intriguing and ultimately worthy of acceptance and if not, it id Fien because you are still one of the best creature artists I have ever been inspired by. You are helping a lot. I am 29 years old, nearing 30. I hope there are no typos in my comment,

I love how this guy talks about imperfection being okay in drawings, a lot of artists (including myself) always seek perfection but this guy has helped me see otherwise. Also your art is sick and I can tell you're going to be a big inspiration for me, have a good day!

Infraorbital foramen is a hole present on the maxilla bone of the skull and it works as a pathway for nerves and blood vessels.

Funny thing about drawing a skull is that the cooler it looks once you put some flesh on it the face seems to be somewhat more animalistic cause the mouth area gets pushed forward.
It's actually a good way to analyze different races the cooler skulls are those with people, mostly men, with stronger features like tall and muscular men and some African races. Not trying to sound racist but it's just a fact and there's nothing wrong with that. Asian skulls for example are the exact opposite being flatter so the mouth area will be in line with the bridge of the nose for example. European skulls will usually be somewhere in the middle.
At least, that was my observation studying different faces and skulls of different races.

I just wanted to thank you so much for walking us through this in such a patient and succinct way. Explaining how everything is measured and lines up is SO valuable to me - I was trying to draw from references, and I did *ok" but I really got lost at the proportions and where the jaw and cheekbones lined up correctly with the rest of the proportions. This is incredible, thank you so much. I haven't sketched much since highschool, and I always wanted to, but I need someone to hold my hand, so this is perfect!

Hello Mr. Rebholz! I am attempting to establish a humble yet meaningful project that is very important to my ontology and I’ve been checking every video in your playlist as a result. With that said sir, Hyenas are archetypal figures in my new found artistic identity (let’s put it that way) have a very unique and idiosyncratic symbolism in my artwork and worldview so I’d really appreciate it if you could make a video on how to draw and perfect the low tone of fur of a female hyena please. I live in Angola, Southwest Africa which actually has a mythological creature based on the hyena, and even though you’ve already made a video on how to make fur, I need this potential type of video as a specificity to help me improve my realism. I’d be extremely grateful if you are receptive to my request. You have a nice day and I emphasize my gratitude for your work and content. This video is also crucial for me. Literature and drawing are passions of mine. God bless you and much success in your future endeavors.

Great video, would love to see a video where you draw long tails with spikes or snakes, or tentacles that wrap around .I always have trouble understanding where the top and bottom is when curling around, etc. Hope this makes sense.

The foramen allow nerves and sometimes blood vessels, too, to pass through the skull. Think of the foramen magnum that allows the spinal cord/brain stem to come through.

I've enjoyed this tutorial I found you by chance and I really enjoyed what you produced on your channel I am a beginner artist so I'm struggling a lot but this tutorial on skulls really help me I hope you do more of these I also love your creatures as well and I'm more fascinated with trying to draw with using basic shapes so they really helped me a lot hopefully you can do a character using basic shapes? But thank you for keeping it simple I can't tell you how many videos I watched about drawing the skull and it leaves me confused and frustrated so thank you for keeping it just simple and also not skipping or fast forward the video I really enjoy that too so thank you for doing that.

Weird how you draw the foramen. If you're being that detailed, why not draw the suture lines too?
You're drawing a Caucazoid skull. The orbits have distinct shapes in different race. And this is a male skull. The goinion angle tends to be greater in female humans and the orbits are sharper and less rounded in female humans.
I learned this from plastic surgery web forums, because anatomy textbooks aren't this detailed.
The Royal Institution has a TH-cam channel. Their 2022 Christmas lectures were about skeletons and forensics. You might like it.

There's only one race, officially in science. Unfortunately, we haven't replaced the word racism with culturism, ethnicitism, or something. Lol. As someone who is part Jewish, and biracial, I'm thankful that (S)H*tler's own scientists debunked his Arayan race myth.
Many don't know, or don't want believe, that he, on record of the Holocaust, in his own book, in his speeches, and so forth, promoted the so-called Arayan race, and he went after more than just Jewish people with his openly admitted propaganda against us, and he went after more than just cultures/ethnicities. He had disabled children gassed in vans, and he killed LGBT. He went after communists (communism always ends up being horrendous, especially when China, North Korea, Russia [I'm part Russian], and Albania [I have some Alabnaian in my DNA] tried it). He killed biracials, Blacks, Romanians, etc. The guy staged an attack on his own radio tower to invade Poland (I have some roots from there, and I'm glad they don't suffer from Islam with their no Muslim immigration there, as Iswrong gets exposed more and more), and then occupied (unlike Israel) Poland to make the Holocaust there.
Just some science and history there.
Thanks again for a great video!
