This is actually one of my favorite dlcs. In reguards to protecting coastal cities from tsunamis (would be your main threat) I recommend building power plants further inland and higher up if possible. Losing electricity is really really bad for recovery. The issue with the dlc is that there is no automatic way to restore roads, buildings, scenery and terrain when the terrain is removed from some disasters. It's not really fun when you manually rebuild what was lost (rip detailing and complex builds) . I think a slow auto rebuild policy option would be good.
I use pretty much all of the buildings from the dlc except shelters...mostly for aesthetic purposes and land value. The disaster response building is my favorite, and useful for rebuilding park buildings. I use earthquake sensors when I dont want powerlines in certain areas but need to connect to the grid. I do try to make use of the dlc, but I don't turn disasters on.
Also you can check the disaster impact area expectations after you build their required buildings. Once a disaster is predicted you can click the disaster in that disaster alert bar.
Something you could implement for the road that you brought into the downtown that breaks up the pedestrian road is to sink the car road and then have the pedestrian road be a bridge over the car road. There are a number of cities that have done this, such as Dallas, TX and it works out quite nice!
Love your commentary on this stuff. I'm pretty horrible at Cities: Skylines but it's cool to chill out and watch these videos. Gotta say, this DLC looks like my worst nightmare. I feel like after spending all that time building my city up and doing all this problem solving and decorating and all that, random disasters wiping everything out on a whim would just frustrate me. Feels like it completely ruins the flow of city building.
Seeing you're at 62K population, did the city had any traffic issues during the build up that you had to fix? And if so did you fix it outside the recording? There are some other beginners guides out there that I tried to follow and they always get traffic issues around 17-20K pop on my end, but it never gets showed in their video's how they fixed it. And traffic issues are the main reason I always stop playing this game.
I show most if not all of my traffic fixes. There are a few that I do off camera but I still go over them a bit. The hard part is that most viewers find traffic related issues boring so most creators just hide them.

This would be a nice feature. I wish they had more protection measures for the cities as well. Maybe levies or something along those lines
I like putting the fire helicopters near sewage. That way they dump poo water on everything. Police copters look cool near jails as well
They should have utilized the emergency service helicopter with P&P with its new police, fire and hospital buildings

I do the same. Though I generally don't play with powerlines anymore
The only dlc I didn't get because I knew I'd never use it - although it would be nice to have the police and fire helicopters.
The helicopters are the best part
I’m a fan of the pumping building and water storage. They really do help complete a water utility build. Hope you have a awesome 2023 Zilla! 🎉
Thanks joy! I hope you have a good 2023 as well!

I didn't even think about that. That's one of my favorite parts about downtown Dallas. Thanks for the suggestion!
I absolutely hate this DLC. I like the unique buildings that comes with the DLC but the disasters...oh man!! Such a pain!!

Yeah, I usually don't play with disasters on because of this. It can be tiring to rebuild all the time
I don't have natural disasters on. But I like using the radio mast as a WiFi tower
The radio mast is nice to have
The flood wall can only be placed on land. If you wanted wholesale destruction use a tidalwave. Also if a disaster hits a shelter it will destroy it.
Yeah, you have to do a sandbar in or do build them on water
Great video 👊🏼
Hello CityZilla. Have you got a link to purchase discounted DLC? I thought I had seen it popup in your videos.. but can't find it now.
Thanks for the support! Here you go:

@@CityZilla Thanks!
One more question my friend. Can you list all the DLC in use by the end of this Beginner tutorial series?
Don't you have to create evacuation routes for the buses to pick people up and take them into the bunkers? I recall that was a thing..
They still work without them. The busses tend to get clogged if you use the big shelter s
Do you have plans to continue with your trenched highway? Which isn't connected to anything but looks cool.
I hope to one day. Probably when we surpass the 9 time limitations with 81 tiles
Damn, can’t believe you have 22k subs! Last time i was here you had under 10k haha! Good job
It's been a crazy year for sure! Thanks for coming back!

A zoo would be nice also
You should do an international airport next using the airport dlc.
love the episode and city, what mod do you use to make the city look good?
I use a mod called theme mixer 2
@@CityZilla cool, thanks for the info :)
hi first

I will 😀
Are you going to build an airport in this city?
I'm working on one now 😀
Скачай мод на добавление клеток и строй этот город дальше
We will when we run out of tiles
👍
hi second
Great video 👊🏼
