- 'An Unseen World' is one of 5 films that won an Award at the International Forests Short Film Festival. The film weaves together camera trap footage taken on an Amazon Rainforest tributary located in the Madre de Dios region of Peru. It represents nature film making at its most raw and innovative - a stark drama of unfolding forest life as it happens. The film gives us a glimpse of the rich biodiversity of the region -- from patrolling pumas and hunting jaguars to curious anteaters. Explorer, writer and film maker, Paul Rosolie, was awarded at UNFF10 in Istanbul, Turkey on 10 April 2013.
The United Nations Forum on Forests Secretariat partnered with the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival to honor the creative efforts of film makers who capture dynamic and unique relationship between forests and the people who depend on them. This year's Film Festival was for short films of five minutes or less. 128 entries from 38 countries competed to win at the prestigious Festival.
Anyone here after watching Paul Rosolie on Lex Fridman?
yes! The level of awareness you must have of your own body and surroundings is intense.
Watched the whole 3 hour
Yep
Yep
I am indeed 😅
I can't be the only one who finds the sounds of the rainforest in this video so damn relaxing.
3:51 ahhh
Me too
Indeed, I am.
the animal in us.
its the best sound in the world
Paul Rosolie is a generational inspiration, we are lucky to have people like him
Yeah but he's not superman, he needs help!!
I saw him on Joe Rogan and immediately bought his book
the rainforest is lucky to have people like him!
Paul Rosolie deserves a pat on the back. And billions of dollars to protect this amazing, priceless forest.
If it wasn't for crazy brave people like this we wouldn't ever see stuff like this great video
Paul Rosolie on Joe Rogan was probably THE Finest, most interesting and perfectly descriptive soul taking podcast I've ever listened to. So inspiring ✨️ 🙌 ❤️ 💯
😂😂😂😂
100 % agree. He has an amazing way of describing his experiences. He's a good writer too
The guy based his "facts" on rumours lol
You’ve clearly never seen Alex Jones on JRE
Glizzy goblin
i’m absolutely obsessed with everything this man does. it’s astounding.
The amazing variety of beautiful animals in this one small spot, only goes to show how very lucky we are to live in such a glorious and beautiful place among the trillions of other worlds and stars out there
The greatest gift of my life was being introduced to the shipibo people of the Peruvian amazon. In 2019 I was invited to pursue their science and path of becoming a doctor of shipibo amazonian medicine. I have split my time between the jungle and my home throughout the years and every time I leave, my heart yearns to return. No matter how difficult the challenges that face me in the darkness of my mind and surroudnings, the love and the light shine so bright that it demolishes all fear. Bless the jungle and the mighty spirits of all the medicinal trees and plants and of course the Shipibo.
that dude is super casual about the fact he was almost eaten by a Jaguar...
Considering he came after 2 minutes, I'm gonna assume the Jaguar was already waiting there until the scary human went away...
@@OfficialFA exactly, i would never go there at night(he must have had a team)
This dude’s interview on lex fridman’s podcast was amazing. Really recommend!
No, he wasn't. This man is just able to stop and consider what the animals want of him..I would strongly consider watching his Lex Freedman interview where he explains jumping on the back of a 25m anaconda and the hunting habits of cats like the Jaguar, if you can see it it's not hunting you.
@@Jb001jb absolutely man
Amazing work, Paul!
The diversity of both animals and plants in this region are absolutely incredible!
We need to save our nature.
Don’t count on Brazil to do anything.
This helps me see just how much wildlife is truly out there in the jungle. We need to protect our forests and find alternative ways of to create and build infrastructure.
that gave me chills
Put on a sweater silly.
I’m here after the Lex podcast. This is unreal to see
this video is really comforting to watch..
Hola mor
Wow. Many thanks for the time you took to explore this area, set up cameras and then post it. Most of us will never be close to places like this that are so extraordinary.
Beautiful documentary!
Thank you.... That was wonderful!
This is seriously one of the coolest things I have ever seen
What a beautiful video. We got to visit Peru and it was an amazing experience.
Excellent. Best nature footage I’ve seen. Also, presented really well. Congratulations
Wow that was one amazing short video, great work! And so good to see that at least some areas of the Amazon haven't been completely wrecked and still are supporting life, as they were meant to. And that giant male Jaguar swaggering in just 2 minutes after he left, yikes!! No doubt the cat knew he was there but thankfully wasn't hungry enough otherwise that might have ended very differently. I've spent a lot of time in the Brasilian Amazon region of Amazonas and over the years have seen it degraded at a rapid rate so again, so nice to see this place still healthy, still wild!
This is such good work. What he says, how he says it. The video clips of diverse animals. The spot location. The narrative. I wish paul did this again.
Peru is a beautiful place, great video m8.
That is amazing… I had no idea they animals could be so compact in their habitat.
wow 4 weeks all those different animals on the one camera, that is amazing
Amazon rainforest is like a hidden world.
