It is also a super brutal game for the players if the dm plays it that way.

A thousand years of darkness is comming, where the screams of tortured souls will echo through the land because the one who have made a video about Hero Quest have refused to execute the ritual, the many years old tradition what have saved the world of the reign of chaos... the ritual, where the one should say:

Me and Heroquest go back 30+ years. I used to play this with my cousins and everytime I was in toys r us it was always sold out and never got to purchase it for myself. For years I tried finding a copy but never pulled the trigger for spending $100+ on an old game. I finally saw this on sale a couple a months ago and pulled the trigger. Even though I’m not expecting anything revolutionary I feel they reprinted this game for us old heads

I love this game, simply because it was the beginning of my gaming journey. Heroquest (and Space Crusade) led to Space Hulk, which led me into other Games Workshop games. I still have my original copy from the late 80s. I really should play it with my daughter at some point, to see if it's as fun as I remember.

We also really love retrostyle games.
GF9 Dune, what is also an Avalon Hill game made in the late 70s.
    Hero Quest.
    Talisman 4th edition.
All of these retro games have their own charm. Not to mention that Dune just blows our minds, I mean it was made in the time when Monopoly was the pinnacle of board gaming (atleast people have thought that it was) and better than many of the top 100 BGG games, and it is really unique. These retro games are a lot of fun, a bit harsh, but still great games.
Btw you should really give another shot to Descent 2 after you have enjoyed Hero Quest.

Last board game I purchased back in early 1990's. Really enjoyed it as a past AD&D player. Unfortunately, got rid of it as me and my gaming group started favoring computer games over board games and RPGs. Kicking myself now as I had the two expansions Keller's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord.

It had quite interesting tactical dice combat and good miniatures but dreadful designed game tiles . When I got it it went from 110 dollars to 77 and then I used Amazon points to get it for around 50. Very situational and the only way I would have picked it up. Gameplay wise I think it suits me very well but I will actually have to get a play into tell. Haha.
