I'm here watching cause I just bought a 2020 jeep renegade trail hawk and I want to see what it can do and I'm not even half way done with the video so far and am highly impressed with the choice

One thing that you'll probably see in these videos is that independent suspension provides great traction because slips and bumps on one side don't affect the other side (near as much). That's one reason I think the Cherokee and renegades did better on the tree.

Don't underestimate this "trashcan" only because you had issues! I have a Renegade Trailhawk here in Italy and it's great! Not a single problem and she act like a goat! I very like it! And nobody can't complain my opinion and experience! Great video my friend! Ciao from a italian Renegader!
Yeah, don’t let anyone ever tell you it’s not a real Jeep! Shot two videos with the blue Renegade the other day and it continued to prove itself! Thanks for watching!
@@coloradomallcrawlers Can't wait to see more videos of the renegade. I own a 2015 limited on 29" tall (235/60/18) Arturo trailblade xt's and 1" wheel spacers. I wish we had terrain like this in south Jersey. But we don't, so stock height will do for now. It's not as capable as my old 94 zj on 31 mud tires 2 inch lift and front and rear lunch box lockers but still enjoy it and the better mpg.
Toycoma thanks for watching! The next one will be a renegade video, probably a shorter one tho. However there’s two longer renegade videos already shot coming soon.
@@coloradomallcrawlers can't wait. I actually found your channel because I was searching for Cherokee videos since I feel those are a level or 2 above the renegade in capability due mostly because of hp and that rear locker (imo). Bbbbuuuuutttt then I see these guys in their renegades and it reminds me of why I bought one (even if it isn't a trailhawk) and helps me "keep the faith" in my decision lol.
Toycoma I’m a huge fan of the renegade because of its size! We keep making trail rigs bigger and bigger and I feel like the engineers don’t realize we need to fit on the trails too. Honestly, I was thinking about adding a Bronco yet I’m not so sure now due to it’s wider than a JL width (if that’s correct). But back to the renegade, hoping Jeep gives it a proper transfer case and maybe a locker in the future 😈
I really appreciate it! I’m hoping you all like this next one... I’ve edited a rough draft up to obstacle 1 (the flopper). I’ll get to obstacle 2 tomorrow (the v-notch) and maybe bowling ball hill (depends on work). Thanks for watching!
We have 2. A 16 dawn of justice and a 21 limited. Love the limited with the 1.3 turbo, the DOJ has the 2.4 tiger shark and is greatly underpowered, but I went from. Modded roush to that so I’m biased...lol. Both good vehicles. I want to put a lift and some off-road gear on the 16, it’s getting scuffed up from daily driving som I’m thinking about coating it in bed liner with at least a 2inch lift
Great job driving by all. I really like how you show that you don't need the fanciest built up Jeep to get out and explore the trails. Looking forward to more!
Thanks Bill! Yeah, trying to show others because building them right is expensive! My next one illustrates what I heard over the years which kinda pushed me to make this youtube! Thanks for watching!
I’m really glad I went with the Cherokee Trailhawk Elite last week for my new vehicle. I knew it would be capable but your videos make me feel it’s honestly pretty close to even the wrangler with a little lift and tires!
It definitely is in terms of capability... the 4 wheel drive system is well engineered on them. The only difference I see is in articulation and risk of body damage. However a good driver should be able to get them most everywhere!
Alizoid thanks buddy! I’m working on it... thinking I’ll do heavy editing on the trail guides and also occasionally film pretty scouting trips that should be easy to edit... gonna try it on the next one!
Okay, I am impressed with the Cherokees but mostly the Renegades. Just shows with a lift and tire upgrade other wise stock vehicle they are more than capable. Glad I found your channel, thank you.
The renegades are sweet! They’re quite durable too and I like that a lot. The next trail guide has a non-Trailhawk renegade and he’s getting that in better shape for trails so I bet we’ll see more renegades in 2023!
My wife has a Renegade. We ran it through some deep water recently running with the lifted wranglers. It lost a fuse from sitting with the fan under water too long, but held it's own. The guide for the day kept stopping and telling us he couldn't believe the Rene was keeping up. They could really use locking diffs, but the engineers claim the diffs aren't strong enough. The Cherokee can be had with a rear locker, but the available gear ratios are different. No swap option. Sucks. Great video! You have a new subscriber.
I’m absolutely with you! The engineers need to figure it out and give the trailhawks the option, like a renegade Trailhawk recon or something. Anyway, I should have a Renegade for Tincup pass this weekend and I have no doubt he’ll keep up with us there. Thanks for watching and I appreciate you subscribing!
I don’t off-road but wish I did. NYS doesn’t have public land for that activity. And I’d probably cry my eyes out anyway if I damaged my Grand Cherokee. But I love watching other people’s videos. And honestly, it’s the crossover type vehicles, like the Renegade, that amaze me the most. They’re just out there punching above their weight class.
I like Slaughterhouse as it usually doesn't have too deep of snow in the winter and I can still run it in my 2020 Can Am X3 XRC . I used to do it all of the time in my old Arctic Cat as well.
Just ran slaughter house today solo after seeing your video. You not kidding those hills are way steeper than they look on video !! Sweet video keep it up !! 😊✌
Reinholdt Messner yes sir, but that’s what makes them fun! 😉 Will do, trying to crank out the next one, then a few will pop up soon after if I can find a good place to upload at.
