+Disneyfan82 Actually that scene is in the movie, but while unseen, we very much know that it did happen. Don't think for one minute that these deleted scenes, though unseen, never happened!
This movie hits home to me every time. Around the time this movie came out, my parents divorced and it still takes a toll on my sister and me even though we are 27 and 29 years old. Lydia and Daniel just made me bawl!!!!!!!!!!!
See, the deleted scenes missed out on a lot. Daniel did have a point about the cartoon and the smoking, and poising kid's minds, and Mrs. Doubtfire's show, showed how caring Daniel/Mrs. Doubtfire was towards kids. This is hilarious!! 😂😂😂
I remeber seeing this and more of his films and wondering where he was now? (I didn't know he had passed) so I reaserched and cried for hours after I found out, lucky my parents wheren't there.

Robin was off the charts. Playing a drunk guy, in drag as Mrs doubtfire then a cajun chef right back to a drunk guy in drag then a solid Mrs doubtfire. Woweee

Actually the rest of the formula wouldn't have been so bad. A lot of flowers like acidic soil, and tea and coffee can achieve that. The dog urine can burn plants so that's definitely a bad idea.. and... the flat stems is completely made up, her flowers were perfectly fine 😅😂🤣

The washing machine part reminds me of Uncle Buck, when he tries to get the washer to work but he can't, so he starts swearing at it. RIP John Candy and Robin Williams
The scene after the dinner disaster would have been great left in the movie. It shows a lot of emotion from all sides and would have been great leading up to the happy ending where the kids are expecting a new babysitter and it ends up being their dad.
I loved this movie but honestly I never knew that there were deleted scenes Robin Williams was one of my favourite actors and this movie was just brilliant RIP Robin Williams you will be missed and nobody can ever live up to your acting
Robin Williams had a mentor whom I remember, named Jonathan Williams. Williams had the same zany mind flashing from one character to another. He would monologue 3 or 4 characters at high speed. Both men suffered from depression and substance abuse trying to get the mind characters to give them a few moments of peace with the central character that they tried to be. I miss both of them.
I understand what you're saying. But they could still do one, on some special, or like Good Morning America. They recap about Robin & the Movie. i think it would be cool, if they did it right.
I feel like they would've made Daniel a much less sympathetic character. And the other scenes, although they were funny and character building, didn't move the plot forward.
I think, as you say, that some of these scenes detracted from the story they were telling. Still, the actor playing the neighbor lady must have felt bad to have most of her part on the cutting room floor. Much like the actor who played Celeborn in The Lord of the Rings. Now whenever I see a role where most of the actor's lines got deleted, I say "s/he got Celeborned!"
Well now that I’ve seen these deleted scenes for the first time ever after all these years, this movie is quite a bit deeper and a lot more sad than I remember. Daniel’s heart was in the right place. We miss you, Robin.
@@MichaelSeaBelA *Sweing machine gets stuck* Michael Hatt: AAAAHHHHHHH BEGONE DEMON!!!!! Co Workers: Is she nuts or something, she hasn't clicked the "start button" Co Worker: She is refrencing the deleted Mrs. Doubtfire scene Michael Hatt: Ah I see you are a man of culture
One of the funniest lines of all time. By the way, J. Edgar Hoover was known for dressing as a woman, although that wasn't more commonly known until after his death.
Kevin Lebby--Actually, is "Mrs. Hilliard" who is equally at fault here. Having a loud, public spat with a spouse is considered boorish and ill-mannered. She should have shut her mouth until their differences could be resolved in the privacy of their own home. That doesn't let "Ms Gloria" off the hook, though. Good manners dictates that, when overhearing a public scene between a couple (or anyone else), when there is no threat to either party (such as physical abuse or using a weapon), one quietly and unobtrusively vacates the area. Both these women have no sense of the fitness of things. "Mr. Hilliard", also at fault, should have either told his spouse that the street wasn't the appropriate place for the argument and given her the choice of cleaning up the property or going inside to air their differences. But then, that wouldn't have made for good theater, would it?
I like the scene where Daniel is doing laundry. Good thing he thought fast when answered the phone. Or else he would’ve given himself away. Mrs. Doubtfire: Mrs. Hilliard does not want you here. Now are you going to go or am I gonna have to call the police? Daniel: I’m going. I’m sorry. Mrs. Doubtfire: You should be. Now get out of here, you poor sad bastard! LMAO!!!!
As funny as that scene is I think it could ruin the film Daniel would later explain to Miranda what he was doing in the house and if Miranda wants to take it to court than Mrs Doughtfire and Daniel will be in court
The last deleted scene would have been hard to watch, proving how divorce really ruins the kids, even when they do nothing but fight when their kids are at home, as if they forget that they're listening.
They should have kept the spelling bee scene. It really shows the dynamic of the family well and how deeply affected Lydia is by the divorce and how devoted a father Daniel is They also should have kept the scene right after the dinner when they discover him
I don't think the last part should have been in the film. In their anger it makes it look like miranda and daniel are competing for the childrens' love but in reality, they just wanted what's best for their children, not fight for love.
@@shutterbug_713 i agree. they did a similar thing with the YOU RIPPED MY HEART OUT BEFORE YOU WANNA DO IT AGAIN? scene after the court date and Miranda whined about his behavior at the restaurant and the judge took her side and ordered supervised visitation. ridiculous. but the reason why THIS scene was deleted and tweaked was because they are further exposing the children to this kind of violence and now no one will get custody. that was not the road this movie was going to take. all they needed was lydia or Chris or even little Natalie! not the path this movie was supposed to take.
I feel like the dance scene was important. It showed what kind of home life the family could have had if Daniel had been more responsible and stepped up more (like he does when he's Mrs Doubtfire), freeing Miranda up to have a bit more fun and not always having to be the strict one.
Yes, every scene showed a *different* way in which the family's home life could have been better if Daniel had stepped up more. this specifc one showed the fun side to Miranda.
"That's not a woman, that's J. Edgar Hoover in drag." I love the ironic foreshadowing of that line. It should have stayed in the movie. As a matter of fact I think most of these scenes should have stayed. All but the ones with the neighbor lady and her flowers, they dragged on too long IMO.
They actually could have kept part of Gloria's subplot with some minor editing. Fans of the theatrical version would've liked seeing Daniel get revenge on his nosy neighbor.
My American mom thinks J. Edgar Hoover was one of the US presidents! I told her, "Silly Mama Jane! That was Herbert C. Hoover!". I wonder if the two had some form of relationship somewhere down the line.
I thought the first scene accomplished a lot as far as explaining the problems between Miranda and Daniel, and why she felt their marriage wasn't working.

