That actually looks like a fun way to spend a weekend or two.. the only problem I have is it would take two weeks to get to any place that had gold and I would spend a thousand dollars to maybe find A hundred dollars worth of gold... maybe ... but it’s fun watching you guy do it.

I saw several 2.5 cubic yard buckets of very high grade gold that I was mucking with a remote diesel powered scoop tram (front-end mining loader) about 4 years ago in Timmins ON, the most Gold that I ever saw in one place at one time in 43 years of underground mining! And that is a FACT!

Got a dream mat myself, it's very good for the fine stuff.
The water is too fast, slow it down, maybe just a bit less flow, then you'll be good. look at some you tube video's about setting up a highbanker. I got a lot of good info that way!! Cheers

There are approximately 202 five gallon buckets to a cubic yard of material... your buckets are 3/4 full... 6 x .75 = 4.5 bucket per your 300# of material. You cleanout looks great! With a snuffer bottle, or a wheel, (guessing) you have 3 grams or more of gold in that pan. There are 31.105 grams per Troy oz. $2,000/31.105x3=$193 in that pan.
All dependent on the pay streak, I think it’s a rich bar of gravel... with proper equipment, it could pay quite well.

Classify with a smaller classifier if your golds small because the bigger pebbles can clog up your holding cells in the dream mat also find the richer gold lines to produce the most amounts.test with a magnet to find where the most black sand is and test pan those spots until you find a good pay streak.Child labor😂

Water flow needs to be adjusted abit slower. If you make your run tilt steep you need to attach another run with carpet matting or rubber ribs If you are finding gold at the end of the run it's tilted to high Gold is found where u find it but Its at all levels in the ground remember the river bank changes every year and more gravels and material travels an covers older gold deposits as years progress. Maybe a rotating wheel sluice can pick up gold quicker and separate the black sand from the gold

  • @NorthPineOutdoors
    @NorthPineOutdoors 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Jeff in my opinion best gold recovery comes from greatest surface area of sluice mat, this year I tripled my gold recovery from using an 8 foot long sluice and switched back to miners moss and expanded metal, it’s a lot of cons to deal with but if you get a cleanup sluice with gold hog washer mat it will burn through the cleanup in no time with 98% recovery. Maybe try your sluice with one or two extensions with a possible flare and experiment with miners moss and expanded metal or gold hog mats and guarantee you’ll recover 2x more, cheers

Really, I was saying to slow it down a bit and get a finer matt. Most of the gold I have found close to the house was all fine too but when I went several miles away we had a few hot spots that had a lot of clinkers. Clinkers are big enough to go clink when you drop it in the bottle!.
In our small town we used to have a couple of shops that only sold items for panning and mining, we could sell our gold there too. All of those places are now gone as panning as a hobby is no longer popular? I still have my small bottle of gold from days gone by.
Loved the excitement I heard from the girls!! Ours did the same thing!

Hello there Gridlessness. You are doing a good job getting out into it in your lives; To reduce loss / and increase your take... ( I have lived from gold mining (dredging) a large New Zealand river for about seven years. Before that I simply roamed the hills working high country rivers with a pan and shovel living in my tent.) Note: Stay away from rivers if you cannot swim and cannot negotiate rapids / survive a dunking. I found some of my best spots {thousands of dollars when the price was $40NZ a gram } while scrambling down rivers over rocks and swimming deep pools always being able to self rescue. I don't think you guys can dredge in BC so I think the trick is to look for old river channels and really get stuck in high banking.
    1. Use spaghetti matting as your base.
    2. Cover that with wire netting that has been folded many times and squashed flat
    3. Secure it all with a screw and large washer with a wing nut from underneath.
    4. Experiment with raising and lowering your sluice
    5. Experiment with water flow. ( It looks too fast in the video)
    6. Experiment with the speed of loading the sluice.
    7. Once you have your concentrates you should (in my opinion) take them home to work on, on cold rainy days inside. This is what I do and it works a treat. Some friends of have spent lots of money on all sorts of fancy systems because they have little patience to work the concentrates.
    7. In your present family system everyone gets the same (food, lodging, love, etc.) no matter how hard they work or how innovative they are. It is very much a communist system and works as long as everyone works exactly the same. In New Zealand Countless useless people get to eat, are housed, have smart phones, etc and never do a days work. Hard working smart people get taxed and beat-up (metaphorically) for making an effort.
    8. Perhaps you could ask your girls if any of them want to earn their own money (not shared) and set them up with gear and prospect for your / their own claim or ask Dan Hurd to help with this.

Too much water Slick. Start with a wide open valve, run two buckets, test your tailings. Gold in the tailings, back 1/8 turn on the input, two more buckets, test tailings again. Still gold, back another 1/8. Keep adjusting till you tailings are clean, run 10 buckets then test the tailings again. If they are still clean start moving material. The starting adjustments are absolutely critical to effective high banker adjustment. I can not stress that enough. The machine can only be as good as the operator and it will take experience for you to get good at it. Haveing a magnetic protractor to adjust bed angle is a good suggestion. Your tilt should be right at about 11 degrees for the average high banker. Much more than that and your fine gold ends up in your tailings. Gold is heavey but volume overcomes mass if you are pushing too much water. I don't use matts. All my systems are based on suspension principles rather than sluice action. The gold I deal with in Arizona is fine, flour gold that does not take much fluid to blow it through a sluice.

Great job guys! I just thought i would mention, maybe try a little less water mate, i believe you want it slow enough to allow heavies to fall out of flow, but fast enough to keep the riffles exchanging material. I have an 8inch dream mat and im still learning, but it does look like alot of water is running over your mat 🙂👍