Love your stock wheeling videos. I've avoided several of the trails you review based on Funtreks difficult rating but with your videos and variety of vehicles these seem a lot more doable than the impression I get from the guidebooks. See you on the trail!
@@samkangal8428 money is definitely getting harder to come by . I definitely have to save and sacrifice for them , but taking more time . Fortunately you can pick up old GC , Libbey, Commander, Patty's Cherokees for a decent price to go wheeling with or a side Jeep. But Wranglers a little bit more cash for that but shop around you could find a good deal ✌
I love my Renegade Trailhawk! Crazy that they do better than wranglers in some situations! I did the Alpine Loop and Imogene and Ophir Passes with my Renegade and loved its capabilities!
Size definitely matters! Really hoping Jeep realizes this and upgrades the renegade further for more difficult off-roading in stock configurations. Nimbleness definitely matters, thanks for watching!
@@coloradomallcrawlers I’m a manager at the ice rink up here (I basically drive a Zamboni for a living. 😏) our season isn’t over yet so trips are out of the question. But once May is over I’ll be able to hit trips and trails! Are you on JROG?
Tires tires tires. That blue renegade did well and some of those trouble areas would have been a lot easier with better traction which I'm sure he's aware of😁
He wheels that Jeep well and I’ll be sad to see him move to another vehicle. However, I’m sure we’ll still get good video on the new ride once he has it. Thanks for watching!
@@coloradomallcrawlers That's fine if he wants to keep them. Nothing wrong with that, but that Renegade needs more bite. Higher traction tires will make Renegade look even better, especially since there's still a lot of people who rag on it.
As a renegade Trailhawk owner I can say tires are the hardest thing to figure out. Either they aren’t aggressive enough, or they are too big to fit or turn. Very hard to find the perfect tires!
poobank I’m not well versed on their systems, but I know the Cherokee has a true low range and locker. The renegades may be a simulated low range. It’s definitely intriguing. Jeep developed an AWD/4WD for the JL so I know the tech is getting good enough that Jeep is trusting it in their flagship off-roader. Thanks for watching!
Not meant to be a harsh criticism so please don't take it as such, I love your videos, that said you're unnecessarily chewing up the trail and making it harder for those that come after you by not airing down at least a bit
While editing these videos I watch closely how the tires interplay with the terrain. I notice very little difference in my videos between my aired up tires and the others who are aired down. It really just comes down to how much throttle is applied. I follow Jim Allen’s philosophy on airing down and it works well. It’s an additional traction aid. Also, as a manual driver, I feel I have a better feel for the terrain when aired up which allows me to work the clutch more efficiently. Thanks for watching!
I just seen the lovely lady's renegade build on tfl's channel and that made me want a renegade more especially now seeing it in action and she is still on stock tires in this video
You got over 50,000 views on this video. Looks like viewers like to see a variety of different Jeeps going on a trail together to see how each Jeep model handles the trail.
Sean Watson well that tree was stupid... you’re supposed to be able to get one tire over, then the other... what’s this straight on nonsense on an incline. Not going to get in between you two, but I’m pretty sure Fearless has walked us around his KL, you have not 😉🤣
There is a difference between what i cut off the trails and this. I would have driven over this one. Though i suspect that as it gets more and more dug out, this tree will be cut by the end of the year.
@@FearlessTrailhawk that's possible. I think we would have tried yours anyway. I don't know if ours was supposed to be down or not. But it was fun anyway
Good Job, well done👍🏻👏🏻 I have a Renegade with a Rooftent too Not a Trailhawk, only the Softie Street Model. Nice to see what is possible with a Baby Jeep. 😉 The same Tracks with a Hybrid Renegade was nice to see. Have fun and be fine Nice regards from Germany (near Heidelberg) Stephan 👋🏻
I love Germany! Right before COVID-19, I did a train trip through your country and it was amazing! I’d like to go back and explore more of it off-road. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, it’s our biggest complaint with them... I think their size is perfect, but Jeep needs to give them more power for wheeling. If so, they might be little unstoppable machines. Thanks for watching!
The 2.4 engine is certainly too weak for Jeepin’ when combined with street gearing and a low-stall torque converter. The 2.4 engined Jeeps without low-range get into ruts where all four wheels have traction, the throttle is floored, and no wheels will spin - it can’t deliver enough torque to the wheels to go. Very un-Jeeplike. It is, on the other hand, very Subaru-like. The 2.5 CVT-equipped Subaru’s have the same problem, for which Subiphobes offer every excuse in the book, and are often seen in a rut while trailing, with the gas pedal floored and nary a wheel turning. It even shames me to have to compare the off-road performance of a Jeep with that of a Subaru ...
@@sking2173 I have a 2020 Renegade TH with the 1.3l Turbo has more torque. The few times I have been out I have not seemed to have the power cut like the older years with the 2.4.
@@ajsedlacek - Glad to hear that you are pleased with the Renegade’s performance. I have yet to drive the 1.3 ... I had hoped that it was better than the 2.4 on the trails. The 2.0 turbo in the Cherokee is a capable lump, and it would certainly wake up the Renegade/Compass. I have assumed that Jeep didn’t want to cannibalize Cherokee sales by putting that engine in the two smaller offerings.
@@sking2173 I was talking with a buddy about exactly this. If money were not an object, would love to try to transplant that entire drivetrain into a Renegade.
Being as I only have a sport model I do not have the lower range or height these do, it will be interesting to see my ability on the steeper/more technical trails.

