I literally watched it dry up all the water. Pretty neat to see actually. Then 2 consecutive bottles of sea foam. 1 with the heat and ran about 1/2 tank. Then when I filled it I dumped another bottle of sea foam and she runs like a top! Hopefully the Cub clears out soon! Looks like a fun little plow. I got a trip bucket Paulson with the H and it’s ready to rock for this Minnesota winter!!

  • @jvin248
    @jvin248 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I suspect the previous owner, who didn't drive all that often with the tractor at a remote cabin, got caught by fuel cap evaporation (that you've solved). Second problem is ethanol will separate more water out if water is introduced from condensation and then that water sits in the bottom of the tank rusting as well as gumming up carbs. I've seen people test their fuel to verify real or ethanol by putting it in a jar with a marked water level, shaking it up, then comparing the water level to the original line. Remote cabins likely only had ethanol fuel available. You'll have it all sorted out soon though.

    Seafoam, works for both gas and diesel. 10hp lawn and garden tractor doesn't have the torque of the old iron 10hp tractors. Old red there is a true garden tractor. This is where Red had Green beat, I mean the JD Green and as much as I'm a fan of IHC/Farmall, JD and Oliver, each brand did have their strong points and the IHC Cub, probably the best if not still the best for it's class. On a lot of the tanks that i have cleaned once I got done it would still eventually clog up the sediment bowl inlet, and the solution that I have found is to put a screen on top of the sediment bowl. Why ask because I found always say When got Summer Season gas or Desiel drain out tanks before use Winter Season fuel added in tanks by October 1 and same with on April 1 to used up Winter Season fuels and when get Summer Season on fresh tank plus new fuel filter on to ! I know Summer Season fuels in Canada vechiles runs cooler and Winter Season months fuel run hotter! Also years ago my late Dad used put some Furance Oil fuel in Desiel motor also Desiel in Oil Furance Oil on both add 500 ml.of GM Automatic transmission type 2 or 3 on fuel tank plus oil Furance too! Also gas motor tanks add 1 gallon Desiel fuel plus 500 ml Automatic transmission also Bottle of fuel and carb cleaner in each year all year around! But in 1994 also 2000 not allowed have Desiel fuel or Automatic transmission fluid in Desiel motor vechiles to like Transport trucks the 3 to 15 tons or get fine and got drain out put good fuel in but farm tractors or combines still can Lol!

      @@FarmallFanatic It is surprisingly inexpensive to fly from Pittsburgh to SWFL in late January. About $135 round trip right now on Allegiant. My favorite, as us vets get free luggage and priority boarding, etc. Check it out. Late January can be our winter if you are a beach person, but it’s the tropics so how bad can it be? Wife gets same deal if accompanied. I don’t know if you are married, so whatever.

    I had a bad gas cap and I would go down the road a ways and it would quit. I put the gas cap on a different tractor and it quit in the same amount of time.

    Aged gasoline forms olefins, which is known as gums. Replace old gasoline with fresh gasoline.

    Ethanol attracts and absorbs water. Water is heavier than gasoline a settles in the bottom. That water corrodes the tank.

    Here's alittle tip I did with my cub. Unhook your lift arm and make your self another lift arm that you can attach to lift arm just like your stock arm weld a T on the bottom of it then just slid it under the blade frame put a bungie to hold it. You can actually shorten it to it will lift blade higher. No down pressure just the weight of the blade which then it will float. You want yo dig, grade then hook your original arm and have at it! Mine works great no pushing gravel out of the drive!

    Just a suggestion, you might want to try and clean your fuel tank using electrolysis method, it's inexpensive and effective but just slow. There are plenty of videos you can watch to see how to do it and you have all the equipment necessary. Best of luck and hope you resolve your issue with the little cub. 👍 enjoyed the video.
