    Why would there not be at least a token mention of distance vs your gamer? Even just a roughly listed amount so we could judge if it's a large or nominal difference. The shot correction at least for you looked to actually work well vs many other adjustable clubs. The tapping on the head and comments on sound I just didn't get. I've never done that in my life. Never tapped a driver head and I'm a complete golf ho. Sound at impact? Now that's important. I think the club looked shockingly cool and the adjustment was easy and unique. If not giving up much on distance and directional control could be easily manipulated they could have a winner.

    After many many years of playing all different oversized drivers and fairway woods, I went back to the original Orlimar trimetals. And my golf game returned.
    I found several backups on eBay. I’ll never go back to the oversized clubs again.

    Hopefully you give this a thorough testing. I like the idea of switching shafts and trying it. You mentioned the weight actually changing ball flight. That is huge. My interest is peeked!!!

    Orlimar of old was an awesome club to hit. They built some of the greatest woods ever. This is interesting. Hope to get more info on a review of it. Hope the average golfer will like this. Like the weight system for adjustment.

    I play Orlimar SF302 irons. I use the 12 degree Plus as my driver, 15 degree 3 wood. 19 degree 5 wood. I love Orlimar.

    Love when the lesser known brand impresses. You should put the shaft you have in your gamer into it and give it a go again

      mygolfspy I'm a Crossfield fan but not in his camp on the shafts topic :)

      Not a shot at Crossfield at all. He made valid points. It isn't about one person being right. This is all about helping golfers and that is what both of us are trying to do.

      mygolfspy Understood and my comment wasn't meant as a shot either, just say that I believe the shaft makes a huge difference, not just a cursory one- the belief other people have.
      Now go put your shaft in that Olimar, please?? Ha.

    very curious about the bottom dial thingy.... is that legit? Might be time to have some MGS testers give this thing a whirl! :)

    any idea of how much that head weight is, and I'm looking for something right at under 200g, any recommendations?

  • @demystifiedgolf1856
    @demystifiedgolf1856 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    How was the swing weight? I still play with my old orlimar fairway woods because I love the swing weight so much. It's as if the club swings itself. I can't figure out what makes them so unique in this way. Orlimar clubs just want to rocket through the ball on it's own.

    Since when does the sound of the ball off the sole matter? Seemed to have some pre conceived bias going into it. Glad you gave a fair shake

    I just subscribed and saw this. It reminds me of the DvD Season 2 driver Dial Shot. As others mentioned, I realize you didn’t classify this as a “review” but it would have been nice to see your numbers and averages. You guys are data driven so hearing “definitely not the best, definitely not the worst” as the summation is out of character.

    The tester, Sam, never says how his distance with the Orlimar compared to his favorite drivers. Plus, he needs to hit it with his favorite shaft for an apples to apples comparison. I'm intrigued by this golf club and it's "dial technology".

    Who owns Orlimar now? Are they still their own company??

    • @JoeGolfKing
      @JoeGolfKing 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure who owns it, but I've seen Orlimar clubs advertised and sold by Hireko Golf, which is generally a component supply company as far as I know. I don't think they sell the Orlimar clubs as separate components though.

    .... ok, so then what is your favorite driver to hit?

    • @mygolfspyvideos

      G400 LST

    • @commane21
      @commane21 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the feel of the Epic/Rogue. Will have to try the G400 LST before I pull the trigger.
      I think most of these drivers are the same, when it comes to distance -- the differences are mostly look and sound/feel (at impact).