Yes thank you for this! I want more ideas for my renny! I'm in CO and got a renegade trailhawk for its city + mtn versatility. I'm trying to figure out my first mods, now that it's nearing winter I might wait until spring. But I'm thinking lift 1.5-2", not sure what tires yet but I'd like to go 2 sizes bigger and hopefully not need wheel spacers, though I haven't figured out if they actually do anything other than allowing for larger tires, and then rails. As of now though I've done a few moderate (trails offroad rating 3-4) as stock and she's done splendid!
Lauren Clack of course! I’d suggest joining the Facebook group modified renegades and Devyn and Davon are part of a Colorado Trailhawk group. That should help you find the information you need. Thanks for watching!
Let me start off by saying *old guy here**who had a CJ-7 kidney rattler back in the day. Second year production 1977 The original *Renegade* and later the 2nd year 1988 YJ *Original* Wrangler. Go modern design Jeeps! The rolling brick snobs hate them but I love my 2015 Jeep *second year* reinvented Cherokee Trailhawks shark nose! It's the reason why I bought it brand spankin new. It looks like a Jeep that was designed in the 21st century!Yeah it's not solid axel but it is unibody like the original. Has a much tamer ride with it's independent suspension. It looks exactly like something Willy's Motors would have had on display at the 1964 Worlds Fair! "The Jeep of the Future! 😏 Sleek, luxurious, and capable" It is like a childhood dream to own this vehicle. I wouldn't expect you youngsters to understand the significance of that😒 But it's just what an old fart who likes the woods needs😏 Not a rehash of the 1940 flat fender. I wouldn't have a problem with the reinvented Renegade if it was available with the 3.2 liter that's in the Cherokee. Its compact kinda like the Willy's or CJ5 and acts totally capable *when modded* but just a bit underpowered. **Then again wasn't the original Willy's 50-60 horses?** Anyway, 2015 Cherokee T H 3.2 V-6 with 2" lift on 245/ 70/17 Cooper discoverer AT4S gives me a respectable 11.7" of ground clearance. 2" is max safe height to avoid drive axel strain. And sticking with the 245 width in a 70 series, the 1" taller tire makes no need for pinch weld mod, plus the spare fits in the original spare tire well!👍 Currently sitting on stock shocks and springs. Next upgrade Dobson or Fox 👍You'll all be old and grey one day...(if you aren't already 🙄) Wisdom kids....Wisdom. I didn't grow up until I was 60.. Actually.. I never grew up!🤣 Follow my lead👍
Greetings Jeep Grand father, I'm 3rd generation Cult the last of the AMC years with a few Kaisers still around. I would freeze to death in the 79 CJ 7 and was worse in the 75 CJ5 . I'm 50 and hair falling out and love heated seats , ac , don't have to get out and lock the hubs. It's incredible what big J has done. I currently have a17 JKU , 17 MK and a 15 WK2 . I love each one for different reasons but they are all solid Jeeps no matter what model , Big J wrote the book on 4 wheel drive , and your generation 2nd and 1st taught the 3rd mine , now my kids are 4th and 5th and Jeep Cult life continues. Thank you Mr Bob, sir you guys are pioneers ✌🦆
Impressed by the Cherokee's performance. Renegade also did much better than I expected but the Cherokee make some of that look easy even compared to the Wrangler. Also, I think I saw that white Renegade in the TFL channel on the "I love or hate my ride?"
Yeah, I really liked how this video shows the differences between the vehicles. The wrangler is a beast tho, it was just aired up and on bald tires. Still, I wouldn’t mind owning any of these vehicles! Yes sir, she was driving the 4 door unlimited here and her husband took control of the renegade, but that was her. Thanks for watching!
Took my stock 2014 F-150 on the trail, didn't do all the obstacles, but made it through ok, the worst part is having a longer wheel base for some of the humps...running boards touched about a dozen times.
That looks so much fun. Use to have a kL Trailhawk with a lift, duratracs and sliders and loved the thing. Have a lifted frontier pro-4x now but would love to go with you guys at some point
those renegades have an unusual sound to them. almost like the engine isnt directly connect to the trans, maybe a CVT or something, but like the way the engine pegs out at a steady rpm, and the trans is taking that power and moving it around to the different wheels. but.. seems like thats going to be tough on clutches inside the trans. honestly it looks like they could use more power. you can tell the compass has more power and the vehicle actually lets itself use it.
