    I followed this guide to install a Bluetooth adapter in my 2005 Prius, cheers!
    Hint for right-hand drive models: The first part removed in this video (with the air vent) also includes the power button, but it’s still fine to pull out. I just left it hanging connected by the power button cable while I did the rest.
    All in all, as someone who’s never pulled apart cars but has spent a lot of time fixing Macs… this was much easier!

    Wow, what a well done video. I have always been scared of taking dashboards apart but this video tells you exactly what screws and bolts to remove and how to pull on the plastic pieces without breaking tabs off. That bluetooth kit looks great. I am going to buy one.

    Attention 2005 Prius owners with a tape deck and 6-disc changer who are struggling to connect their Bluetooth kits: here's a quick fix. After installing the kit, try driving your car for a minute, then stop and turn it off. This process resets the car's computer system. You may need to repeat this once or a few times until it works. Once the system resets, it will display a new 'CD2' mode alongside the usual AM, FM, CD modes, and that's where you'll find your connected Bluetooth kit. So don't fret if you can't select 'disc' separately at first, your Bluetooth connection is just hiding under this new mode. Happy streaming!

    So I have a 2006 prius base model, would this work for mine? It doesn't have the CD changer stock. It just holds one CD and thats it so would it still work? Thank you and this is honestly the best tutorial video I've seen definitely a thumbs up!!

    does anyone know if the factory bluetooth has to be disconnected to be able to plug this module in?? can you use the factory mic??

    • @AprilFools1993
      @AprilFools1993 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I just installed mine and the answer is no. You do not have to disconnect.
      I have an android phone and I'm settings I "hands free" for "calls" and "GTA Car Kit" for audio. You must assign it this way or your android phone will not function properly when answering a call or trying to call out.
      I decided since it works this way, not to install the mic...

    • @KattDa
      @KattDa 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know if you have already solved this but after resetting the car a few times after installation, I go to disc changer and then press mode on the steering wheel, or perhaps pressing cd/tape an extra time, should bring up cd changer 2, as opposed to what will now be cd changer 1

    Will this work with a 2008 Prius Touring package 6? The package 6 already has Bluetooth built in but only allows me to make phone calls, I can't stream music which is what most people want. If so, will it use the mic that is already built-in to the Prius?

    • @aegann85
      @aegann85 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kickeramps This type of bluetooth accessory doesn't work in a Prius that is single disk and doesn't have a disk changer. You have to just use one of the bluetooth things that plug into the cigarette lighter. Seriously sucks because even the good ones don't play great. Wish I had known before installing the first device though so I wouldn't have broken all of my vent panels doing it and then had to spend another hundred replacing them. Good luck, hope you didn't destroy your panels in the process.

    • @aegann85
      @aegann85 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kickeramps I'm wondering if it's because I bought a cheaper one. Did you purchase one from GTA who made this video or did you get a different one? I looked up a multi disk player to see the difference in appearance and I'm pretty sure he's installing this on a base model as well. All I can think is that the one they sell is made to work on both and the one I bought isn't.

    • @KnifeSandwich
      @KnifeSandwich 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aegann85 yeah he’s installing on a single disk version in the video. If you use the multi-disk, you actually need a Y cable on top of the kit. The GTA works with the base stereo
