@@SRdeluna Well, what those companies ought to learn, then, is that with a consumer-base so sick and tired of all the bullshit business talk, transparency = boost in trust, and boost in trust from your players = boost in currency gained, because your transparency makes people want for you to succeed, and thereby actually spread the word to their friends/circles which might interest more people to give it a try. You, all of you at GGG did this to yourselves. You did this by creating a generational game, while also always staying true and transparent. I regret not know PoE1 before last year. I would have been blessed to have given you all 10+ years of support. Good job Jonathan and I know this game is going to be something I can tell my kids someday that this was the greatest ARPG to ever exist up to this point. Enjoy your suffering from success.
Appreciate the communication. Another great way to gain respect and praise from your community, by being transparent and pro-active in showing you are already working on solutions. Np, I can wait.
I wasn't going to buy it since I was due a key anyway for PoE1 purchases, the way they handled the delay and things like this are why I bought the $480 pack anyway. Not to mention the cosmetics, t-shirt, hoodie, and art book. The extra stuff is just icing on the cake imo, they deserve the money.
Best thing we could do is buy a key now and start logging in AFTER this weekend. So GGG does see the support but does not have to handle the stress with the servers.
If we can say stuff like that it's because we've been accustomed to such low things with everything. If people were honest and not greedy all the time we would live in such a better world, from video games to cookies.
They are, they're just not controlled by cronies like Ubisoft and Blizzard, the shareholders etc forcing them to act a certain way. Small companies have freedom. Small companies grabbing what, $30m+ at launch isn't ignored though and GGG will no doubt start to get offers for purchase, ESPECIALLY as the game heavily relies on MTXs. Wet dream for many AAA studios.

Master class in community management here. You just excused your company from being blamed for a "bad EA launch" by being honest and forthcoming with this information. Can't wait to play!!!
I know the feeling of not really knowing how much server capacity you need until its actually been used. I do that on a daily basis myself. You can prepare and calculate as much as you want but it almost always changes. Thanks for the honesty
on the bright side this is one of the strength of cloud computing--the ability to rapidly scale up or down. whether their system itself will scale that well remains to be seen!
You can always over-prepare especially when you're flooded with millions in revenue. Watch them not do that and then watch hordes of toxic fans yell at anyone that complains.
Thank you for communicating this to us. I just beat Act 10 for the first time ever and while I look forward to playing the EA; I’ve got an Atlas to finish before Settlers end. Thank you GGG!!!
Congrats on beating it!! If I may give a survival tip: remember to upgrade your chaos resistance! Both Act 5 and Act 10 bosses each drop your chaos res by 30%, and you will encounter more chaos damage than usual in the Atlas >.> higher than 0% chaos res is always better ofc, but if you can at least get that initial negative 60% out of the way you're already golden^^
Congrats GGG, followed you guys since the beginning of PoE 1 and now in the queue for PoE 2. Even though I know there will still be plenty of people who'll complain and likely tell everyone about it via Steam review (seems to be how most popular games go) I'm so grateful that we have a developer behind this game that understands the player point of view and knows where our concerns will lie with news like this. 1 Million is AMAZING but it does make players scared for what servers would be like. So thank you for addressing and acknowledging it and giving players a heads up of what to expect instead of just celebrating it and creating an assumption that it'll come out without any hitches. This is how you run a gaming company.
Seriously, how others don’t realize this by now is beyond me
@@higherlearning9386 oh they know, the realized it. They just don't give a f.... about it. When you think about it, makes it even sadder what game(companies)s had become. Good that there is still hope. Thanks GGG.
It's sad that people only like communication based on sales promotions.
The companies are set up differently, here you can clearly see a chad gamer that is one of the owners of the company, he answered thousands of questions in the past few weeks about POE and he had answer for 99% of those, most other companies have sales drone CEOs who only look at profit and nothing else. Try asking Blizzard CEO what he would do if a skill in Diablo is overpowered or underpowered... the dude wouldnt know where to start...
Or any company, for that matter. Like how hard was that to just make a quick video to communicate? It's free and it mitigates so much bad PR.
Literally just here to read through hundreds of comments showing amazing support. This is awesome communication, and the support and the amount that the community is rallying behind this message just cements what a good thing you all have going. Awesome stuff GGG.

Yeah, if it was "Diablo-like," they wouldn't say a thing, and we'd either be staring at a 60 hour que, or get some cryptic error code that gives you zero information on what went wrong. Or the infamous, "Please try again later." Especially helpful, that.

Exactly. I was thinking about burning a vacation day tomorrow, but I think I'll go in, keep an eye on reddit about the servers, and if by some miracle they're stable AND the que isn't insane (lol), then I'll head out early.
Yeah, it's 2024. We don't use pto for game releases anymore. It's never worth it lol
I think They can't do that, because they don't even put that much effort into their games, so how can you expect them to be honest and transparent about their games when they're only after the money.
The amount of transparency from this studio is insane. Other companies, please take note.
I think the other company doesnt believe in the word "transparency" and only believes in "currency" :)
It is literally why I've decided to get this game, despite not having played POE1.