It's the torque system, it's not a true 4x4 but it's an awd that will slip power to each wheel in order to gain traction, the low mod locks it into the first gear that isn't used for normal driving.
Very nice. The weather made it a little more challenging with the slippery conditions. slaughterhouse looks like it would be fun even a Wrangler on 37’s. I hope someday soon to get back to Colorado and try it out....
Mike Robbins For sure! Yeah, it’s definitely fun, but Jeep on 37s would have a blast on the trail I just got back from... wheeler lake! So much fun and required my best to get through it.
Thank you! 2.4Ls… he recommended the 1.3L in his walkaround due to the increased torque and tunes available. Sorry for not including that in the video info… this was an early one.
My only complaint about the Trailhawk is that even if you mash the throttle against a obstacle, it seems the engine is being limited... where as when you watch the Cherokee at 13:07 you can tell that its allowing the engine to rev more which seems to help him. Granted it has a bigger motor, but just my observation
Possibly, we all are constantly learning and improving... I still don’t feel I have the JK mastered like I had my TJs. Sean has done some incredible stuff in the Trailhawk but I’ll let him check this comment out. He’s always looking to get better as we all are. Thanks for watching!
Bigdawg that is a good observation here.. the difference really comes down to torque and not having a proper low range. The renegades "4low" technically locks them in 1st gear , but still the only have about 185 or some odd foot pounds of torque. The cherokee, whether it's the.3.2 liter pentastar v6 or the 2 liter turbo 4 like I have not only have a proper dual pto low range transfer case , but my Jeep has over 100 more foot lbs of torque. That really makes the difference in crawling situations like this. I didn't have any issues having enough power to walk up that. We talk constantly about how jeep needs to give the renegades more torque and how much more capable that would make them. Really good observation though, because the bigger engine and significantly more torque makes all the difference in the world
I was wondering if the limited rpm was a traction control thing or something of that nature. Definitely not going to be able to clean the tire out or get any heat in it if it won’t spin.
@@rustyhester6199 Exactly it cuts the horsepower because they used rock as the select terrain mode...if you use auto with lock and low and press the esp key to deactivate the traction control it doesn't cut the horsepower...rocvk cuts it electronically so you don't crash the car on the rocks.
That dark cherokee had real low tire pressure you can see the grip. But holy cow I didn't know the renegades so good off-road. Its shape is perfect it's just needs more torque and better locker or awd system. I might go with a bronco sport but kinda wanna testdrive a renegade 😂 its like a better looking Fj
I like both the Compass and the Renegade they are on my shortlist of new cars along with Subaru Crosstrek and Forester. The keeping me from pulling the trigger is the perceived reliabilty of the drivetrains. THe new 2.0 8speed auto combo is the way to go in the Compass for driving dynamics but I was always partial to the more agricultural 2.4na, I just didn't like that 9 speed auto in it! I'm also dubious about the new 1.3t in the Renegade I believe they are both Fiat engines and they don't overwhelm with long term durabilty much adding in the rigors of off roading. What are these guys running in them? DO the 2.4l really have as serious of an oil burning issue that is reported?? These are the only things keeping me from pulling the trigger. Lastly how do the Renegades do on long interstate trips? Do they buffeted around are they comfortable for a larger guy? 6"1" 245... Thanks in advance for any guidance! Brent
Fun looking trail! Keep up the good work! Don't get me wrong, the BU's are okay at basic stuff, but their lack of low range really hinders their ability to do the more moderate obstacles without lots of rock stacking. And using high-range 1st gear for that long and hard isn't gentle on components either, but since they lack the low range, they have to use more speed, which is also a great way to bust steering components.
@@coloradomallcrawlers imo, they are waay to tippy. I've seen more of those on their sides/tops than anything else. And then all these people are ADDING more weight to the very top...further increasing their roller over chance.

