    Unpopular opinion: I think the celica st205 gt4 is better than the supra

    • @Jo3man96
      @Jo3man96 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @Viscous Shear the supra in standard form was more of a GT car in the first four generations, rather than a track car. Unless it was a really open fast circuit, like Silverstone, Monza or Imola, the celica GT-four would most likely be quicker

    • @timomomomo969

      Better is a vague term. Better at rallying and on track, in most cases. Better at long distance high speed drives in comfort? Or better when the full performance is realized through tuning? Looks have to go to the Supra with it’s more classic proportions. The look of the GT four is all about function.

    • @BrunowskiGaming
      @BrunowskiGaming 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@timomomomo969 that functionality factor alone makes the Celica GT-4 better than a Supra. Cuz', let's be honest: how many of us got lots of spare cash for tuning 2JZ? How many times a ludicrous amount of power would be a good answer on public roads? The Celica is both cheaper, more economical and more agile for most scenarios. Therefore is way better car than the Supra.
      Even though i have to agree that the Supra looks better.

    The Ford is better because it has proper rear biased four wheel drive and a better chassis. It was a custom build job, shares virtually nothing with the regular Escort, was built on a separate production line from a chassis developed on the previous Sierra RS. The ST205 is a nice car and far cheaper to buy today because it just wasn't quite as good. No doubt a good classic steer today but the Escort Cosworth is a legend for good reason.....

    Great car the Toyota but Ford nailed the cosworths as a package and only the poor security let them down. Tales of reliability issues are bollocks because standard/stage 1 and serviced on time they rarely had issues. People forget how abused and neglected cossies were specially when they were available as low as 2500 for a half dead 2wd saph or 4-5 grand for an ok one at their lowest point!

    The Celica is a million times better than any kind of Escort in every aspect. Clarkson should really reconsider his sayings on this video. OK I get it, you want to support your country's products but let's not be ridiculous.

      There was always a lot of bias towards Euro products when compared to rival Japanese products by British car journalists. I remember it well in the nineties. Japanese offerings were usually always superior (as is the case here) but British journalists struggled to admit it.

    Ford or Toyota let me think about this for a moment
    Ford - guaranteed to rust to death, leak oil out and water in BUT I could always trailer it to shows and get a semi on because its got an original radio thats still shite and the original spare wheel with unused tyre.
    Toyota - reliable from day one and still running strong all these years later and usable daily
    Uuuuuuuuum I can't decide
