It's crazy he gets a denjin charged fireball without having to input denjin charge, but sure Ryu is the fireball shoto.

@@bardsonahill Glass-canons are generally an archetype that's meant to excel in most situations but have high risk in the form of low health to mitigate it.
Except...it doesn't end up panning out that way most of the time? Taking more damage doesn't necessarily play a part if you don't end up in that situation where you lose health. You have most of the tools needed to win neutral. All it really does is make playing the character more stressful.
Ryu should have had the same fireball travel times as akuma from the get go. That’s my only issue.

real talk akuma is SO damn cool in this game. i really really love the medium kick forcing stand to go into tatsu, idk if that was a thing in previous games but i love that, making combos feel more like Real (i guess) is sick. this game rocks so hard
Akuma has that gross muscular beer belly. His torso and abdomen look like a Milky Way that's been sitting in water for weeks then taken out and put in the freezer to salvage it.

Forward teleport is good against wake-up drive reversal, it crosses up and gives you time to get a sicknasty counterhit. If you don’t have time/are panicking, you can do the throw and it’s good damage
if you teleport after EX "hashogeki" follow-up you are +12f or so
No, Drive Reversal beats everything. If you commit, you will get punish.

Newcomer to SF; Why is everyone making note of Akuma having 1000 health less than the average character and saying that "he's gonna die super quick"? I understand he has less health but does that 1k really make that much of a difference (between dying normally and "super quick")?
It sorta depends but it's important to remember that with less health your opponent needs to spend less to kill you. Even if it's just doing a level 2 instead of a level 3 that can make a big difference
That's a good point. Once someone is dead if you spend everything, _you get to spend everything_ . A guy with 60% base health might actually die in less than half the timespan of a normal character.

Yes it's actually make a big difference. With low health, there's less chance for Akuma to guess or played badly. Example; Zangief OD SPD alone did 3400 damage. So if Akuma got 2x OD SPD from full health then he's already in critical health. And some characters in this game hit like a tank such as Marisa, Ryu, Luke, or Dee Jay where they can do 6000-8000 damage with combo super lvl 3 / CA + all Drive gauge spend + punish counter state.

Akuma is always a fun character. because of his low health pool, they pretty much just give him a bunch of bullshit that balances out since he will die from an ex counter hit gladius.
How are Demon Flip follow ups good against DI? I dont quite understand
It means that the opponent cant just see the demon flip and react with DI to beat it. Most follow ups will hit the DI and then you land and DI back I think.
just wondering, from a gameplay and balance perspective, does much actually change from characters like akuma having low health and high damage?
like, breakpoints aside, if he had 20% more health and 20% less damage he would basically be the same, just with longer rounds?
although i guess breakpoints are too big to just throw aside like that... akuma dying from 3 big combos instead of 2 is a huge deal whereas his damage output is more diverse against the rest of the cast... i dunno.
He'd arguably be stronger. SF6 has a cap on offense due to drive gauge and while Akuma can play the lame game, other characters cannot.

the difference in health seems so minimal when you consider 1 hp or hk is almost 1000 damage, so really hes just 1 heavy hit of difference in health.... but then when youre using him you feel like your life is just sapped away instantly lol

He should be OP having only 9000 health.
After fighting many people against, I can safely say that it is not as much as I expected. He has some tools but they can be punished. You can easily pass under Akuma air fireball by drive rushing and Akuma is left open for a punish counter. His teleport are also unsafe and his drive rush is not that great. His tatsu is horribble also... Ken is still king by far.

You guys are complaining about low health, but I’ve been training for this for months example even with ryu try putting the computer on level eight CPU with a three star advantage and having one combo take 90% of your life like that for hours. This isn’t so bad could be worse.
I played 140 akumas today. Out of 160 rounds. I dont want to play til the hype died down cuz thats insane
By the way, you can DI demon flip unlike other Street Fight game, so doing that is pure suicide against a good player.
Really struggling to see why the teleport is in his kit besides "he's akuma" with NO invuln, not a lot of movement, not a lot of speed, an unremarkable command grab and all this on a character with a damn good walk speed. Seems like you're just gonna get punched for trying it.

Fun fact: If you land the standing heavy kick while at low health, you can follow it up with crouching medium punch>light Adamant Flame>Raging Demon.
Akuma seems great until you realise a single full meter Ryu combo buries him
The balance in this game ain't great... some characters have lots of tools for every situation... and some have big flaws in their strategy... the balance patch recently did nothing for characters who are lower tier like lily and sim.
Grapplers and zoners are supposed to have big flaws in their toolkits
@@Switcheroo4542 Wouldn't say Lily was a true grappler... even so I think they could balance certain characters better... how many people do you see playing Lily or Sim online?... I fight Ken, Juri, Luke and JP mostly online and guess what... they are all high tier. Don't think that's a coincidence.
@@ToruKurosawa Balance in a fighting game isn't about making everyone the same strength necessarily. Annoying characters should ideally be lower tier.

Sim gets an immense long range drive rush confirm with the standing heavy kick buff and drive reversal on wake up is an immensely big system level buff.