I am honestly blown away by these little Jeeps, they get a lot of hate from 'real' Jeep fans (I mean narrow minded pricks with sticks up their butts) but they dont get the fact that Renegade is how Jeeps stays in the market, makes more sales and can continue to make the best 4x4s. I have nothing but respect for all Renegade owners for taking their Jeeps wheelin
I think the Renegade is one of the most underrated off-road vehicles. For being as small as it is, it's extremely capable! The only down side in my opinion is how under powered it is with the 2.4L. But I believe they offer a 1.5l turbo now in the new ones that should be a lot better.
Yes sir! I agree, and I wish more of the off-road manufacturers realized we need nimble off-roaders. Not they ultra wide vehicles they’re building. Anyway, thanks for watching!

Well, I’m not the renegade owner so I’m not sure what the appropriate amount of mods are. Just be careful, mods can affect your reliability. If I get a renegade, I’ll likely keep it stock to see how far I can get a stock one. Thanks for watching and good luck finding some fellow Renegade owners!

I don’t have much history on it, but that’s definitely something I need to add... I have started using GAIA’s 1900s and 1930s maps to help with the historical aspect. As of 1900 (no 1930 map in this area), nothing in this area. The railroad went through Bailey (pretty close) and it looks like the road towards the trail was a wagon road. Thanks so much! I have a trailhawk but im so worried of doing the wrong thing and breaking it. i guess if I keep watching these videos and turn the sound up I can desensitize myself of all the 'bad sounds' and not cringe when I go on trail lol
Well, I never want to encourage someone to do stuff they’re not ready for. I’d start with east trails and work your way up. Still, skids plates are designed to be hit and when they get hit, they make the sounds that make us feel uneasy. You’ll get use to it and thanks for watching!
@Colorado Mallwalkers : You stated that you like the Renegade, and I think it can be surprisingly capable, but I also think that anyone that plans to do much serious trailing should get their Renegade equipped with Active Drive II - the system with the low range. The 2.4 engine with the automatic transmission is simply too limp to work well on some of the more challenging trails without an extra dose of gearing. This could be seen a time or two in this video, when the throttle was wide open and the Renegade wasn’t moving, and wasn’t even spinning a wheel. If all someone wants is to drive on the street with the added security of 4-wheel-drive in the rain and snow, the Active Drive I is fine, but it’s not the best for Jeepin’ ...
All the renegades in these videos are trailhawks so I think they have the best 4x4 drive system offered in them, whatever that is. I’ll admit, I’m not well versed in the renegade’s systems, but they’re fun to film. Thanks for watching!
The thing is no Renegades have actual low range (no, not even Trailhawks). What they do to "fake" a low range for that trim is they give it a low final drive gear ratio around 4.33:1 and then they program the 9-speed transmission to always start in 2nd gear for street driving. Popping the "4x4 Low" button simply drops the transmission into the 1st gear, netting a meager crawl ratio of 20:1, which is peanuts compared to the 77:1 or 84:1 you get on a stock Wrangler. So a "Trailhawk" Renegade gets 20:1, want to know what the 1st gear crawl ratio is of a non-Trailhawk Renegade like a Latitude trim? Its about 18:1 (lmaoooooo) So the Trailhawk trim on a Renegade or Compass... pretty much just marketing hype with 1/2 inch taller tires, 1/2" longer stock struts, better set of factory tires, and a magic button that lets you use 1st gear as a make-believe low range. The only good upgrade you get from the factory on TH trim is the the skid plates.
@@andrewrudlang2785 - Thanks for posting - and teaching me something. I researched what you said, and you have it all correct. More power and torque would of course make a huge difference but the fact that these drivers are trying to take them on trails and push them to their limits speaks more to their driving ability than some guy in a 4 door rubi on 40s walking up a trail with 0 effort , exhibiting 0 driver skill whatsoever. Honestly, I was thinking about adding a Bronco yet I’m not so sure now due to it’s wider than a JL width (if that’s correct). But back to the renegade, hoping Jeep gives it a proper transfer case and maybe a locker in the future 😈
Those renegades are impressive! They can hold their own
Yeah for sure!
Shopping for a Renegade. This just sealed the deal!!
They are sweet little Jeeps… ignore the gatekeepers (they’re probably the true mallcrawlers).
I watch way too many wheeling vids on TH-cam and yours are my new favorites, by far!
I really appreciate it! I’m hoping you all like this next one... I’ve edited a rough draft up to obstacle 1 (the flopper). I’ll get to obstacle 2 tomorrow (the v-notch) and maybe bowling ball hill (depends on work). Thanks for watching!
I love seeing all the different jeeps together
Me too... I’m debating adding a Trailhawk myself, but I think want to get the 4XE and try stuff like doing a trail only in electric mode 😂
Renegades just earned a whole more respect from me
They’re awesome little machines!
To the Cherokee driver... you sir are and fine and talented wheeler. I salute you.
Yeah, they both are pretty awesome… they filmed black bear with me yesterday and made it look like a piece of cake. Thanks for watching!
Grab a jeep or whatever yur flavor and get out and enjoy respect
It's actually pretty cool to see the Cherokee and smaller Jeep models go off-road.
I love watching them myself... thanks for watching!
I have an MP Compass, essentially a Renegade with a long WB. She's a brick but capable.
A Jeep is a Jeep .I love all of them ,from Willy to today .
Jeep definitely tries to infuse them all with Jeep DNA, I agree!

