The localizers decided to put "Axe" in the western title, which got exceptionally confusing when the sequel came out and they had to keep the name for brand recognition. I apologize if this came up at any point during this 7 and a half hour stream but as someone who watched most of the earlier, shorter stream I wanted to get this off my chest lol
Actually wasn't aware of this, it seems like the western branches of video game companies were always changing little things here and there, most of the time not for the better. The name change worked for the first game but then came back to bite them in the ass with the second legendary axe. Having "axe" in the title doesn't make the game any more appealing.

Like... What's the best art you can actually create with it? I think you're the kind of person who could find out. You made some really cool Mario Paint artwork if I recall correctly.

I thought the legendary axe would be like a warrior's battle axe, not a primitive stone hand-axe. I guess that's why the hero is a caveman. But the enemies who look like Akira Toriyama drawings have actual battle axes, sometimes they even throw the axes at you and they return like boomerangs, that seems more like a legendary axe to me.
Somehow I love the satisfying feeling when you hit an enemy with the fully charged axe: the short stoppage of time, the sound of the hit, the enemy exploding into a million pieces....just wonderful. 2:26:17 my favorite videogame version of Battleship is Radar Mission for the Game Boy. It's still just a game of luck. But your fleet has to defeat 3 maps, there are one time use multi shot attacks you can uncover on the map, your aircraft carrier launches a jet if you survive long enough, it's really cool. I've only beaten the three mission campaign like 4 times but it's a really good time waster. Only play against the easiest opponent (the dopey guy), the other guys are cheating pricks. Admiral Volcano, the hardest enemy, is 100% impossible, I have no idea how anyone could ever beat him, because he knows where all your ships are, and for you, it's still a guessing game. Probably one of my favorite GB games.

I can tell you the 3rd game has better game mechanics. It's much smoother to play. I'd also love to see how long you last on the endless wave mode in both orcs must die and x-morph defense games

There were few home brew Castlevania games in the earlier 2000s where people used the graphics engine from that one shoddy arcade Castlevania to recreate Castlevania II from the NES. Those were interesting times. And there were two or maybe three well done home brew Mega Man games. And then we have Sonic Mania, hyped to stardom. I play it and think how much the developers behind it svcked at everything I hate about mostly bad rom hacks.
I remember those, they all controlled terrible if I remember correctly, but you get used to it. About Sonic Mania, I'm not really a Sonic fan however I still have fun with them even when it went 3D. What did you dislike about it? Apart from suffering from the same camera issues as the classic games(can easily be fixed with either a zoomed-out camera or make it move further away in any direction you're moving after a certain speed) and copy & pasting all the act 1s, I didn't notice anything too bad.

I've always appreciated both LA games. Part 2 has really good music and a solid aesthetic. It's even more underappreciated than LA1.
