save the money. get the C700 and invest part of the savings in better speakers....you'll hear the difference then....some KEFs or Monitor Audios would fit nicely, cheers
Personally I totally agree with you, 101%, all life long M10 v2. If you don't need Dirac (or the awesome front touch panel) go for the Node V2 instead.
@@dougschneider8243 Ok, doing the setup directly at the device isn’t so cumbersome. But, if you can create an app for the screen fixed to the amp, it must be possible for a handheld screen too, in my opinion. To limit maintenance to the direct contact with the device is not plausible to me. Another way is bringing back all the knobs and switches, like Hifi Rose RA 180 instead of presenting a clean fascia like they did with all their other streaming amps. Hard times for designers.
Thanks for the review! It is informative to hear some well-articulated personal preferences pertaining to two products from the same respected company, such as your video shows, with NAD. I am trying to narrow my choices down as I continue my search for newer equipment. Thanks, again!
Unless you have the amp set next to your listening position, as long as you can control it with your phone, the touch screen is nice but irrelevant to me. The EQ however is useful
Nice story. I bought myself the BlueSound Powernode N330 with that RC1 1 BlueSound remote, control the thing also with an iPad or MacBook Pro when I wanted a screen to play with and put some Kef LS 50 meta's on their stands and a KC62 subwoofer on it. Just for playing cd's a simple TEAC PD-301DAB-X is put under it. Sounds OK to me in my apartment and doesn't take too much room. If the M10V2 becomes cheaper within a few years I can always think of buying it but then I also consider buying a Kef R7 Meta set. I don't think that will happen in the apartment I live in now. Happiness starts with finding it in little things.
Hi, thanks for the review 👍 Question, do you know of "Dirac room correction" also will work on the Pre-out when I have connected a pair of active speakers to the Pre-out like 'Genelec G Three'? Thanks.
Do you have a view yet on the NAD C399? For someone whose priorities are first, sound quality and second, ease of operation, which might you recommend? Thanks.
@@dougschneider8243 I got a really low price on a c388 with a blueos card installed. I am curious on your views to how the sound quality would compare with these two you compared and the c399. Don’t know if I would get much in the way of sound improvement other than via Dirac?
Doug, excellent review. I am trying to understand the digital surround sound function added to the V2. yes you have a subwoofer and yes you can add to Bluesound wireless speakers for the surround channels but what I'm not finding is info on your front speaker setup. separate Left/Center/Right Speakers or something different? (Way overdue for an upgrade as I have the NAD T770 A/V receiver with S-Video.)
Nice compare and contrast review! I vote for more comparison reviews in the future. This one was great! May I ask; What is the name of the black bookshelf speaker to your left? I’ve seen it before… was hoping somebody already asked you !
@@dougschneider8243 Ahhhh! 👌🏽 I wondered why I did not see the Paradigm logo on the bottom! Do you like the smaller bookie? Or is the 100F a better performer?
It really comes down to the speakers' sensitivity. I don't know the Jern11 at all, but I know the LS50 and LS50 Meta. Both are only moderate sensitivity, so you definitely need some power behind them. The 80Wpc (8 ohms) that the C 700 can produce should easily be enough -- but it more comes down to how loud you want to play them. If typical volume levels, you should be fine. Also, take note that although the M10 V2 is rated for 20Wpc more, 20Wpc doesn't amount to much. To get a 3dB increase in volume, you need DOUBLE the power -- so you'd have to look at 160Wpc to noticeable an appreciable difference. That said, the M10 V2 is a little gutsier, so that could help. Still, the C 700 should satisfy most with KEF model you mention.
@@dougschneider8243 Do you think that the difference would be more audible with 4-ohm speakers? According to the measurements on Soundstage Network, the C700 can deliver 104 watts of continuous power into 4 ohms, whereas the NAD M10 v2 can deliver 232 watts of continuous power into 4 ohms.
Thanks for the review. Nothing said here convinced me that I did not make a great choice in going with the c700.

The real kicker here is the 4 ohm power ratings. C700 there's barely an increase in clipping power at 4. M10 V2 is nearly double at 4.

In times of wireless audio there’s no sense in walking to your amplifier to fiddle with its touchscreen.
As I said in another reply, I really like it.
@@dougschneider8243 Walking? No, sorry. That’s enough reason to buy it.
@@ChristianGoergen All the setup functions I found easier in the touchscreen -- and there are many of them.

Thanks for the review. For me it is pure about sound. NAD M10 V3 vs NAD C700 V2 do sound they same on the same volume?
@soundstagenetwork , what are the wattage differences between the two at 4ohms? Thank you.

Thanks to speaker, this is a comprehensive review for M10 v2 and C700. Easy to compare to two similar product.

It's not a bookshelf speaker -- it's the Paradigm Founder Series 100F. There is a 40B in the Founder Series however.

Thanks for convincing me to not get the M10.
We believe everyone will make individual choices on performance, features, and price.
Agree with @soundstagenetwork - everyone will make these choices. As mentioned in the video, our own James Hale would opt for the C 700.
How about the better sound? Better dac and amp section, surely that must be number 1. Oh, and surround processing…
Needs revisiting when the C700 v2 is available. Some of those reasons no longer relevant.
Great point!

I think touch screens in amp's is a no no. Why add finger prints? I would always use the app (iPhone) to control anyway. Touch screen adds no value...
The fingerprint problem isn't as bad as you'd think.
