  • Join me as I cover the Solo Setup for Aeon's End: War Eternal by Kevin Riley and published by Indie Boards & Cards! In this episode we'll setup for a standard solo game as we go up against a massive Nemesis known as the Umbra Titan!
    Aeon's End War Eternal: amzn.to/2N2ZmPx
    "Gravehold remains the last bastion of The World That Was. As the otherworldly incursions from the creatures known only as The Nameless intensify, a cadre of strange survivors emerge from the void itself. Will they be Gravehold's salvation or its undoing?
    War Eternal is a standalone game compatible with the cooperative deck-building game Aeon's End. Players struggle to defend Gravehold from The Nameless and their hordes using unique abilities, powerful spells, and an all-new cast of dynamic characters. Featuring a number of innovative mechanisms, including a variable turn order system that simulates the chaos of an attack and deck management rules that require careful planning, War Eternal can be played alone or combined with other Aeon's End content for a game experience like no other."

    Hello Everyone! Hope you enjoy the Solo Setup. I could be wrong on the pronunciation of 'Aeon' as I've heard it said both ways. I've also pronounced it with the 'A' in a recent awards show. After looking into it further the 'A' was intentional and I'll be reverting back to using it going forward. :)
    If you're excited to see more Aeon's End, let me know! I'm really looking forward to this one with you all! Cheers

    I had the original but decided to sell it because I enjoyed Shadowrift better with my wife. At the Legacy announcement, I bought Aeons End war Eternal! Great game and the artwork and graphic design is way better than 1st was.

      With you 100% Christian. I’m looking forward to Legacy. I think it will work well with the mechanics of the game. War Eternal is a keeper and the art is much better now.

    I just played against the Umbra Titan this past week with a friend (2 player game). It didn't end well for us. But damn, do I love this game!

      No way! Good timing I guess haha
      I’m a little worried I’m going to get hammered as I be played this a number of times and it’s a tough one. We’ll see! :)

    Pretty late to the party, but just got in a 2p intro game of WE. We barely won with both players having 1 life and 2 lives left on gravehold. Very exciting and tense board game, might even become my favorite game ever. Love co-ops and deck building. Great video btw!

      Hey George! Great question. I feel bad because off hand I actually don’t know this. Would need to look into it. BGG would be a great resource for a faster response on it :)

    Great video, thank you! The setup seems to be kindof extensive and time-consuming...not sure if we can away from that in a game like this

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s easier than it looks! The box houses everything with dividers. So when setting up you can quickly grab the decks of cards. The Nemesis deck is the one you need to build but again the divided decks are easy to grab and put away. I like their effort on effective storage right out of the box. Cheers!

    HOLY MAT!!! At first I thought those card holders were some type of light that makes the mat that color. I think getting a mat that you can use with any game is good but so many that are specifically for the game has the layout and is pretty too. Especially this season's Aeons End. I have the last mat and it's blah.

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the mat as well. Really adds a lot. Big fan of adding to a game experience!

      @@RollingSolo Can you provide the layout of your Uberstax, I purchased like 36 of them for various games and since I just ordered almost all of Aeon's End I'd like to use your setup.

    I need to watch your segments like I watch shows. I'll wait awhile and then binge a half season or more. I hate the cliff hangers. It seems though whenever the cut off comes, its bad. I will actually watch last year's finale and then the 1st of the season. Those 3 minutes of "what happened last year on...." , give me a break I want it to be a nice smooth entrance.
    How do you choose a game? Well that's a good question too but I mean to play not show online. I assume you play outside of playthroughs or are your playthroughs just recorded so the Family don't look at you as if your crazy while talking to yourself? Could you point the way to (I didn't start at video 1, maybe i should) or would you ever make a video of you as a gamer /person, more than the guy behind the camera. What you look for in a game or experience, some of the overboard things done to components, how it all started - gaming and the video streaming? I see a lot of overlap in our games and enjoy your play style/choices. I feel it's like your Mr. Wilson (if memory is correct), the guy behind the fence. I would like to put a person to the gaming.
    On other channels I've seen people in different settings and maybe a family member sit in for a game or a group play. Maybe that's more a "reviewer" thing where I seem to get more of the personal information or feel. Because of them giving explicitly their opinion and is the point of the review. As you, you kind of verbalize your thoughts as you play. Difficult explaining. You differ by playing as if you're without camera and I hear the thoughts and see the actions. There never seems to be that forced " I want to show this!" Or "This happens when.." Your play would be identical if the camera was off. Things show themself naturally. I don't always need to be pushed one way or told THAT'S THAT. I like tell myself WHAT THAT IS.
    The best is when I'm like "That's awsome!" while simultaneously your like all amazed sounding and saying how cool that was and just pure excited. Those exact moments for myself were a great influence of why I began and want to keep gaming. I used to try providing that environment for my kids.
    I get this is (even named) Rolling Solo, it's just after or before watching I am playing a game, solo, but I don't know. It's like that Solo Guild saying, something to the effect "We're all here together playing our own game." I'm either watching too many playthroughs or need more coop games. On a lighter note, I'm afraid to watch the unboxing of the To Many Bones expansion I was just notified of from your channel. I can't afford anymore, you need to do the next quarter of a Legacy game. One I own.
    (I love the channel, it's Great. One of a select few I watch. No offense meant by anything said. You really do a great job - detailed unboxings, show set up, how to play, even contests or drawings. I don't know for others, unintentionally I hope, you make me want or actually purchase the games you show. The channel could be all you meant it to be, or just an extension of the gaming hobby. I don't want to sound like it should be or could be... I would need to try and become accustomed to another if not here to watch.
    My group situation has recently changed, as well as my solo time, not to long ago. I had one of those things happen where really the only thing to be said is "That life."
    Radio Personality I think my grandparents would call it. Rolling Solo has become my favorite Internet Personality. Just saying, situation could be making me askew. All meant to be , say, a positive comment. A Thanks for your contribution to the community could have been sufficient. I'm unable to get anything engraved.)
