Great video, enabled me to fix my TV, following your simple step by step process. Lifting the screen and leaning against a wall like you showed was really helpful, as being such a large TV lifting the screen and stacking the parts while changing the LEDs was bit of a problem in my situation. Thanks
Hello, Thank you very much my friend! I just repaired my TV thanks to you! It took me 1 hour but no particular problem following your advice. €15 for parts on Aliexpress that’s all it cost me! Thanks again!! 😀
I just tried this with my Philips 55PUS6704/12. The lights work again, but unfortunately I cracked the screen (although just a hairline fracture) while removing the double sticking tape as seen at 4:09. I guess I'll just have to look for a new TV now
I do habe a 55PUS7304 but there aren't any LED backlite stripes! Only 4 layers of "white something" and after lifting that I only see the bare metal from behind... I took some photos, but no video.
Hey, I had this issue during the warranty period, and it was fixed. Back then, it was also related to the TV's Ambilight. Now, I want to fix it myself and have a question. Is it necessary to replace the LED, or is unplugging it enough to make the TV work again?
Hey i have just had this problem with my model the same as this .. i can see the picture when shining a torch on the screen.. so would that mean if i replaced the leds it should work or can it be something else causing this problem
@@mmwhitetech do you know what model numbers are compatible with this TV as when looking online it looks like they are the same as other models like the 6704 and mine being the 6754 would any of the leds from either 2 models work
Hi, its not a tool, just this is plastic lear , i used from old tv, its under the boards between board and metal , jus cut a piece from the lear .or use some similar plastic .
Did this yesterday! worked awesome . But got the problem that the backlight now shows on the screen, you can se them pretty good . Did i make some error when i put it back together ?

I went through with this repair today, took me 4 or so hours. The end result was that the picture's back, but the three bottom rows of backlights show through the screen. when there's movement on the screen it's really visible.
there's also one way my tv differs from yours even though we have the exact same model 55PUS6754/12 -- the backlights are in one continuous stripe instead of two on each row, and they are called "LB-GM3030-GJ0D22555X10AN22-T" without ending in "R-1-T" or "L-1-T". The replacements I used were the same ones you used here, one left and one right on each row. Would this explain the backlights malfunctioning?
Has to be shure that plastic spacers between backlight first lear and other lears on top its there on place. If they are in place, and all the magnifiers are on the diodes, then maybe there is a defective backlight. I can't be sure where exactly your problem is coming from.
@@mmwhitetech okay, so the backlight replacements being a different version from the old ones that came with the tv shouldn't make a difference? i might've turned the matte layer wrong side up on top of the backlights, but i know for sure the other layers were correctly placed. guess i'll try again. thanks!

very nice that you have the exact same model as me. why does it need double tape when screws are holding it in place?
The exact answer can be given by the manufacturer, in most cases it is for better fixation and heat exchange between the backlight and the metal back.
Thank You very much! 😉

There is probably an error in the assembly of the layers, send me a picture so I can see.
@@mmwhitetech Might be . Went in reverse on video so i might have gotten it wrong. I emailed you pictures of it .
are you sure that you put the plastic spacers between the first layer and the hard plastic layer above the diodes