Cherokee driver knew his car very well. Very Impressed

The most smooth ride provided by Cherokee drivers 🎉
Those little Renegades are pretty impressive. If you just wanted a daily driver that is good in bad weather it looks like a great option.
I absolutely agree!
@@coloradomallcrawlers The thing I like about them compared to say a Crosstrek is no cvt.
I love mine in the snowy midwest, it's a bit sluggish but if you're a bit aggressive with it then you really can't tell too much

Awsome video!! So cool to see the smaller and less conventional jeeps making it through and having fun!
Thank you so much! I love watching them myself!
Definitely impressed by those Renegades for sure. Those Cherokees were awesome as well.
Yeah they are!
Literally every video that grey Cherokee is in makes everything looks simple.
Yes he does! The Cherokee is awesome! However, durability is a question mark, still, it’s a great Jeep!
Awesome. Love seeing the "little" Jeeps stretching their legs. (from a 4Runner driver!).
Going be editing a new one with a non Trailhawk renegade that really surprised me. Great little wheelers!
A lot of the blue Renegades problems would of been solved with just some better A/T tires I think, they did great though.
We’ve told him that, but he loves those tires lol
YEAH! I noticed those tire and even with low thread it handled perfect
I JUST bought a Renegade Desserthawk. This video has me salivating.
They are fun little off-roaders for sure! Thanks for watching!
Perhaps your best video yet! Loved the editing and camera angles on this one 🙌🏻 Watching that blue Jeep go was something else wow 😳
Alizoid thanks buddy! I’m working on it... thinking I’ll do heavy editing on the trail guides and also occasionally film pretty scouting trips that should be easy to edit... gonna try it on the next one!

