That was a really nice shot on a really nice deer congrats brother! This is exactly why I do not shoot mechanical broadheads. Even with my 65lbs and 29" draw that would have been a total passthrough and plenty of blood to follow. I almost lost a deer just like that shot because of the old rage broadheads because I had zero blood to follow.
Thanks! Appreciate the comment! I’ve had the same experience with fixed blade but definitely think a fixed blade would have done better in this shot scenario!
@@georgiapublicproject5578 I don't think you could have put a better shot on that deer. You did your part with the bow for sure. My setup might not have stuck in the ground but it would have completely came through that offside leg. I just shot a buck last weekend quartering to me. Arrow entered 3/4 up the body just in front of the near side leg. Exited just in front of the diaphragm where the fur transitions to white. Got both lungs and the top of the heart. That broadhead had to go through the thick chest bones, all the organs, and then out the ribs on the exit. It was sticking in the ground a little and when the deer ran it flipped the arrow up and into a bush. 2 blade 150gr Cutthroat single bevel with a total arrow weight of 560gr 65lb draw 29" length. Broadhead took a few strops then it was razor sharp again and right back in the quiver. That exit hole is far more important than the entrance and after 30+ years of archery I don't care what brand it is so long as you get it super sharp and it is durable as hell.
Just found the channel. Great channel man. Me and my son just started hunting this year in northwest GA.
Appreciate that! You’re in the right place, keep up the hard work, it’s addictive!
Just stumbled across thos channel a couple days ago. I live in Northeast Georgia in Habersham County. Loving the channel so far!!
Thanks for checking us out!
Congrats!
