When I ran O3 for a bit at the end of 2022, I found it really needed processing. I used both AI frame interpolation AND upscaling to make the footage usable. I used open source methods. Which I’m sure have advanced significantly nowadays with all the development the past year or so. Never found the need to do it on my analog and stuff but I am now excited to see how the software has changed and what is possible. I also have a few builds that record onboard DVR straight from the analog camera prior to transmission… which itself looks pretty decent… and with some upscale it would probably be quite good. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration. Happy flying.
Very true ! 03 quality can even be buffed up a bit - what I saw was mostly the denoising of darker areas which tends to happen a lot on 03. Except the rendering took a veryyyy long time.. At least for now But always fun to experiment and with how fast AI is moving, the future is very exciting - thanks for stopping by!
This was great Moe, I've tried previous iterations and it was hit or miss. I think this newer is just fantastic. But I'm gonna sound like the choir about it being expensive. But than again, if you're a youtuber and fly analog, this is a must have if you got the cash. The quality improvement can't be understated.
Thanks Porto! And yes, the price is really a major deterrent. There still may be better/cheaper options out there and hopefully as the tech progresses it gets cheaper and cheaper.
Jakee - I did put some footage through with the OSD elements on and noticed no real effect on quality. Those OSD elements just end up looking more CRISPY but the footage as a whole is not affected. If I'm understanding this question correctly, that is..
super dope! i know you said it in the video, but yeah, not gonna be for everybody... especially for analog pilots who are already on a budget lol but its really cool that this opens up a new doorway for people to get extra crispy video if they wanna pay for it. thanks for sharing this dood!
its cool and has its place for certain things for sure. But i prefer seeing what the pilot sees, choppiness, noise and all. It adds to the coolness imo. at least for freestyle stuff 🤔
One of the best parts of the video what is the steel frame of the dogs going nuts over the world. That was absolutely hilarious. I love teasing by dogs with the whoops too. Lol You’re by far one of the best whoop pilots I’ve ever seen. Subbed. Do you have a particular toothpick that you would recommend? Something similar to a GEPRC phantom?
Thank you very much ! My favorite toothpicks for all around flying would be the babytooth from fpv cycle. 2s is my favorite but also fun on 1s. But you have to build those. For a bananas toothpick checkout the twig xl from beta fpv. 4s and insane power
Great Video, for Walksnail video, just revisiting this stuff as looking for something for after Gyroflow processing to get the video to the next level with AI colour, upscaling etc, Can't use Topaz as I am running Linux, but only Yesterday started to look at Capcut again, all I can say is wow with what I have just seen, early days, and a lot of AI functions and super easy to use, will know more in the next few days 🤓
I also like to push my walksnail footage through gyroflow first for the lens correction - then I will upscale and end with color grading in daVinci. The final product is quite impressive to me! I hope we see more programs surface in the coming months to support more systems
Would like to see this in comparison to davinci resolve pro and its upscaling and noise reduction. I would much rather get resolve for the $300 if it compares even if it took a little more effort
Super interesting/very impressive software. However at $300, unless whoops were my main thing, I'd rather invest that $ in another GoPro for one of my larger quads. Great video!
Very steep price to pay, unfortunately - very cool for micros but yes a lot less necessary for larger quads. hopefully as the tech continues to improve and grow we will have more cheaper options to choose from. Thanks for stopping by!
Very interesting content like always Moe! For sure 300 dollars may be a trade off for a lot of prople but maybe there will be some new free program which will give us some free credits to try it. I hope 😅
I tried this with the upscalers for stable diffusion and there was just more noise on analog but what model are these guys using ? there has to be open source alt $300 is insane
There are a few different models but the main one i found myself using was called 'Prometheus' I believe. And I'm sure there are definitely some alternatives out there - maybe cheaper/better, but this was the one i stumbled upon that did the job well enough for me
Right now the price for proper upscalers are still a bit steep - i have no doubt these prices will fall as the tech continues to advance - excited for the future!
$300 is cheap AF in this hobby I build drones costing over $500 and I live on disability. When analog looks as good as digital I'll go back to analog but I've been flying DJI V1 & V2 since 2019 and my while fleet is stuck on this until I switch to WS. Keeping it at my budget to enjoy this hobby at it's max.
Very true, everything seems to be quite expensive! Analog still rules the whoops but harder to justify on the larger quads when you can have that beautiful digital image. Hoping things get cheaper but I fear it will forever be going the other way .. thanks for stopping by
And here we are, another promotional video... I tried topaz a few months ago and it does not fix footage at all. If you upload analog you will get slightly better analog, but differences are noticeable only in comparison with original video
Not sure if you actually watched the video but I run through a live upscale of analog DVR in Topaz and show the results real time. Further, I’m in no way tied to this program, monetarily or otherwise, as I mention at least twice, so I have nothing to gain here. If the program doesn’t do enough for you to justify using it that is completely understandable - but I very much like the upscaling it does. Also, of course you can only notice a difference when comparing it to the original video - otherwise there would be no “differences” to notice 🤣
@MoeFPV I briefly watched it, so yeah, I might skip some parts. But anyway, it doesn't fix fast-paced freestyle footage with a lot motion blur, no matter how good you tell about it in live session. And nobody cares how good a few first frames are or a few ones in the middle. It just not worth it. If a goal is good quality footage, it's better to buy good camera or use walksnail, o3, gopro or even runcam thumb will be much better than trying to fix bad analog with motion blur.
@@wKich This is not meant to replace an action cam or an 03. I mention it’s usefulness in smaller quads, specifically 1s 2s whoops and micros, platforms we cannot fit DJI into let alone a use action cam with. While we can’t expect miracles, I think the work being done by the upscaler is natural and extremely noticeable on all video systems. The first time I used it I was blown away by the results and just wanted to share that with everyone.
Very interesting content like always Moe! For sure 300 dollars may be a trade off for a lot of prople but maybe there will be some new free program which will give us some free credits to try it. I hope 😅
Thank you Baffo ! 300 is definitely steep - there might be some cheaper programs out there that still do a good job , this is just the first that I found. Hopefully as tech continues to improve things will get even more affordable
wow, that's awesome. thanks for sharing! also that trippy spin inside that house going right to that gate on the floor... sick.
much appreciated!