Just bought a 2021 Renegade Trailhawk...great all around little jeep, great gas mileage and more than capable for offroading. Nice video!!!
They are sweet Jeeps for sure! Thanks for watching!
It’s hilarious that you actually bleeped bad language in the video. Nice. Love watching.
😂, I thought it was funny too! I miss you buddy... you know you’re our best cameraman and co-producer!
I just went to my local Jeep dealership to look at a Renegade Trailhawk. I will be buying g one soon.
Very cool, they’re sweet little machines!
@@coloradomallcrawlers as I seen. Thanks for the video😊👍
It’s a great activity and a great way to see the beauty of the country! Well, until you’re ready, we’ll keep turning out the videos!
I like Slaughterhouse as it usually doesn't have too deep of snow in the winter and I can still run it in my 2020 Can Am X3 XRC . I used to do it all of the time in my old Arctic Cat as well.
sounds like youve had fun there... thanks for watching!
Those little renegades are surprising for sure, but good hell that exhaust note is horrendous.
They sure and I never paid attention to that, but I could see it.
The Renegades sound like hairdryers, but did much better than expected...
I think they sound cool. Like little gremlins
Love your stock wheeling videos. I've avoided several of the trails you review based on Funtreks difficult rating but with your videos and variety of vehicles these seem a lot more doable than the impression I get from the guidebooks. See you on the trail!
Absolutely! I recommend starting with lower rated trails and work your way up! The goal is for the videos to be accurate tho. Thanks for watching!
Jeep forever !
Jeep Cult, must have a few different models to truly enjoy, never trade them, just add . They are all special in their own way ✌🦆
@Tim Cincade
It would be cool to collect them ,but unfortunatly the money...
@@samkangal8428 money is definitely getting harder to come by . I definitely have to save and sacrifice for them , but taking more time .
I agree. Looks like it would do so much better with a little bit more aggressive tire.
He likes those tires tho! I think he wants to put them on his Bronco.
Call video I enjoyed seeing the all-wheel-drive versus four-wheel-drive . It’s cool to see just how far those all-wheel-drive systems can go
poobank I’m not well versed on their systems, but I know the Cherokee has a true low range and locker. The renegades may be a simulated low range. It’s definitely intriguing. Jeep developed an AWD/4WD for the JL so I know the tech is getting good enough that Jeep is trusting it in their flagship off-roader. Thanks for watching!
People talk crap about that little Renegade but it gets the job done with a little bit of after market pieces.
Absolutely!
Thank you so much for all of your videos. Very well detailed.
I really appreciate that!
I’ve never been into off roading but I kinda want a Renegade now.
Off-roading is the gateway to exploring the land… I definitely recommend it!
Congratulations to Renegades from Brazil. It was epic!
Thank you! They’re sweet little vehicles!
I just seen the lovely lady's renegade build on tfl's channel and that made me want a renegade more especially now seeing it in action and she is still on stock tires in this video

Those renegades sound like the power is badly cutting out from the computer. Kick ass video!
Driver skill is always key in my book.
Thanks, great video.

Thank you!
I wouldn't expect you youngsters to understand the significance of that😒
But it's just what an old fart who likes the woods needs😏
Not a rehash of the 1940 flat fender.
I wouldn't have a problem with the reinvented Renegade if it was available with the 3.2 liter that's in the Cherokee. Its compact kinda like the Willy's or CJ5 and acts totally capable *when modded* but just a bit underpowered.
**Then again wasn't the original Willy's 50-60 horses?** Anyway,
2015 Cherokee T H
3.2 V-6 with 2" lift on 245/ 70/17 Cooper discoverer AT4S gives me a respectable 11.7" of ground clearance.
2" is max safe height to avoid drive axel strain. And sticking with the 245 width in a 70 series, the 1" taller tire makes no need for pinch weld mod, plus the spare fits in the original spare tire well!👍 Currently sitting on stock shocks and springs.
Next upgrade Dobson or Fox 👍You'll all be old and grey one day...(if you aren't already 🙄)
Wisdom kids....Wisdom. I didn't grow up until I was 60.. Actually.. I never grew up!🤣 Follow my lead👍
I’m likely never growing up lol. I liked your comment and your perspective! Thanks for sharing!
That looks like fun. I wish I had a trail hawk renegade rather than a 4x4 Dawn of justice
I don’t know much about the differences between the two, but I’m sure yours is a sweet Jeep!
Took my stock 2014 F-150 on the trail, didn't do all the obstacles, but made it through ok, the worst part is having a longer wheel base for some of the humps...running boards touched about a dozen times.

