I can only imagine the sad lack of good medical treatment in those days - compared to now. Thanks Steve, and hopefully you don't come to your own sad ending anytime soon.
Curly was a comedic genius. The looks, the voices, his comedic timing was impeccable. There's a reason he's everyone's favorite. He deserved a better fate.
Curly howard you are loved and appreciated by thousands around the world you brought laughter for generations here we are laughing hysterically the howards and fine family would be proud and laughing no one close to the 3 stooges your legacy of laughter and slapstick still continues on you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong keep the laughs coming appreciate the memories and a good laugh after all these years later old is gold couldn't breathe and stop laughing love you guys thanks very impressed way to go !! Joe
Great presentation Steve. I knew he was a dog lover, it’s very sad his health couldn’ be improved. I bet today with all the advances in modern medicine they could have done a lot more for him.
Thats for this lovely but sad story of Curly. They were all so funny and may he RIP. As for me i am grateful everyday when i wake and are still here. I really enjoy your videos.
Hi Steve! "The Three Stooges," were a staple of my growing up years. Each day after school, as mom was making our dinner meal, I sat "glued" to the TV watching "The Three Stooges." They were always so funny, all of them!
I'm not sure if you know this but Curly has a currently living grandson who has his own TH-cam channel. This same grandson has come to embrace Curly's legacy as a stooge very passionately. Here's the link to his TH-cam channel: youtube.com/@curlysgrandson?si=L7y3UIC7jTKYqTJV
this is just beautiful, I suffered a stroke 6 years ago in 2018, just loss of left sided paralysis, hand/arm flop, legs not bad, I feel for all these people who's health is worse than me, I'm still here thank God.
@@TheLifeandSadEnding Steve, you never stop amazing me. You have truly risen from the ashes like a Phoenix, your fortitude and ability to keep fighting no matter what certain bastards in the world throw at you is totally amazing to me. May you keep posting your stuff and hit 1 million subscribers take care of yourself be well, and also your wife for her endurance through crisis that you’ve had to face take care of yourself be well you’re the best
My favorite comedian of all time. I watch him every day. Curly is the man! His story is so sad though 😢😢 I was so glad when I saw your video remembering him. Thank you Steve.
The hospital where Curly received his High BP retinal hemorrhage and obesity diagnosis was Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. I think too as to why Moe didn’t want Curly to live in a mental hospital was because he didn’t want Curly to be alone or isolated from his family.
I remember watching a Stooges short about 12 years ago, after not having seen one for 20 years or more. I couldn't stop laughing at the insane things Curly was doing. Man, it would have been a hoot to be on set, watching them film the episodes. Curly was a comedic genius.
I think I have much more of an appreciation for "The Three Stooges" now than I did years ago. We didn't have cable growing up, so we "settled" for shows like The Stooges, or Gilligan's Island, and others shown on UHF channels. Lol. But back then, I found them annoying and unfunny. Now, in my (ahem) 40s, I find it hilarious and entertaining. I love these bios on celebrities of yesteryear. My favorite star of the Golden Age/Era is definitely Cary Grant. I tell people I was born in the wrong decade considering my love for Cary Grant and William Powell movies. Getting back to the brothers Howard, sounds like they were extraordinarily close. Despite him passing decades ago, I got a little choked up hearing how Moe was insistent when it came to "what to do with" (sorry- that sounds kind of harsh to word it that way, but I mean no disrespect at all) Curly. Thanks for another great video! 😊
this one gets me. I'm hearing about Curly's health while looking at clips of the stooges with a BIG Smile. To Me, He was the Most Animated. Thanks for the Great Clip. S U B S C R I B E !!
Why don't you talk about his drinking issues? You can't white wash the past, I am not going to subscribe because you are not being honest. It is well known that Curly had a drinking problem, and you never even mentioned it.... WTH???
My videos are brief and to the point. Everyone smoked and drank excessively in those days, so don't always go on about it. Thanks for leaving a comment.
I always like hearing stories of Curly. I’m 71. I grew up watching these guys on TV after school curly just seem like a guy that he made you feel good just by looking at him. Some people have a built-in smile. Another one is Gene Hackman. I don’t know if he’s a grouch or not but he sure looks like a nice guy.
Everybody loved Curly.
That Nyuk Nyuk on his grave actually brought a tear.
Curly is my fave Stooge.
Tragic story, but interesting.
Curly is my favorite Stooge. Thanks for honoring his memory with your interesting and informative presentation.
Thanks Jim.

I really loved watching the stooges when I was a kid. I admit I still watch them now. Curly was definitely my favorite.
I love watching The Three Stooges
Curly was my all time favorite and was a cutie in my eyes. Sad how he ended.

Thank you.
Great video! Thank you. I love they way the brothers stuck together. Sounds like Moe took care of everyone.
Almost unbelievable that he went through all of those health problems and was only 48 when he died. I would have never guessed.

I don't think I've ever heard that much info on his personal life before. Thanks Steve 😊
Thanks Steve. Jerome had a truly sad ending.

Thanks for all you do!
Loved Mike Chiklis's portrayal of him in the Made for TV Film about the Stooges!
Greetings from South Carolina 🎉