what've u been using for upscaling?
Man that would upgrade the analog clips quite a alot :O
I was very impressed ! Absolutely love the look of the analog

Awesome video Moe, thanks for sharing the info!!
If I pick this program up I’ll also be swapping my shoes to Velcro, no more interlacing for me ✊🏻
Oh wow, I didn’t expect these results. But man… like you said $ 300,- is a lot of money for most people. Anyway, nice experiment👍
Great vid moe! did you happen to mess with osd elements how well does the ai upscale handle a dvr recording with osd overlayed?
Great question 👍🤝

Was waiting for someone to upscale hdzero or analog :)
Sweet dude, this looks awesome! I'm gonna try this on my DJI whoop ASAP 🌵🌵
Thanks Swan! MODULE on the way this weekend... I didnt forget. Recovering from the BIG BAD C ....
super dope!

Hopefully some cheaper options on the horizon as the tech continues to mature - Thanks Dingz!
Micro Moe does it again! Sick video
Awesome video man, thanks for the insight!

I agree and I like the raw look of raw analog most times, too - Just nice to know there's a way to spice up a bit when needed!
@MoeFPV totally! I agree and I think it's cool you made a video showcasing this interesting technology 💯
I watched this on my phone and was sooo confused. Now I'm on a PC with a decent monitor and it all makes sense xD
LOL its subtle but definitely there!
Wow. Love it!

walksnail 4k moonlight kit with that is gonna be crazy
Same with 03 - cleans up footage very well. Closer to GoPro quality 👀

best trippy spin?
Great video man thanks 🏆🏆🏆🍻

Dude! Great video moe foe! 🤘
Thanks Bitterroot!
Wow thats really impressive for analog! What analog camera are you running in the beginning? It looks really good.
Thanks Tux! The analog cam was the full size ANT - also recorded on the HDZ goggles which does help a bit on the quality of the DVR file
Nice. I have the pico razer and skyzone 04x which can do 60 fps. I will give it a try.
@@TuxedoFPV awesome man - let me know how it works out
Wauw......thats amazing how much better that gets!!! iam gonna try that, Hey i see the new mobula6 in the background.....did you already fly it?
Definitely download a trial first to see if you like the results and keep in mind this program is pricey!
Also mob 6 video coming very soon! 😁
Will definitely try the trial first..... Because it's pricy 😂.....
Nice! Can't wait for that video!@@MoeFPV
I keep going back to the idea of spending that insane 300€. However, I'm a little sad it only removes motion blur and not add it, or am I mistaken?
What analog camera and vtx are you using?
Analog is the 2g4 board 5-1 from happy model and the caddx ant cam
Good one Moe!

I crack it on my mac and this software is fucking awesome to improve my hdz dvr ❤
Moe flies with camera cap ON!
No wonder why my video feed is always blurry!
@@MoeFPV could have saved $300 😂
Wow
We’re can I get the ducks
What ducks?? 🦆🦆
Yet another reason to stay on analog. Cant bring myself to leave it for the price and reliability/availability
damn, did it just get moist in here?
That's it, time to sell my GoPros before the used market tanks...
I think you're safe for now🤣
Ngl, At 4:05 i thought you were going to just keep piling up drones on yourself and act like nothing was happening.
🤣🤣 last few min just a big ol pile of drones on screen
fsr3 dlss for fpv😂
well, now you can walk naked to your mailbox all you like. you can just say they are looking at AI rendering. even as you are tossed into the cop car

Just train the AI to copy your flying style so i can use it to fly like you.
nah, this is mediocre, worth doing if you wanna share your footage, but not good enough for anything serious. AI can do better than this