Trust me, many of the renegade wheelers want one… it’s just not currently possible. Thanks for watching!
Renegades have size on their side as well. Sometimes bigger isnt always better my friends.
Absolutely!
those renegades have an unusual sound to them. almost like the engine isnt directly connect to the trans, maybe a CVT or something, but like the way the engine pegs out at a steady rpm, and the trans is taking that power and moving it around to the different wheels. but.. seems like thats going to be tough on clutches inside the trans. honestly it looks like they could use more power. you can tell the compass has more power and the vehicle actually lets itself use it.
I usually don’t care about the sound, I’m more for how they person the trail. Thanks for watching!
All jeeps matter!🇺🇸🎇🎆🎊🎉
All Jeepers matter lol
What are the engines of these renegades ? Congratulations on your channel !
I had a renegade trailhawk best decision I made was to trade it in on a Rubicon
I definitely like the renegade, but I’m glad you’re happy with the decision... Rubicons have served me well.
What they have do better in the n'est renegade 2022. Im looking to get one son but im not sure if i should wait some years or go strait to the 2022
Warranty and apparently the new motor is better... watch Davon’s walkaround for more info.

That dark cherokee had real low tire pressure you can see the grip. But holy cow I didn't know the renegades so good off-road. Jeep Renegade is Capable with all these Jeeps. Wow!
They did great!
I've got 2016 Jeep Renegade - Dawn of Justice 2016 Enjoying winter drive in Canada but has never done the off-road. 👍
Brent

@@coloradomallcrawlers I appreciate the Co. trails you show. Watched most of them.
Fearless Trailhawk Yeah, but the size is awesome! I’m hoping Jeep gives them an upgrade!

Fearless Trailhawk well maybe so, but they seemed balanced with my only experience with them. However, I don’t drive one so I don’t know.
Well said! Plus, the whole product line fuel mileage thing... buying credits from Tesla seems dumb. Thanks for watching!
good views, great vehicle!
Thank you! They sure are!
Anyway, thanks for watching!
.... To think the Willys was smaller than the Renegade ....
Loved you video! I have a 2018 Jeep Renegade Turbo. I lifted it 4 inches and put bigger K02 tires. Got a winch in the front with recovery points and tow hitch recovery. Seeing all your mods is making me want to do more to my little rig! I have yet to find a Renegade Club in the Bay Area or a Renegade with mods besides mine (ಥ﹏ಥ)
These lil mitymites are getting some! Nice trail guide, any history to the trail? Why its there? Loved your shots, very well put together. I am in awe of your talents! Hahaha that log made the wranglers look bad! Woo, that blue ones workin it, lil billy goat! These guys gotta try the Rubicon 🤣 you? May need some more practice. 😂 just joshing, great vid i had fun the more lax the footage got and the commentary too!🤣
I don’t have much history on it, but that’s definitely something I need to add... I have started using GAIA’s 1900s and 1930s maps to help with the historical aspect. As of 1900 (no 1930 map in this area), nothing in this area. The railroad went through Bailey (pretty close) and it looks like the road towards the trail was a wagon road. Thanks so much! I just want the vehicles to look great! I could see them being willing to give it a go. 🤣🤣🤣... I definitely need the practice, just wait for my next one, I got roasted 😂. Yeah, I’ll constantly be experimenting... the commentary on the next one is all one take and go, not sure if that’ll be a good thing 😝 🤣. Thanks for the support buddy!
@@coloradomallcrawlers i to enjoy the map overlays and have thought i also should add some history. Dude the candid camera stuff was golden, looking forward to the next one.
Is that a roof tent on the blue Renegade? What is the make /model?
Yes, it’s a roofnest falcon. We will do a walkaround of that renegade once I get back to Denver.
I'd like to know where I could get one of those renegade lifts.
Facebook groups are great for getting that info. Modified Jeep Renegade is a group I’m in that can likely provide expertise!
Love the renegade, just alittle to much power cut when it’s trying to figure out where to put traction down
No rock mode! o auto o mud and sand.... does not cut power.
What this means is that this TrailCanary isn’t much better than Subaru’s pitiful traction-control/X-mode system on the trails. That’s shameful for a vehicle with Jeep written on it!
And even sadder is that the Compass also doesn’t have a low range available.
@@sking2173 this is what you're missing. It's the cherokees that have ad1 , ad2, and ad lock. We have proper 4 low. We have a proper locker. The renegades were marketed to be the most capable rigs in their segment of vehicle. And there is no doubt that they are. More power and torque would of course make a huge difference but the fact that these drivers are trying to take them on trails and push them to their limits speaks more to their driving ability than some guy in a 4 door rubi on 40s walking up a trail with 0 effort , exhibiting 0 driver skill whatsoever. Is it fun wheeling If it's effortless and boring ? Or is it more fun wheeling to actually have to use skill to traverse obstacle's, while still having a vehicle you enjoy a ton driving home from said trail ????
@@seanwatson3790 Personally its whatever the owner of said vehicle finds fun.
