The intro of Penny never gets old …. The first “oh wow” moment is when Pietro says “you painted it”.. the don’t realize he’s the one that made her new arm.
Another example of how far Weiss has come from Volume 1 - literally throwing someone in the garbage for being discriminatory against faunus.

Don’t know if anybody pointed out, or if you noticed on your own, but the final bit of the intro was The Staff of Creation seen behind Monte’s credit. A nice homage.
Penny's character design has "grown" with her peers.....in vol.1-3 she still had the body of a child; here she has the body of a young woman...so even though she has a synthetic body, she doesn't look out of place among her friends on Team RWBY. There was plenty of fan speculation that they might rebuild Penny but also uncertainty if "new" Penny would know/remember her Beacon friends. The moment in this chapter when Penny's face lights up with happy recognition was so precious, because we all realized YEP, this is the real Penny who remembers her friends.
I love the magical girl music they gave Penny for her entrance.

Since I know you've already seen Volume 8 I'll just point out that Penny's appearance in the Volume 7 opener is a hint to something in Volume 8 that you only realize after the fact and then this intro hits you different when you see it again.