Read his book! Such a fascinating read about the jungles around the world and his deep knowledge and compassion of the forest
Fantastic images! Thanks for sharing.
Superb footage! Rainy sounds were a nice touch too.
Amazing. I plan to volunteer along the Amazon in Peru this winter and your video helps me see what wildlife if out there. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic. Well beyond my three day trip into the Peruvian Amazon. Loved you on Rogan.
Amazing. Thanks for posting
Amazing video. Would love to see more of these.
Thanks for sharing this incredible footage.
Lex Fridman and the algorithm brought me here.
So incredibly beautiful and wild ❤ I love the wildlife in Australia, but it’s nothing compared to this!
Saw this linked at Ace of Spades HQ...awesome video. Just wish it was longer!
Had fun watching your video. Just finished reading your book and it was more than I expected, We need more awareness, for the preservation of places like the Amazon. Keep it up
Whats is the name of his book?
The book is titled 'Mother of God'
Beautiful, long may this place live in secrecy💜🌷
Thank you, Reddit.

El oso hormiguero 😍
Madre de Dios river goes through my country as well, Bolivia, our forest are beautiful and we fight against fire and depredation every year, god bless people like you Paul
Absolutely beautiful
Here. Thanks again.
What an awesome insight to animals kingdom..
I'd love to go on one of his trips into the forest. Just have to convince the mrs that she will enjoy it more than wherever she wants to go. I'm close, very close. The new tree house he has made has her nearly there. It will be a dream come true.
What a fascinating video!
Excellent…thanks ! 👍🏼
Do you think a jaguar could break a tapir's neck if it pounced from a tree limb? This video is seriously gold for species identification! Thanks Paul.
Hopefully you succeed in your mission Paul .
I love Pauls work.
What a diverse and beautiful Garden of Eden!
That's so incredible. Humans don't even come close....
Yeah we do. That guy actually got to the drinking spot two minutes before that giant cat! More like the cat was close, but no cigar.
What about a human from 100k years ago?
Slamz Dunk they were incredible. I heard they used to fly to their own drinking holes.
Incredible jaguar footage!
This is strangely comforting. What with the rain sound and all.
The jaguars were beautiful!
Looks like a great place for hunting, I will definitely visit.
what he didn't say is that a BDB roams the jungle u better be careful
b8 harder m8
SomeoneKillMePlez I will sit in a helicopter pouring toxic gas so I'll be fine.
😂😂😂
This is incredible
Thank you.Its a great joy and greater burden for people like me who have figured out the reality of our planet. These are majestic alien beings far more valuable than our cars and gold.
good to see places still untouched by man
Incredible footage
This is goals man, been my dream to trek through the Amazon and do something like this since I was 4. Amazing footage bro👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Have you made your way there yet?
Did you do it?
Better hurry.
The uncontacted tribes stuck a spear on him

AMAZING Paul simply AMAZING 😮
One of my favorite animal videos
wow this is so cool this is exactly what I want to do when I get older!
Thanks for the amazing camera work and effort to protect the jungle! On a practical level what can the average person do to protect the rainforest from being destroyed?
Nice Work, Paul.
0:21 You can see a major road about 30 miles away from here. Google maps show a lodge about 5 miles to the west and some remote farms about 7 miles to the east with a dirt road along with areas of either logging or past farming clearings.
This shall be the only war we all must engage with. One planet - one race - one aim
Pure nature.
Great video, can’t shake the idea that foreigners will now flood the area. Aside from that it was great footage and amazing place
What do you mean by that?
Wow theres like infinite ammount of animals exchanging spots this is crazy i love it
Thanks so much for sharing
sad that assholes feel the need to hunt and kill animals like these just for game, however, even worse is the deforestation. :(
yea, in a lot of ways humans are jerks to the rest of the planet
Bleezy D. yea, its just greed :(
Go vegan then
minecraftlover27 is that mcl from bauscraft? or am i mistake?
Actually we're growing forests faster than ever before. But I get you on the animal part.
Can't tell why you would dislike this video
I really respect this man
My goodness that's beautiful
Awesome is all I can say.
Sharing, Justice and Peace for all will help Save Our Planet.
To bad this video will be all thats left of these magnificant animals. Humans can be rather overwhelming to say the least Thanks for this excellent video 😊
This guy is amazing
Great video.
Its great to know that someone had the balls to do something I can only dream about. Not only Amazon but other parts of world should be saved. Yet money might not allow it, because profit is today way more important, than life.
its super easy to protect, if you have the money you just buy the part of a forest as your own land and do nothing to it, some millionaires and billionaires have done this and its not superexpensive (for their poket)
Thanks for sharing
Great job....
God's masterpiece
we need to protect
our nature worldwide
Great video
Just wow!
Wow. Just wow.