Robin Williams is deeply missed. Mrs. Doubtfire was one of his best movies. Its become a classic. A sequel would have been epic. Williams was a legendary comedian. RIP, sir.
The fact that the sequel of Mrs. Doubtfire was actually about to start filming but…well Robin died before it could’ve been recorded 😔
I would’ve loved a sequel too honestly
The way I see it, Miranda and Daniel BOTH represent the refusal to accept reality. Daniel represents the refusal to accept responsibility and maturity, while Miranda represents the refusal to accept the real effects on divorce on the children.
Then again if Daniel accepted that responsibility and maturity we would have another Randy Pitchford.

Director Chris Columbus always said he had enough material left over to make another version of Mrs Doubtfire! This 30 - 40 minutes proves it. I say send him back into the editing bay and let him put together Mrs. Doubtfire 2.0 I know I'd fork over twenty bucks for that DVD...especially if the material that ended up on the cutting room floor was as good as this.

The Today Show just did one with the 3 kids and Pierce Brosnan. It was very nostalgic, miss Robin 😥
The editor did a terrific job. These scenes would have detracted from the end product. Poor neighbor got cut big time.
Yeah I wondered why she got such a high billing but I guess the reason being that her role was upposed to be much larger.
I feel like they would've made Daniel a much less sympathetic character. And the other scenes, although they were funny and character building, didn't move the plot forward.
@ garrison282 - But to be fair, Gloria was slandering Daniel (4:44). So she got what she deserved with her dead "babies," lol!

Thats not a little old lady, thats J Edgar Hoover in drag
johnson11b Fuck Gloria.

When parents fight, the main problem and main side effects could be your kids. Damaged them psychological
The last deleted scene would have been hard to watch, proving how divorce really ruins the kids, even when they do nothing but fight when their kids are at home, as if they forget that they're listening.
@@Disneyfan82 correct on everything

so true.
They should have kept the spelling bee scene. It really shows the dynamic of the family well and how deeply affected Lydia is by the divorce and how devoted a father Daniel is
They also should have kept the scene right after the dinner when they discover him
I don't think the last part should have been in the film. In their anger it makes it look like miranda and daniel are competing for the childrens' love
but in reality, they just wanted what's best for their children, not fight for love.
@@jugemujugemugokonosurikire4735, it DOES! Isn't it obvious why it was deleted?

I miss Robin Williams so much. His movies were always a good laugh.
I feel like the dance scene was important. It showed what kind of home life the family could have had if Daniel had been more responsible and stepped up more (like he does when he's Mrs Doubtfire), freeing Miranda up to have a bit more fun and not always having to be the strict one.
Completely true (did i ever say it wasn't?) but none of that remotely invalidates my point.
SummerBayJournal is that not what every scene with Mrs.Doubtfire around the house showed.
Yes, every scene showed a *different* way in which the family's home life could have been better if Daniel had stepped up more. this specifc one showed the fun side to Miranda.
