Every damn time there windows 10 update I have to fix something. Microsoft support only knows how to wipe the drive and re-install the OS. Why in the hell do I waste my time even calling them?

when i go to windows?system 32> configs it won't let me open the config's folder because i "don't have access to it". It asks me to click continue but that requires administrator rights.

Everytime I tried to run cmd as you did, my pc asked me the homegroupuser$ password before launching the cmd. I could not find any homegroup om Win 10 and dont have any other ideas how to make it work. I once tried to get into SAM without using advanced option but access was denied. Now I am stucking with looking for Homegroupuser$ password and i dont have any rights back yet. I really appreciate if you can help.:)) sorry for my English

thanks man, I had a ID10T error and broke my admin account.... this helped, and thankfully I halfway know what I'm doing, so the couple of missing steps weren't a problem. I think microsoft updated something, because there's a couple more steps to it now. (or maybe this vid is vague on purpose?) One would think they would just put a message warning you not to lock yourself out if you are getting ready to do that.... I can't believe you can break your admin account in the shiny windows 10 settings! WAKE UP MICROSOFT!
Hi Kapil After going to the command prompt it is showing only 2 option one ADMINISTRATOR and the other that FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD AND CANT SEE YOUR ACCOUNT and after going to ADMINISTRATOR it is saying PASSWORD IS WRONG even though i havent changed any password i guess its because of hidden administrator and by the 2nd option it is simply restarting nothing else ........ i am unable to go the command prompt Can i use that command prompt simply from search button not by boot ??
My GF deleted her admin (I dunno how) and microsoft and other forums were USELESS, you saved me countless hours avoiding a clean install, I thank you BROTHER!
excuse me this only way to return because i have the same problem and your way is to long so i'm afraid if i do it wrong. 2-thing if i recover or format laptop is admin right will return.

If I lost administrative rights so the first thing you suggest is running Windows PowerShell as an ADMIN??

I cant click on Load Hive. The letters a gray as if it wont allow me to enter.
