- From dawn to dusk, entire pond was dug up with our rented Kubota BX25D. Task for people with thigh schedules.Seemed like mission impossible at the start, but was accomplished successfully. Hope you benefit from our experience. This is part 2 of entire documentary. Enjoy.

The part where operator puts his head in his hand at the women showing the other young man how to move dirt was hilarious! Especially when he took over and relieved both women from duty. Wait a moment? I guess their pretty smart at manipulation! Lol!!

That looks like a super fun project but I don't think I'd move the wheel barrel after every bucket full haha

Pro tip...the parking brake can be released when moving the tractor.
Rents tractor with ab backhoe and front loader. Digs hole with wheelbarrow and pick ax. Strong hard working lads there. Nice pond.

Nice little Koi pond. I'm wanting to do a 4 acre about 15' deep. Guess I should get a bigger machine. Like a CAT D8 track loader!

@@randywilson6869 Well yeah! I can also do it w/a shovel and wheel barrow in about 20 years. It will be a great little pond when I'm 95! LOL Thanks. I will do some preliminary work w/a big wheeled loader I have now, like digging stumps out. But I'll hire a tracked machine when the pond is built.

I loved her very much, but a few month ago she got several required and some of the recommended vaccinations, never felt good afterwards and in a few months my dearest Diamond died with several big tumors on her breasts. I might add that I fed her premium dog food, that is soy based. Very unfortunate to learn the hard way, but the vaccines are required for dogs. Makes you think, doesn't it?

No, it is not possible with this one.
@@saintmaxmedia2423 Actually it would be very possible. All you need is time and the skill to do so. The kid using this machine is very inefficient on it.

Jerome Gardner, it took us one day, and the second day to finish up. It was intense though.
Shouldn't the lady be the one operating the tractor? LOL
C.R. against your stereotypes we choose who is doing what based on who has the best skill to do it. Operating this machine is actually very dangerous and you need to have a skill to do it. We chose the operator not based on gender but who is the best for the job. Obviously you know very little about digging a pond. LOL
@@saintmaxmedia2423 I didn't mean any offense. I own the larger version of that backhoe and tractor, and if there's a project where one of us needs to operate the backhoe and one needs to wheelbarrow, my wife operates the backhoe. I'm old fashioned I guess.
Isn't it stereotyping to assume a woman can't operate a backhoe? We're both guilty of it I guess. Though I'm not saying a woman shouldn't or can't wheelbarrow. Just that I would volunteer to do it. No offense meant to anyone!
You guys did a great job on the pond, I enjoyed your videos on it.
I appreciate your response. The reason my son operated the backhoe is that the ground here is somewhat soft and we needed a deep hole, so the hoe had to go deep, right next to the machine, which creates a risk that it could slide. One thing that helped us, was that there was a lot of roots in that area, which stabilized the soil. He took the riskiest job and worked almost 14 hours non-stop. We took turns. :)

Charles Riley and I r from old school. the kind of people that will open the door and let the person behind us in.(I always say when there half way in heck there might b gun shots so go ahead) it gets a lot of laughs but I was taught to b curtesy and yes I don’t like seeing a lady work harder than me
Umm where is the pond? You need water for it to be a pond. Looks like you dug a hole to put in a swimming pool

Hello ron98821, we were not able to use the front loader due to: 1. too many roots and 2. it would not dig 6 feet deep hole as we wanted. We needed to have well defined edges, as there is no reinforcement to keep them in place. And lastly we have been doing it for the first time ever. Feedback from more experienced people is greatly appreciated and others can benefit from it. But certain courtesy is necessary in all human interactions. I think it is easy to forget about it when we enter a comment and no one knows who we are. Thank you for watching.

They weren't suggesting to use the loader to dig, they were saying you could have used the backhoe to make a big pile of dirt on the surface out at the max swing of your arm, and then when the pond was done you could use the front loader to move the pile of dirt. No wheelbarrow work breaking your back. It also looks like you could have used the backhoe from where the dog was sitting with the backhoe parallel to the pond, and swung left to dig the pond and swung right to dump the dirt in the woods. Hindsight is 20/20 and all that jazz. Good job on the pond.

Yes, I totally agree with you, using heavy duty equipment involves some risk and we have to exercise caution and educate ourselves on how to use it in the best and in the safest way. Our experience was very positive and at no point we felt like there was any danger. One thing to consider though is the possibility of the ground collapsing under the weight of the machine. We were lucky, because there were so many roots in that area. If you have sandy soil and no roots, that can be dangerous. Always use common sense and good judgement. And pray to your Guardian Angel for protection. :) Eva
